Ok then, at first full focus on the Redbull-Ring.
Then if i;m comfortable into gold area i'm swithcing to the Olympic, altho i'm not laying my focus 100% on that, cause i know it's not my thing, High downforce and very fast cars are just more Fanatec orientated  but that doesn't mean i'm not going to try, but it will be the one i put the least amount of time in.
So Redbull and Fuji it is.

This morning went for the first longer stint on the Bull, what a beast that Alfa, i like the way it floats and if it haden't that bit of understeer under breaking on SH tires it would have been the perfect car, agile, playfull, powerfull and it sounds awesom!, that turbo and that shift "click" does it every time for me.

My thoughts after a solid 120km this morning.

T1 def. better for me in 4th gear, sometimes i keep a little throttle on and after the apex so the full throttle feels less "agressive" and that exit makes or brakes your lap due to the long straight after it.

The hairpin T3 i'm not so sure yet, most of the time i only use 3th, in and out, but sometimes it grips like crazy, and sometimes it's just wheelspin, even wen allready straightend out....

T4 is kind of tricky, but most of the time i'm staying in 4th and brake quite early but because of the sloped braking zone is quite hard for me to determine the exact breaking spot each time.

T6 i can't figure out yet, i have trouble getting the car on the apex here, some laps are better, in this lap it was quite bad
and took ages before i could go on throttle, so i lost a fair amount of time here.

T10 is my enemy..... no further words needed........

This session closed with 1:39.627

A descent lap with good room for improvement

The colour on that Giulia is niiiice! What is it??
I'm working on a livery based off the 2023 F1 car using the standard red as the base... I'll show it off next time I do my TT run.

Nice!, i'm curious :)
I'll check the colour when i'm at home again, i havwe no idea what it's called out of my head....., i think it's the age....:banghead:.... 40...... i'm half way maby :lol:

Only had time for about 3 laps of each.

Deep Forest - those floating banners are very distracting and I needed to whack up the TC on the car. Currently about 0.5 secs off silver, should be do-able.

Fuji - tried out the new AMG/Merc. Didn't feel as nice to drive as the old one but straight into silver on lap 1, gold is a possibility though I really don't like the track.

Red Bull Ring - stupid track limits! Car feels okay. All about the corner exits. Silver at the moment, this one my best shot at a gold, need to tidy up the middle sector.

Tried the olympic TT first, but only did a few laps to dip my toes in the water. Haven't really found a line yet as the G010 is rather squirrely on DS4, but will definitely get back to this one to improve my lap time. Don't really see getting Gold here though, yet it's going to be a fun challenge to see how far I get. Maybe I will start to like Deep Forest again in the process. One of my favourite tracks from GT4 that I haven't really re-bonded with.

One silver lap at Fuji in the GT500 Supra later, I was already moving on to Red Bull Ring. To me, Fuji always felt so understeery in anything less than a Gr.2 car due to the many off-camber turns and the lap felt underwehelmingly slow and stiff, especially after the high downforce rollercoaster on DF. Went back with the GR Supra after trying RBR to barely get into gold range with some room for improvement. GR felt slightly better than the GT500, but I'm having a hard time not constantly breaking grip on the RH tyres. Keeping gold might be a challenge for me here.

Golded the Alfa fairly quick. What fun – I really like this combo :)

"Of course we were expecting one environment update, with Deep Forest being decked out in Olympic logos for the Olympic Esport Series" In that sense, levitating banners feel kinda lazy, but at least it brightens the mood with some colors and maybe it fits the esports theme better than "physical" 3D objects...

I'd watched Lester's lap round RBR last night, I'd noticed that he appears to be heel and toeing on downshift, is there any benefit in game to doing this? It appears to make the car slightly more stable under aggressive downshifts into T3, 4 and 9

So much going on in GT7 right now with the upcoming Toyota series and the three time trials it's hard to decide what to focus on. The Olympic TT is gonna be a tough one. The car both understeers and oversteers and the track limits are super strict. I have a feeling this is going to take some time and nerves. Haven't tried the other two yet.

If you want to know how slow you are compared to the Aliens, your focus definitely has to be the Olympics.

All the Aliens will be there - except Igor and Hizal, I presume - and this is something that has not yet happened in these Time Trials of GT7...

For now, I'm almost 2 seconds slower than the Elite. 1:16.948. :ouch:

Just tried the Alfa TT for the first time, it's exactly the sort of car I enjoy driving so was interested in how it'd go, I run aids off except ABS on weak. I loaded a ghost of 1:39 ish to get a bit of a target, and these are the results:

I got a track cut penalty on the 5th lap, but was so pleased with the progress that I had to stop to get a screenshot! Every sector quicker, every lap. This is using the Logitech G Pro and the PSVR2. There is no way I'd have been able to do that previously without the VR, I just find it so much easier to be consistent, to see the right line, nail braking points etc.

There's plenty more time in there, but will leave it a few days to see how the times drop, I'm mostly just in it for the credits.

I've had quite the busy week at work and my son decided to get sick as well. Finally had enough sleep (well not technically, but wasnt awoken by my son multiple times like previous nights) and got about 45-mins in this morning. Did the Olympic TT, haven't seen any track guides yet. LOL I think first 10 laps I did 1 without penalty. Ended the session at 1:18.850, just outside of current silver time. I'll be very happy with a Silver on this one. Ain't no way no how I'm sniffing being within 1.5% of WR time when the leaderboard is filled with the names you drive against in single player and watch in the World Series lol. Makes you curious as to why they don't normally partake in the other TT's. Haven't had the chance to try the other two TT's yet - Maybe I'll try to take a sleeping pill early tonight and get up (stupid) early tomorrow so I can get 3-hours in before I have to adult.

Seeing the pretty universal acclaim for the RBR/Alfa is interesting. I'm not in disagreement at all, might just about be me favorite TT so far, but it's still sports hards and a slippery experience. Not that dissimilar from, say, Cayman at Nurburgring in principle. But I agree, much more fun. How much of it is the physics update and how much the car/track combo, difficult to say. But while I got along with the Cayman rather fine, that one was very much just waiting for the car do its thing, whereas the Alfa you can really drive.

Anyways, got a 1:39:9 on my second go, maybe 15 laps in. So not only fun, but also no grinding required to hit a solid time. This one just might intrigue me to actually see how far I can push it, once I get back home on Monday. Very much a fan of the multiple TTs overlapping as well, even if I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna touch the Olympics. I don't like high downforce, super high speed or... silvers.

The car is such an unbelievable piece of turd. The way you can lose the rear on corner exits is absurd, so you're never sure how much throttle you can put in, and you naturally wanna be on throttle as soon as possible. But with this car, every slow turn is a nightmare.

Only managed a 1:16.4 so far, didn't touch the brake bias yet. I also hate how we're on Deep Forest instead of Trial Mountain, I'm sure that would've been far more enjoyable and interesting.

But we can't have nice things. I'm ready to ditch the TT as soon as I get sub 1:16, since that will be the gold time...

You need to be mega precise with the GR010 after update 1.31, I did notice after the physics changes that lowering the acceleration sensitivity does help the car to get the power down more consistently and gently. Obviously you cannot tune the car for this TT, but I run it in an endurance league with tuning and all and this is what I've found.

I will admit that using my Monza tune (pre update 1.31) for Nurburgring GP with all the hairpins and tight corners after update 1.31 really shocked me how bad it was. The biggest issue was not the aero, it was the car being really unpredictable in getting the power down in low speed with the wrong diff settings.

But for this Deep Forest TT, just gotta get the car straight asap and even then be a bit careful with the throttle.

That won't be the gold cut off. The sweat is strong in this one.

I'm also sure the car isn't a turd :) it's just a very fast nuanced car. I'm no where near the gold time but the car is fine, another 2000 people have gotten it round there quicker than me so I'm not confident in it being me or the car...

That's because you're not driving it fast enough...
Neither are you apparently ;)

Edit:

I'm not the one complaining about it. I know where I am in the scheme of things. What I'm not gonna do is rage against a challenging car on an awkward circuit for it.

I'll drive faster but I have time to do that, I don't need to rush it.

As the parable goes, a young bull and a wise bull cross a hill top they look down and see a field of mares....yes you can run down there and get a couple but if you take your time you can get them all.

Also I suck at this Olympic TT and have zero motivation to do it more that try it and see.

But everyone's mileage varies on these things.

Well, I think I have already secured silver on the three trials.

Really close to gold on Fuji (a track I usually suck at) with the Porsche. First time I've used the Porsche, and being able to floor the gas pedal at turns exit without the fear of a spin has been the key.

I don't know how many times I've spun at the exit of Deep Forest first turn.

So I logged on and had another run at RBR in the Alfa. A few ciders before logging on had me thinking I would struggle... managed a 1:40.5XX! So I'm into gold territory now. 👌

@Gomario JSP here's the livery, still work in progress...

Then I had a go at the Toyota at Deep Forest. Yikes. Four laps, all red, best a 1:20.1XX. This one will take some doing.

Golded Fuji and RBR today so I can put all my focus on Deep Forest. Both were fairly easy and it only took a couple of laps to get within the gold time. Really enjoyed driving the Alfa. At Fuji drove the fastest lap in the Huracan. The new AMG, Renault and Porsche felt fast here too.

Fuji: 1:39.893
Red Bull Ring: 1:38.733

So, my day of GT marathon is coming to a close (over 1000 km of time trials today).
Going away tomorrow and those were only two days I had to do some laptimes around Red Bull Ring and Deep Forest - they will end before I come back.

Red Bull Ring - The Alfa doesn't turn and grips even worse, but damn, how addictive is this combo. Just when you think "there's nothing more to gain", "I'm fighting over peanuts here" and then you run the best line over the turn - not just run, but you know why you ran that way and how to do it again. This moment of clarity is the best in time trials, it gives motivation and purpose to keep on trying.
Managed to get under 1:40, barely. The gold might just stick.
RBRingTT.jpg

Deep Forest - I'm all for Toyota (drive it irl), but this car is broken maybe? I hope the real LMP car doesn't behave that way. Even with TCS at 1 it wants to spin at almost every exit. Yeah, my ds4 inputs surely don't help, but still... We have now at WRS a time trial with Audi R18/LeMans combo and it's a completely different (better) experience of driving.
Anyways, I struggle here a lot, red times bonanza. Managed to get into mid 18s and quite proudly with TCS setting turned off, but there is no moment of clarity here. Probably not enough time put into this. Can't see myself going under 18, so with this result silver won't stick for sure. Oh well. Big ups to my mate @Jeje6410 for great driving with this combo!

Will be lurking around here while being away...
