Just gave it my first go and left with a 1:26.995.

Quite possibly my last go if the WR doesn't come tumbling down as this TT is incredibly tedious.
Hard to find the motivation to keep going for that best personal lap when you're bored out of your skull after 5 minutes!

Something more interesting next time please PD!

I don't think it'll stick, but it looks like I'm already just 2.6x% off the top. Fantastic! Definitely feels fun to drive, even though it's quite hard to turn when you're flooring it. Part of the fun, IMO, is trying to balance how much power to put on as you go through each corner. Reminds me a bit of an FF car, even though I believe the Alphard is 4WD. Maybe it's more biased towards the front?

I find this interesting and challenging and fun. We just came off the undriveable Mustang at Laguna Seca, and it was no fun trying lap after lap on the that, trying to find a driveable tune. The NSX at Daytona had the annoying T1, and the goofy track limits at the chicane.

This TT may be to easy to get gold relative to other TT's, but it is a fun one to chase your PR because you can not only figure out where you can gain time, but also know that it is doable.

I find this fun and just want to go as low as I can...

But, totally get that different people can find the same challenge boring vrs challenging, and frustrating vrs fun... but tedious?? The last one was tedious imo....

Different strokes for different folks I guess. Nothing wrong with that. I'm glad they at least have some variety with the TT's.

I really enjoyed the Mustang being right on the edge of completely throwing me off track if I got it even slightly wrong. I guesstimated a half decent tune early on which probably helped but that's the kind of challenge I want in a TT.

I just don't get very much satisfaction out of driving a 2 tonne AWD box rather slowly! Which is a shame because the car fully tuned is quite a good laugh. As it is i found it neither fun nor frustrating, just a bit dull.

But glad you're enjoying it, sure the next one will be more to my liking again 👍

I think it has it's own kind of nice class here, I think this is def a easy one, but still you have to put it all together, somany times I was .300 below my pb before missing my latest braking point or didn't throttle controle the turn before, so def alot of room for improvement, 1.26.967 for now

Those replays looks so weird with this six story building squeeking around the corners 🤣🤣

And such an ugly sloppy lap 🤣.....suite the ugly car though .....🤣

Yeah I don't think this TT is one that suits me that well, but I still probably get gold. 1.28.048, I reckon I could go 3-4 tenths quicker. Struggling with consistency, probably due to the camera angle. I am so used to third person, but with this boxy boi you cannot use it, since you don't see that well, with the car blocking the view of the track. Bumper cam is what I felt most comfortable with in this car.

I've joined the 1:26 club! :D I'm still behind a couple of you crazy lunatics, though.

You got me already tho! 😁🙏
There's a long way to go before this TT ends. I don't know if I'll keep my spot above you or some of the others.

Fun fact: that was the only 26 I ran the entire session. In fact, my next best lap was a 27.2. I couldn't even manage a 27.0 or 27.1. Weird how I had that one lap so much faster than the others.

I am having a ton of fun with this TT, and yes, I enjoy driving the van more than the Ford Mustang. The Alphard feels more honest with its responses to throttle input and is more fun to balance on throttle and braking. Weird and dumb, yes, but fun nonetheless.

@Leon Kowalski 's advice REALLY helped.
Early braking before T1, accelerate before you hit the apex. Take some risk through the second right hander. You can go faster through there than you think and still catch the car. Then brake early, very tight through the double left, controlling speed and direction with the throttle (not much of it, and lifting gets the rear turned). Wide entry into the hairpin, but keeping it tight to the inside curbs. Full throttle only when you've straightened out the car. In the long left hander, wide entry, head to the inside (left), get off the throttle early and coast, maybe with a bit of throttle until the marshal box is in the middle of the screen, then hit the throttle again. Take the final right hairpin tightly, but on acceleration you should be off the curbs, that gives you more exit speed.
I accept that my judgements were biased by my expectations. I expected the Ford in the last TT to be competent, while my expectations for the Alphard were... none

I started this TT in a tribute to the infamous Pink Vitz from GT3:

But I didn't find the speed until I embraced my true calling: package delivery.

Best time:
1:26.974

In addition to the advice, @Dolph Drago punched a large enough hole in the wind that I was able to take advantage of the draft and wander into club 1:26. :sly:

Glad to read that. I was honestly wondering if my quick writedown in, err, less-than-stellar english would be any useful.

This makes me smile, I am quite happy to prop up the leaderboard here!! If anyone wants me to stay at the bottom, I am open to bribes

I'm still focusing on Race B for now but a few bad races and I'll jump in the bus. Loving some of your paint schemes so far, I'll buy this badboi later and have a look for something racy :dunce:

EDIT: Oh and any regulars feel free to add my PSN to get me bottom of your TT leaderboard  I'm looking at you @Gomario JSP

Gave it a go this morning. Certainly the highest % to WR time I’ve had and we’ll into gold, and this time it should hold at 1:27.577. S2 is killing me because I can get S1&3 at same times as all you 1:26’ers but 46.130 is my fastest and in one of those vids I watched guy got 42.467 in S2!

I'm not sure I would describe this as "easy" like so many others say here. Yes, I got to gold and was 2.4 something % last night but this morning it is already 2.55%.

How much lower do you think the leader will go? Might my 1:28.385 not survive?

As for those getting 1:26.x times, how do you do it? I feel like I am driving the wheels off this and I don't see how to get an extra 2 seconds. I know that turn 6 (first hairpin) is my nemesis where much time can be gained or lost. I seem to lose it and when I gain it I'm not sure how I did it. How'd you take that corner to get good speed coming out? That is key for the rest of the track....
The leader may be able to crack a time in the 1'25.000 range, knowing how insane they drive and brake.
