I'm a bit confused in how to get to see the replays of the top 10 players in the leaderboard!

When I press 'X' on a top player, I get 2 options. Load ghost & view profile. I click on load ghost & the ghost loads. When I return to a menu prior (the main page of the TT), if I select replay option, I only get the option to see my replay.

So I'm confused as to where to see the replays from because replays of the top 10 users imo is a great tutorial of sorts to learn about braking & turning points.

Hi,

Note to self....

When applying upgrades to a car - please read ALL notes carefully!!!

I have spent ages trying to set a reasonable time. Getting frustrated and angry. I then double checked the upgrades applied...

I had forgotten to upgrade the brakes! What a plonker!!! :boggled::boggled::boggled:

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

You need to go back a page, to before entering (don't click the green tick). Then go to leaderboard and click on a name and you will get a replay option.

Something very interesting happened. I thought to test @sdi_03 tune 2.0 and I am pretty sure copied exactly same settings, however, value is slightly different. You can check images. I needed to boost power restrictor to 88 to reach 443 horse powers. I make one test, retry, make another , drive few laps, set new PB, thanks SDI!
I turn PS off and grab breakfast and then come back to try again, I see game tells me that oil is worn out so I change oil and even wash the car. I go into TT and game tells me I am now above 443 horse powers. 🧐 So I go into settings and change back power restrictor to 87 and car is now again 443 🧐 strange, it's either some bug or oil change influence it?

Now I’m even more confused (see my previous post).
Anyways, solved my problem by slamming on the polished ports upgrade so now i’m @ 443bhp with 38.4 torque

Great tune, was stuck @ 1.28.2 and now I’m @ 1.27.8

Yes. If you use your own car (as opposed to rented) then oil will be used. Use enough and don't refill, and it will affect power. As you carry on doing this TT with that car, do a few 100 miles without changing oil and you'll see the HP (and PP) drop.
Wow, didn't know that.
Thanks

anyone with a good setup for controller? made a mix of praiano's and somebody else's... but nothing better than 1.30.8xx without csa...
I used SDI's tune + Praiano's transmission + my engine tune and did 1:27.566 with PS4, DS4 controller, ABS on, CSA strong, Manual transmission, TCS 0, no rollcage, wide tires
At the bottom I added what gears I use in case you want to try this exact setup.

Round 2 - 1:27.879
Not every day I manage a visit to the top 100.
This time I went for the NA engine, with gearing and setup based on the tune @sdi_03 shared yesterday.
Only did some smaller changes to the suspension. But had to go very different on the lsd settings to get the handling to feel a bit more predictable.
(No assists except ABS default)

Well,Sunday morning and the gold time has dropped to 1:29.265, knocking me into silver zone.
Bought another Stang to add to the fleet, lets call it the Orange Stang, new set-up,just couldn't keep the rear end in order.
Back to the Blue Stang but still snapping out too much, then i remembered everyone using CSA strong,click,presto,1:29.125 ,safely back in the Gold zone for now,but i should be able to get into the 1:28's :)

Likewise got pretty much the same time as yourself (1:28.4??) and refuse to turn on anything other than ABS no matter what I'm driving. I think CSA helps more with consistency than lap time. I know I can beat my time but putting the lap together is proving difficult.

An hour or so later and I'm 1:28.1?? But with a few tenths to be gained in S1. Under 1:28 is my target and I'll happily stop after that.

Never pushed myself in a TT than I have in this one.
Not a fan of tuning due to the ridiculous exploits people find. Anyway decided to try this with a tune I found. So all in all cost me about 200000 credits to buy & build the car. Defo need a gold to make it worth while now.
Slowly but surely I was knocking the time off each lap. 1.31.5 - 1.30.9 - 1.29.6 etc… I felt like I reached my limited when I hit a 1.29.6 yesterday. Tried again today and went a little quicker but still couldn’t get that 29.2 to get into good time. I loaded up a 1.28.9 ghost to follow and after a few attempts managed to set a 1.29.055. So far this good for gold and hopefully enough to keep me gold. Don’t think I have another few tenths in me.

@Uday9479 and everyone else. This is how to follow any ghost that has been uploaded to servers. For me following the top 10 ghosts are pointless as they are halfway up the road already by the time I hit T2. Finding a time closer to my times is more beneficial

Yes,definitely find a ghost not too far ahead of your time,i just loaded a 1:28.2xx,about .900 ahead and bettered my time to 1:28.998,now have a .267 cushion, with still room to improve.

I would say turn on your "gimmick easy mode" and see how much of a difference it is for you in the end 😏
I did have it on. I'm not even sure what time I would have with it off. I didn't have it on in the beginning, as I didn't know about it. But halfway through I saw the top times have it on, I didn't bother to continue trying with it off.

Quick session with @sdi_03 ’s tune. I like it, with CS strong it’s very quick! GT7 physics are so oversensitive n this case CS strong actually makes the car feel more natural than without the ‘assist’..

An easy 1:27 is possible with this tune IMO, I was 0.5s up on my PB before a catastrophe in the corkscrew ended up in a rage quit.

I’m gonna focus on this tune for now unless someone finds something categorically quicker. Thanks again @sdi_03 for sharing the tune amigo, top man!!!

Wheel or controller?

My previous struggles must've been the tune.

Ditched the one I was using and used Kie's tune. I was able to get all three accounts into gold, with a pair of 28.8s and a 28.7; all three within .044".

Hopefully that's the end of it!
Can anyone please post/forward this tune, i can't find it anywhere...

I started with Mistah tune and found it a bit understeery for my taste.
I usually run with all assist off but Abs. I learned to be cautious on the gas out of the turns, probably too cautious, an this is costing me a lot.
I moved then to gt Italia setup and did not find too much of a difference. (Crap... not being able to feel differences make me feel bad)

Moved then to Praiano and quite instantly felt way better. I'm now at 30.5x, quite good at sector1, average at sector2, quite ugly at sector3, particulary at corkscrew and following turn. I have to study there!

I'm thinking to use countersteer, as advised by some of you.
Is it just operating the wheel to try to avoid the spin, or it is also cutting power?

I'm asking because I used it for couple of laps and saw the white badge turning red here and there without any apparent motivation and without feeling anything on the wheel force feedback

I don't know what exactly countersteer assist does but it doesn't cut power.. The icon flashes all the time (like the ABS icon) but I notice it most when I get oversteer AND I countersteer, when I do this the countersteer assist seems to kick in and avoid loss of control. It's a bit agricultural but it does stop you losing control on unpredictably oversteery cars. I think if you don't countersteer yourself the car will still lose control but I'm not 100% sure.

I don't think it makes you quicker than without CS assist but it does avoid a loss of control in most circumstances which improves consistency. I'm sure someone who knows exactly what it does can give you a more accurate explanation! I mainly use it on difficult to control (in the game..) road cars on Sports tyres to make them managable. A prime example was the Cayman GT4 a few TT's back which did some very peculiar things at sensible speeds (oversteer at low throttle loads at low speeds, something a real Cayman GT4 would never do).

Had to consolidate my fragile 1:30.997 because silver is now 1:30.998 😅

Did 10 laps without trying to push but rather string 10 clean laps.

Forgot to brake at T1 on one lap, and tried to brake much less in the turn before climb to the corkscrew on another lap, bad idea...

Other than that, I've been regular around 1:31-1:32-3, with a surprise lap that did not felt that good at 1:30.874.

My new silver time is not rock solid but it is a small improvement 🙂

Thanks @sdi_03 for sharing THE tune and all others that are helpful with this TT!
Got some free time for some laps and currently at 1,99% and P429. I know it's not 👽 time like some of you are reaching but I am happy for now. Still ten days left and let's see if I find time and skills to improve! Good luck to you all!

Hi guys! 😃

Great to see another tuning TT for this week! Got to admit I still had PTSD from the last one at the Nurb, but things weren't as worrying on a shorter track I guess. Mistah MCA had just posted his setup on YT, so that's the one I tried first. It has potential, but it was a bit too dangerous for my taste, so I tweaked it with some Praiano magic, and 5 gears instead of 6. It totally worked! - Went straight in the 1:28's. (I think there was a little Blayney in there too;), thanks m8!)

With a little more effort, I eventually reached a time of 1:28.6 - This is where I actually stand.

Pretty confident this is ok for gold, but now I just tried Sdi's setup, and it is bomb!🔥 - There's almost half a second to gain with a perfect lap, and the car is much more driveable than my previous runs, so I'll be hunting for that later this week. I have yet to figure out if CS assist helps me or not, but I know it can help in particular situations ; It slows you down but not as much as TC1, I find it to be a lot more subtle.

Anyways, congratulations to the ones who made gold (especially those in the 27's!), and good luck to the others. Practice is key to improvement. A big thank you to everyone who posted setups - You guys are gold! See you soon😎 -Vex
