Well, I had a tiny session this morning but it was rubbish, tried back in the Porsche and no improvement.. I just felt... lost! Does anyone get that? Can't get my braking point right, turn it at the wrong time, don't turn enough, turn too much, power too early or late.. Penalties everywhere, spinning on straights.. I just forget how to drive! Ok it's not terrible as I could still lap in the 1:41's but nowhere near my PB and feeling pretty exhausted.

Every TT I managed to improve over the course of the fortnight but this one I felt like I peaked right at the start and it's not making me happy!! I might focus on daily race C this week until the new TT comes out. Have fun, guys :D

Is that even a question??:lol:

I was allready kind of fed up, just tomany miles trying to 40 it, then tried again because of the tips from @FlightSpeed_
but i just can't seem to improve, there is no clean lap anymore, stupid mistakes, missing breakpoints, my brain is starting to take different lines tho i know that's not faster, but i'm on a good lap and my brain just does something totally different to **** up the muscle memory :lol:, i have to deal with it that some people ( no names thrown ) are just quicker :lol:

Last time i was right on Barca, i hope Monza - Ferrari VGT or something, but we will probl get Dragon Seaside again with a stock renault Alpine ( latest ) on sports hards so we can all die at the chicane

On to the next!

How many of you also do time trial/qualification for daily races?

Beyond the credits and medal on your profile it's the exact same gameplay, so if you're playing for the challenge and to see how high on the leaderboards you can get you basically have an additional 3 time trials to jump into every week even if you're not interested in racing online.

Seems like a lot of people don't partake in both since this TT was a repeat of a daily race the week before but no one really cares, but doing the daily race ones too gives a lot more variety in the time trials. E.g. last week had the ra272 at monza.

I'd like to do both, but in reality I probably am 80% TT 20% Daily.
The fact is that I don't have too much time and the time window of the TT allow me to have time to progress

This week I'm done with TT, I have a solid silver, but gold it to far away because of this

and because I suck, obviuosly :D

so it may be a good moment to swap to dailies.

I'm also trying to confirm against the dailies leaderboard what I get in TT, aiming to be within 4% of the best, but I have to feeling that in dailies we have less people, and we don't have that strive to improve. This also applies to me, since I use Quali to get used with track/car more than to climb the leaderboard

Yeah, pretty much the same. Today is Monday, tired after work tried 25 laps and best was 1:41:7
(My PB is 1:41:0 and OPT 1:40:7 so I was hoping to nail all sectors but we will see if that will be possible)

Nürburgring was recently on TT, how about Monza?
Yeah well only downside is that we already had a Monza race last week in RA272.. so I would want a bit more variety. Grand Valley Highway 1 could be interesting 🤔

Finally did some laps yesterday. Didn't expect much tbh, as i am not a fan of the track and gr3 is where i start to struggle. After about 300km in the RSR i had a 41.8, with an optimal of 41.4

I really didn't expect to hit a gold time on this one, and it will surely fall if i can't improve on it, but still, a pleasant surprise. More laps tonight after work to try and get a time i think will hold up

I only did it few weeks back when there was free multiplayer weekend at PSN (still didn't subscribe to ps plus).
You mean those several minute sessions before the race and when the timer goes to 0 you land in the pre-race lobby?
I didn't know there was an all time leaderboard for those qualis. I only saw times of the fellow players competing in the race I was in.

There's a separate option to do free practice - unlimited laps and a global leaderboard, just like the time trials.

I tried out the R8 '18 and was almost there! BUT! I couldn't put together a full lap and only improved my time by like 0.03 1:42.64x but that damn optimal time was like a carrot that I couldn't grab all the way down at 1:41.96!

Worst part was right after my PB lap I was up ~0.3-seconds after S1, ~0.35 after S2, absolutely nail either T10 or T11 (slow right-hander after the last hairpin) and now up 0.49. I actually make the right hander well enough and maintaining my delta - now I'm super pumped because I had been hitting the last turn very strong the vast majority of the previous 10+ laps - so naturally I braked a little too hard and start my turn a little too early, although not scrubbing too much speed, but went on the inside grass some - and still close out the lap improving my PB by 0.39! Only to see the penalty flash on the screen negating my lap! It all fell apart after that and I received penalties on 5 out of the next 7-laps and spinning out badly on the other two lol.

It was like the game sensed a surge in my confidence and decided to rain on my parade lol.

I generally don't unless there is some benefit, usually when I get in early on daily races and learn the track/car combo before others to set a decent quali time and get the 'jump' on people faster than me before they figure it all out as the week goes on. I did a lot in Daily Race C last week as I didn't know GVH1 (like... everyone) and therefore thought it would be a benefit.

Some races I can see real advantages for being high on the grid like this week's race A but otherwise sometimes I think it's better to start near the back and make places? I don't know.. If they presented the QT statistics like they do in the TT I'd be more interested but when it is just your place in the world I'm not that bothered.

One sweaty session later (literally I'm drenched) and unfortunately I'm no closer to gold, I've hit a wall. Saw a couple 1:41.9s and some 1:42.0s but wasn't able to beat the 1:41.95 I set yesterday.

For Daily Race qualifying times, I haven't been trying as hard in the but I do put some effort in because I want to start near the front of the grid. My normal flow is run QT, learn track and get a baseline of my lap time. Switch to custom race and to get some credits while I practice. Once I'm confident I can drive in traffic with minimal mistakes I go back to qualify again, which usually gives another second out two off my time. Then I do the race.

Wow, I definitely had to work hard to gold this one! I'm not normally one to obsess about getting gold as I only have a few plus it usually depends on the track/car combo for me but having golded the last two TTs I was on a bit of a run.
I started off in the Mclarean but could only get a high 42. After then trying the 911 and the BRZ i settled on the latter as I found it very planted plus for me the back end of the 911 kept wanting to slip out on turn exits.

I finally got gold with a 42.064 (gold at the time was 42.092) but I knew it wouldn't hold. I could get constant 42.0xxs but just couldn't crack the 41 sec mark. After multiple sessions I was able to get my time down to a 41.967 which was still just outside of gold.

For me I obviously found turns 5 and 10 hard to nail but also found that I was losing time on turn 12 and the last two right handers. One i figured out the best way to carry speed through these turns I was able to drop a few tenths and somehow managing to link this lap together!

For me this is my first gold hat trick which I am pretty stocked about 🍻

This was one of those TT where I gave up and took the 1m cr. I got to 4.2x% and realized that if I wanted the money it would just be easier to grind. While I would love to work this for the gold cup I had to take a reality check that this one was not going to happen this week.
Aliens, can you please avoid the game for 24 hours, I'm sitting on 2.9%
Never trust the aliens.

Just logged back into the Time Trial after doing a single exploratory lap last week in the 1.55's. Slow, but I bet there are thousands slower still. My time is 143,XXX in the world, which seems to be some 10k-15k higher than the previous highest TT participant total. I guess this TT will surpass 150k participants.

I know for sure the next time trial will involve a lot of wide body / weight reduction / ballast tomfoolery, time to buy 4 Mustangs I guess....

Yeah...well while I golded the NSX one at the Nür just out of competitive nature/self challenge, I really hated it in some ways because I had to buy 3 diff NSX to compare for best set up combo with stuff you can't undo and trying out a boatload of mods before finding the right recipe. That takes alot of guesswork at the start and time to the figure stuff out because there are so many possibilities and that was a real headache. To me that takes all the fun out of just logging in for a few minutes and drive. With mods allowed it is really time consuming before you can even start to challenge for times...not ideal if your life doesn't revolve around gaming 24/7.

All the time required for tuning is time you could have spent driving and having fun doing the TT instead of getting brain dead.

The other thing I don't like about this format is depending on the car, even if you gold it, it might cost you more credits just to buy the car and mod it, let alone if you buy 3 to try out diff setups to compare, even if you resell the cars after!

Now for someone, like many others, who got tired of grinding just for cash and because of the lack of events in carrer mode and low payouts...I had left for several months because I got sick of it. Since I came back I discovered on this forum following the 25th anniversary anyone could do the online TTs so I immediately jumped in and loved it. It's the only thing that keeps me hanging on to this game now aside from circuit experience whenever there's a new one.

I might very well skip this next TT and according to stats from the NSX Nür TT members posted here, it seem like many participants get turned off by the idea of spending 1-2 mil and going through all of which I just described to potentially come up short(moneywise)in the end, so I expect participation to fall again.

Isn't this car quite cheap compared to the nsx? I know I have one gifted as well, but not sure if it was from cafe or ticket.

I think for the nordschleife TT the track was a bigger issue than tuning. Personally I saw little difference in time between tunes, even though they required different driving styles. Since there's no PP limitations there's no weird tunes/pp glitches which differentiate the cars as much in terms of performance.

I think this will be an interesting test to see the effect of tuning at least, cause the track is short enough that it's possible to master in a reasonable amount of time.

YouTubers will have decent tunes out tomorrow anyway
