I know there's around 1,700 faster players than me all over the world but it sure makes me smile to see I'm in the top 2% either way 😁
Watched some replays of faster drivers and we take very different lines in certain sectors. I am faster or equal to them in some places but lose a lot of time on the first chicane and the exit after the s-bends compared to them.
Here's my lap anyway 🙂
Plus at 29.5 in sector 1 he is plenty fast enough for gold and gets waaaaaayyyyyy more cracks at getting sector 2 and 3 right then people like me who are constantly on "retry" after the sausages.I see you avoided the sausages like the plague. It may be slower, but it's safe. And smart. Unlike the rest of us.
When I watched Buhdeima’s lap it looked like he had another 2 tenths in it. Would not be surprised to see this one finish in the 37.6’s.First place Bonelli is fighting with himself.. I think the gold target is defined, I'm less than 2 seconds away from first place, it's done.
Don't forget the 1 pixel penaltyWhen I watched Buhdeima’s lap it looked like he had another 2 tenths in it. Would not be surprised to see this one finish in the 37.6’s.
Actually, watching a few fast laps this week confirmed my theory of the sausage randomness. Quite a few of the fast laps put tires over a decent chunk of the sausages with no bounce or kick. Yet other times if 1 pixel of a tire touches 1 pixel of the sausage you are launched or spun.
Nevermind the fact the sausage is going through the bottom of the car …….🙄
The penalties themselves aren't random. If at any point through the first one the edge of your tire (About where the actual contact surface is) hits the edge of the checkered curbing it'll give a penalty or for the second turn it's about 1/10th of the tire width in from the edge of contact surface, definitely less forgiving on exit. When you finally nail the sausages...... the randomness of the off track penalties can be really annoying. There were a few times where I thought I was tight to the sausage with the right tire on the first turn, and tight with the left tire on the 2nd turn...and yet get flagged ???? wondering where is the infraction???
Currently set a 1:40.539 ... Good enough for gold as of writing. I saved the best lap replay and made it public, however I'm not sure how to let people load it as a ghost so someone can chase my slow gold time.Currently sitting just outside the Gold time at 1:40:7xx ...
About 0.052 seconds off, but slowly chipping away at those tenths. So it's just a matter of time before I get it.
My advice for anybody stuck in the silver time is this:
Load a slower ghost - I found a 1:39:4xx to chase and it's more helpful than chasing the 1:37:xxx top time.
Don't restart if you go foul on the sausages - It's good to practice the other 2 sectors even if you mess up.
Sector 1 - go slower through the dreaded sausages, the faster laps seems to take them in 3rd, but I've found being in 2nd helps me more accurately place the car over the first sausage then accelerate to 3rd over the 2nd sausage. Double shift to 5th down the straight toward the hairpin. I was out accelerating this ghost that went to 6th.
Sector 2 - Downshift to 3rd to take the last two turns of this sector. Again, the faster times seem to take it in 4th but I had a hard time placing the car at the apex. Either missing the correct line, or understeering and botch the entry into the left hander. Power out and upshift to 4th.
Sector 3 - Again down shift to 3rd, 4th gear felt too low in the power to exit this multi-right hander section. Power out and double shift to 5th down the straight before the final two turns.
Just a matter of stringing it all together now.
Greetings earthlings. I have lisence to probe. 😂😂😂
Sent you a FR @Saargasm - I’m at 1:39.905 so if you get your three tenths, you’ll move up above me at least! Also, I love this thread! It's given me the purpose I was looking for to continue playing the game. But man, it really lets you know that the people who participate on this forum (especially this thread) really are the exception to the general playing population lol. I have I think 15-friends on the game and 9-10 of you are in the 39-club or below (3 of which are in the 38-club!) I can literally shave 0.4-seconds off my PB (Curr. 1:40.300, so down to 1:39.900) and still not gain a spot lol. Put it this way, as of this post there are a total of 3,173 of 112,171-participants (2.82%) in the 39's or below. 346/112,171 <1:39 (0.3%) and yet 66.6% of my friends board is below 40!! LOL
Thanks!Watched this equivalent to to like 15-times lol. Watched on 0.75-speed and replayed how you did certain turns that haunt me. A couple things I noticed: 1) It comical how smooth you went through the Oscar Meyer Weiners (although will try the upshift to 4th before first one). 2) I've been approaching first hairpin completely wrong and starting my turn in too early and too narrow - I think this section will yield me the most time because I have about a 5% hit-rate on the sausages lol. & 3) I noticed you keep 5-10% throttle on even when braking (almost always) - I'm curious as to why?
Thanks for posting that!

Congrats! What’s your time if you don’t mind sharing700km of try and managed to gold radical tt ;d
For me Bonelli already won this TT. Every time I test I reduce it by 100. Now it's 1.98% in the table and I think stay here. The story of going from 3 to 5 speed on the DS4 pad is not very easy. When I watched Buhdeima’s lap it looked like he had another 2 tenths in it. Would not be surprised to see this one finish in the 37.6’s.

Keen to see it! The Momo design? Or the Giesse one??For me Bonelli already won this TT. Every time I test I reduce it by 100. Now it's 1.98% in the table and I think stay here. The story of going from 3 to 5 speed on the DS4 pad is not very easy.
I made a more or less similar 333SP design for anyone who wants to use it.
Thx 1:40.1x, should be enoughCongrats! What’s your time if you don’t mind sharing
Giesse... Momo ist fine too but I,d like to saw that photo and made oneKeen to see it! The Momo design? Or the Giesse one??
From the moment you make it public or just for friends, you give consent for any of them to download it.Currently set a 1:40.539 ... Good enough for gold as of writing. Yeah, I know the parameters are set, and I realize any thoughts about them varying is subjective, but it is frustrating when you nail the sausages in the "spirit" of also respecting track limits, and still get dinged for a penalty.
Oh, so close to sub 39. I want to get into alien territory! 👽 This lap was much cleaner. Still not perfect by any means - sector 1 wasn't overly great - but a definite improvement over my best.
What's funny is that I ran over 30 laps in the second session before calling it quits, only to decide to give it one more try for the heck of it and end up setting my fastest time on the first lap. I wonder if the distraction of seeing my splits was getting my nerves up and causing mistakes later in the lap?
