There are loads of places to gain or lose time at this track.

The chicane with the rocket launcher kerbs, the following hairpin, the medium speed corners later in the lap, the triple-or-is-it-quadruple apex right hander, and of course the double apex final corner are all easy places to get slightly wrong. That is basically everywhere! Chicane is key of course.

Wow, last minute improvements at the top by some margin!! Luckily I managed to hold on (just!) on my main account. My alt was safe by a few tenths, luckily!!

Looking forward to trying the new one. Need to find a suitable livery for the Radical...
I saw about 10 very nice... JPS, Jaguar, Toyota GR y LM1, Ferrari and a few more,,,

Yesterday test and made 1,41.5**, today to a daily race I got 1.39 high and I think for me is ok

I had a little test run today! Not my favourite track, in fact besides circuit experience/any offline races I’ve never been to round it. Likewise, I don’t know the Radical besides the Brands Hatch circuit experience and hated it there. First laps were hilarious and terrifying; Why PD pick the car that arguably rides curbs worse than any other, for THIS track? Evil. However, I did find it a lot of fun and Racing Hard tyres seem to suit it quite well! Looking forward to getting stuck into this one but doubt I will be achieving alien status by the end, I’ll just be happy to avoid going airborne over the sausages every once in a while 🤣

Interestingly I have been in a Radical on track before and it was MAD! I think somebody said before, the cornering forces are insane but also the braking completely blew me away. Here in the U.K. you can get a passenger hot lap ride in one for £30 and I highly recommend it to anyone 😁

Good point! The Ferrari 333 SP might be a good semi-replica, or the BMW V12 LMR...

I'm sure there was a Porsche around this era that also had a similar setup, but I can't remember what it was......
EDIT: It was the Sunoco-liveried Porsche 917/30 Can Am car I was thinking about. But I don't know how well that will translate onto the Radical. It's radical-ly different.

So we have some Shortshift Shenanigans again, that is going to be struggle on pad, but we like struggles, we eat them for breakfast,
tough one, but i'm sure we will compete at the end with our own forum aliens until the last few days, then they are going to crush us...., i'm not naming anyone like @2Quickrides and @Dan_Tes For example...........

"Looking forward to getting stuck into this one but doubt I will be achieving alien status by the end"....Sure Dan...., we sure believe that

He really made me believe it was a competition, let me have hope that for a fleeting moment I might have a chance of topping the friends leaderboard. But that's how the aliens get you. They walk among us and pretend to be human. Then one day you're walking down the road and a satellite comes out of your butt.

I am far from an alien. Just put more time into the van than any other TT to date. Speaking of, anyone looking for a used Alphard? Low miles at around 900, mostly driven on the weekends just around the block, no accidents (Only because there were no walls to hit)

EDIT: In the original posting I had forgotten to update total participants. Now corrected.

Here are the statistics for TT 21 Autopolis Shortcut Course in the Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge '18.

  • Participation continues to be strong - this had the second highest number of drivers.
  • This was 2nd easiest for getting gold and for getting any medal.
  • More than double the average to date of drivers were within 1% of #1.
  • The gap from 1 to 100 was much smaller than usual.
EDIT: Forgot to add my usual personal bit. Ended #141 (2nd best nominal placing), 0.73% from #1 (my closest to date by %) and in percentile 0.10% (2nd best after the Mustang at Laguna). Very pleased indeed with that result.

This final table below is an attempt to show whether TTs were easy (green Event number), medium (amber) or difficult (red).
  • Other than the double dose at Christmas, difficult ones appear to be around five or six apart, so unless this current one is difficult, the next one might be four or five away.
  • Both tuning allowed events fall into the difficult category.
  • Difficult events had either RM tyres (3 of 5) or SS (2 of 5).
  • Every difficult one so far (if we see the double as one) has been preceded by a medium one. Mediums have also been followed by other medium or easy, so not a clear indicator, but as my gran used to say before every trip to the circus, "Beware the Medium".

The red or green in the final four columns are based on whether the outcome was below or above the total average to date. This means previous rankings may change as the average changes over time.
Note that I excluded bronze as an indicator because the proportion bronze is impacted by gold and silver. If it is a very easy event and many people get gold or silver, fewer get bronze, making it look difficult by the bronze measure, when it isn't.
From TT-15 the game acquired more people, it didn't show much in the online rooms, but luckily TT doesn't need PSPlus, and seems to be a good way to earn Cr.
Yesterday's TT I found the easiest of all, and like 30,000/of 140,000 drivers got gold, which shows that most are slow. As Hamilton says, "practice",,, and in 1 year we will have better drivers.

Right I'm into gold again, so far so good. I already hate the lumps on the apex of that first sector chicane... total lap destroyers. I really need to learn to consistently hit those cleanly... I'm losing easy 1 second there I feel. The rest of the lap is a lovely technical section and the car is massively over tyred it's almost impossible to slide.

However... is anyone else getting a game crash when exiting the TT? I've had it twice in a row now.

People.... don't let these kind human-like words fool you all, he's one of them, mate, that was def alienstyle you pulled of there with the Dan-Van  ...:bowdown:

We shall see mon amis! You never know with these wacky time trials but unpopular road cars always give us weirdos more of an advantage than say Gr.3 or Gr.4/Meta cars where the REAL aliens have put in 100,000+ miles in getting to know them intimately down to the last nut and bolt! As always, I feel privileged to have a target on my back and ready to relinquish my crown as 'most annoying improver' in Time Trial lore

Likewise, I'm an opportunist.. That was a once in a lifetime chance at getting close to a world record and being off work at the moment with nothing better to do... it was a good time to take it :D. It was a pleasure doing battle with you sir and I look forward to trading places on the friends leaderboard with everyone else here too over the next two weeks! Let the fun begin

This is exactly it. So many of these top people put more km's into the game in a month than most of us have since it came out (And the ones whose account looks like it has lower km's is usually their 3rd or 4th one!). Especially the Gr3/4 cars that are the daily races every week. Same goes for most of the youtubers who put in as many hours sim racing in a day as most of us do at work. It is a full time job. And even those that have a job, it is a second full time job.

My work is ramping up over the next 2 months and then track season starts so my time on the TT's over the summer will be extremely limited. I'll make sure to get Gold for every one since it's fast easy money but my positions will fall pretty far from the recent ones.

Ahhhh... the good old Chicken of Sausage. Love it and hate it. When you get the line spot on it's amazing. Get yourself 2mm out of line and you're transported to the shadow realm.

I managed a 1:40:5 without "riding the sausages" and every time I followed MCAs ghost I cannot line them up consistently to hit both of them.

Edit: I didn't know about the double shift thing in the Radical :embarrassed:

HAHAHAHA that was a good laugh!! Just like the Van, Dan! Now get back on your spaceship lol

Are you sure your gold time was still gold at the end ? It moves within 3% of the world record, so if the record is improved, the time for gold goes down.
What time did you get? The gold time improved fairly late on so I'm guessing you actually got a silver time at the cut off.
It was the first week that I set the time. So I guess they moved it on me.
Oh well.
Thank you guys.

2498 people lost Gold in just the last 24 hours. Over the 2 weeks it dropped by a full 2 tenths of a second, which accounts for 5178 people.
The statistics help ease the pain, thank you! 🖤
Thank you 2Quick. 😊

Nightwing24

At least I'm not alone in getting short changed. Maybe we should file in class action...🤣
Joking!!
