Welp. I won't be doing better than this. Not only did I finally hit my sub 1:39 goal, I obliterated it. I knew as soon as I came out of the billion apex corners, I was going to be in the 1:38's - assuming I didn't somehow stuff up the final turns of course.


The question is, will the leader pick up more time before the end of the TT and drop me beyond 1%? Probably.

Ladys and gents...... @Dolph Drago has officially left our planet....

Insane times you guys get on the board, I tried this morning again but can't seem to find the one good lap....this morning not even had one good exit out of the sausages in an hour, best S1 time was 29.4xx, not happening today 🤣🤣

Great job! I'm very jalouse 🤣🙏
 
I gave it a go this morning but I was doing so much crap it annoyed me very fast and I stopped. Think I'll settle for bronze, the combo is very fun to drive but the sausages put too much random in sector 1.

I am away next week so...
 
Aha! Away for a bit but settled down today for about 10 laps and finally broke the 1:44 barrier (for me)!! Down to 1:43.7xx so still over a second off silver which will probably be a stretch too far..... again!
Really enjoying this one, car is great to drive and the track is fun. In awe of most of the times here..... 👍
 
Personally one of TTs with most mistakes... What to do 😊 I mean I am happy with 39.5 and being placed just above 1000 out of 125 000 but I know i can achieve even better time so that drives me... But... sausages...😂

I don't know if I'm gonna do this one anymore or not. The durn sausage curb things keep causing my car to do a half wheelie. I think you all know what I mean. If this keeps happening I'm gonna stop for now and just take the bronze. I'd like to at least get silver if I can. I will post my video in the next post, I'm waiting for it to process, I submitted it just now.

How on earth can the alien drivers plan and perfect every turn, braking point and throttle. I wish I hadn't taken a 5-yr hiatus from GT but the reason I did was because I was dissatisfied with gt6.

@half_sourly You know I noticed that part of the mountain too a week ago. We have minds that think alike! I'm about to give up on this. I had luck earning gold in the previous TT, but this, idk.

Well, apparently I have to admit I was flat out wrong. It’s bad enough when you nail the line, no part of your tire touches the sausage yet it launches you, but this was complete $@&&&$ &@$)@@&&.
At no point in this replay does 1 pixel of that tire touch 1 pixel of the orange and yet I got a 1 second penalty! It’s &$@! like this that makes me just want to quit this one.

Yeah after somany laps I still don't get the penalty system on this one, but it seems the game has some trouble figuring it out itself, this morning nailed te saugages, S1 in 29.1 went down the straight, and just before the hairpin already in first got my 1 second 🤣

I find myself trying less because it's to random of nailing it, not happy with it but out of frustrating got my RS5 and blasted it around Sardegna 🤣

I thought for sure I was going to get hit with a 0.5 second penalty on my top lap. In the replay, you can see I dip my right wheels into the grass at the first sausage. Yet no penalty? I swear I've had other laps where my car was positioned further to the left and I still got dinged.
 
I'm at the point were I quickly reach my Pb zone, but never see a single sector record.
Having time I should restart from scratch studying film, at least to figure out the last double left. I see what people is doing when I watch tapes, but then, with the wheel in my hand, I cannot recognize what should I do
 
Despite optimals in the 38.6’s, I am officially done being frustrated with the randomness of this TT. Anyone who thinks GT7 has finally hit sim status need only run this one. I expected to keep moving my goal up until I was out of time but this one isn’t even fun anymore. Anyone else notice the random penalties and ghosts being more glitchy than usual today?
But I hit my goal of joining the 38 club. A bittersweet victory that feels like a loss when 3 laps earlier it was on pace for low 38.7xx when it randomly spun out of the last turn.

Hi,

Having had sausage nightmares for almost a week now, I am into a 1:40:2xx. That puts me at 2:67% (ish). I do so hope that will hold for gold, as I don't think my brain, wrists and fingers, wife, dogs or mental health will be able take any more!

These Time Trials are tough - But that is the idea. They do make us ALL quicker and faster.

The echo's of me yelling downstairs makes my wife laugh everytime, dutch for f#king sausage!!
Then since "the eye of sausages" pointed out by @half_sourly it hunts me, I think it even blinks when I enter the first sausage and get airborn...... I just dont have time to look in the mirror to check If it does....

After 150km AGAIN today I took a different approach, and trying to eleminate the first salami by not having it between the wheels, and wonder how far that can get me timewise..
As for now went from 39.387 to 39.258, not much but got me 256 spots , sitting at 731 again, and I believe I was 987

I'm never eating salami again....... the curse is real ....🤣

What is your sector 1 time with that new approach?
 
This isn't the first time trial to show up issues with the penalty system. The Nurburgring GP one in the Porsche showed that more severe cuts resulted in less severe punishments, and vice versa.

On this TT I'm sensing the same, I get a penalty on the second sausage if I don't cut deep enough!

Happy to have a 1:40.3xx, hopefully enough to stay in the gold, aliens need to relax

I think the penalty system gets confused if the car jumps over a certain height and the game logic has trouble figuring out where the wheels are on the map, and just goes; "**** it, better to be safe than sorry. Here's a penalty :)".
 
Posted 1.39.999 last night. (I knew I had a 1.39 in me). At the start of this time trial I was only engaging with the first sausage. After seeing the sausage free lap posted here, I stopped going near them earlier this week. My record for the first sector is a 29.6 - from my experience anything in the 29's is fast enough for a gold time. If you avoid the sausages, you have to adjust your line quite a bit - make sure you're wide left before taking the first one as tight as you can. If you get the line right you can accelerate immediately and just avoid the second one without lifting. Pretty happy with that time - but still have 3 corners that I know I can improve on - will see if that happens while doing the daily driving marathon for the rest of the week.

If my math is right, the leader would have to drop their time down to 1:37.432. That's a quarter of a second better than the current best. Considering the top times on the leaderboard are all mid-high 37's, I think you're probably safe. Now if an alien or two decides to make a late attempt, all hell may break loose as they try to best each other. It would still be a tall order for any of them to drop their time low enough to take you out of gold, though.
 
Business trip early morning for me for a week so, that will be it for me for this TT. 39:5 and OPT 39:2 but I just can't nail those damn sausages to get it. I would guess PD maybe didn't thought that we would abuse them IDK, sometimes I get penalty, sometimes not, I get irritated and so on. I assume in real life nobody would ride sausages like we try to do in the game.

Congratulations all you aliens who managed 38, that's just really fast!

Hope to join you on next TT next weekend, whatever new TT might be 🤔
 
Not my cup of tea, the combo on this TT. I reckon I could maybe do a low 1.41 but not enough for gold anyway so not gonna bother with it. Car is more fun to drive after latest update but I am still too slow with it. I'll take the easy silver and 1 mil credits though with a 1.41.4.

Will be only my 6th silver though, rest are gold. Silver times are way off gold so yeah been able to maximize my pace on golds, many times beat the required gold times only by a tenth to three tenths mostly.

I rank this as one of the worst TT’s so far out of all 22, and we’re coming from the Alphard at Autopolis, four weeks of utter trash...

The sausage bull and kerb riding with a car that clearly has no business riding kerbs along with the double shifting. Absolutely awful.
