Got my self down to a 1:28.046. Can I be done now? I’m finding this van really tedious. I don’t like it.

This makes me smile, I am quite happy to prop up the leaderboard here!! If anyone wants me to stay at the bottom, I am open to bribes

I'm still focusing on Race B for now but a few bad races and I'll jump in the bus. Loving some of your paint schemes so far, I'll buy this badboi later and have a look for something racy :dunce:

EDIT: Oh and any regulars feel free to add my PSN to get me bottom of your TT leaderboard  I'm looking at you @Gomario JSP
🤣🤣, ok....ok....... always tricky to give an alien acces to you leaderboard, but I'll make an exeption 🤣🙏

@Dan_Tes I saw your note in the race chat but was too slow to get my reply in, sorry. I don't often do daily races, so am not used to the controls. Every few months I do a race or two to remind myself why I don't do daily races. Today was no exception. Did a couple of laps just to see what the car was like, so the qualifying time was poor (1:31 or so I think) putting me at the back. Worked up a few places then this. Watch the guys in 6th and 7th up ahead. The race with you in was shortly after; I got punted again (slight, but still) and later spun out of my own accord, so called it a day.

That, right there, is why I don’t even bother using what precious time I have doing the daily races…. There’s just simply no need for someone to be that much of a d!%$

Same reason I avoid racing online completely.. 👎

of the many bad things about this video, this user is simply taught that “blocking faster cars on the straight by weaving” and “smashing cars off the track using their door” is acceptable racing. the game assumes every online driver is hip to FIA regulations when in reality their product is probably the only exposure to race rules they’ll ever have…. And being the only self-penalizing driver in every race is a bit silly.

it’s fun to drive cars in unranked races or lobbies, or do time trials / quali laps, but the penalty system makes it impossible for me to invest too much time into the game. I have to think there are a ton of users who would prefer touch-penalties to this garbage, but I guess they don’t represent the market PD is looking to keep.

Good lord. The cherry on top was the 3 second penalty you got for hitting the barrier twice.

I've yet to run an online race in GT7. Things like this is why I'm hesitant to do so.

I think you may be giving them a bit too much credit - if they rock up to a race in a GT3 Ferrari (or whatever it is they were in) they know something and will likely have watched a race on TV at some point. Unless they’re watch rallycross or NASCAR, driving into people typically isn’t a thing

Until recently, I've never had a race online, but you need 50 for one trophy so I gave it a go. In low lobbies of course as my DR/SR is non existent.

It has been a nice experience overall with most contacts mainly due to our lack of skill, and it even happened that a driver who pushed me in the sand, waited that I come back on the track to pursue his race, behind me.

This is a very good advert for why we like the Time Trials so much!! 😂 I actually wondered why you left mid race so I went back and watched the replay.. you did really well to avoid being punted in that race (the guy that did called everyone dirty in the lobby post race.. he should watch his own replays 🫠). I’m not surprised you left, you were unlucky with the spin too again ridiculous GT7 physics! I finished that race in 2nd but the physics update is troubling me, I’ve binned it twice under no pressure in first place and felt I’d been punted in my last race only to check the replay and the rear end silently let go for no obvious reason, I get barely any tire squeal when the rear let’s go even though I have tyre sounds turned up to max, and the wheel gives no feedback!

At least you know you definitely aren’t punted in Time Trials! It’s all on you (and dodgy physics)

I’ve chosen my funbus appearance, expect to see it next week when I start getting stuck in on this TT 😬

Yeah this is annoying and makes me quite mad if I come across this online, but it happens alot and apparently we just have to deal with it 😡 but this is indeed the reason I play online not that much

😠 One would expect that people competing on your rank would know what sportsmanship is and behave, but some obviously ruin the fun for many others....

I'm not sure I would describe this as "easy" like so many others say here. Yes, I got to gold and was 2.4 something % last night but this morning it is already 2.55%.

How much lower do you think the leader will go? Might my 1:28.385 not survive?

As for those getting 1:26.x times, how do you do it? I feel like I am driving the wheels off this and I don't see how to get an extra 2 seconds. I know that turn 6 (first hairpin) is my nemesis where much time can be gained or lost. I seem to lose it and when I gain it I'm not sure how I did it. How'd you take that corner to get good speed coming out? That is key for the rest of the track....
Easy. They're limo drivers by profession for high rollers that need to get to the airport in 15 minutes during rush hour.

I'm at 1:28.2 and will probably let the TT gods decide if it's enough.

Another daily marathon (And an engine swap ticket for it), another best.
12 laps in the 27’s watching my best creep down .488, .483, .474, .454, .373…..then 1:27.187.
Which I should have been happy with but was on pace for high 26 before losing it in the final hairpin and watching the time difference dwindle as I approached the line. Optimal 1:26.903.

Finally, an easy time trial that doesn't require tuning. The Alphard is a weird thing to drive but after I got a handle on it I achieved a 1:27.550. That should be enough to keep me in the gold bracket.

Well, I must say I was sceptical at first but this TT ended up being way funnier than expected! Cant see crap in 3rd person view so I had a little laugh at first but quickly realized it was no joke.... Ehhh, the windshield is smoked out 😮 What kind of sorcery is this PD??? 🙃

It took a little while in order to be comfy with the hood view but I eventually got it right, achieving gold by the same time. Autopolis is one of my favorite tracks, so I decided to push a bit more and got a 1:27.2 after a few sessions. I knew the 1:26's were possible, but it would require a near perfect lap from my part, which was easier said than done.

I usually tend to lose interest once I'm in the safe gold range, but as I'm waiting for the F1 Gp to start later tonight, I decided to have another crack at the TT... Well it certainly paid off - I got past my previous ghost after cleaning up sector 1 and 3. The end result is a satisfying time of 1:26.983 , which seals the deal for me :) Using the 4wd system to its full potential is crucial to maximize corner exit speed on this one.

Very fun experience overall, cant complain, even if I did when I first saw the update featuring a van. Of course an engine swapped Econoline would've been my choice but that's for another time I guess:lol:
On this note, I wish you all a great week and good luck folks! - Vex

Also, I shared my Fedex livery, if anyone's interested 😎 Link here
