This morning I was doing some last misc trophies for game's platinum. After I got it, and tired of them, I decided to give TT one more chance after days of not trying - I thought that I can't better then 47.7 I had.

So I did one standing lap, fist time went thorough CoD with full throttle... And here we go, golden time!

Just look how messy this lap was, too early braking at first corner, wrong entry to uphill part, but - full throttle CoD and there is miracle.
1:47.312 lap, 4 tenths improvement.

Happy now!
GT7 platinum and TT gold.

I've been away on holiday so only had a go at this on the weekend briefly. I decided to try my Viper Gr4 first and managed a 47.3 with an optimal of 46.5. I've tried switching to the GTR now and can't get close! Bit weird for me at the moment as I usually get into the top 2000 at least (been top 500 on some of them) currently something like 14,000! I guess I need to spend a bit more time though!

Sorry guys never made a video before….. first attempt 😂

1.45.3....... That is one fast time sir!, and you make it look very easy, i'm still trying to get in the "45 lol, i had given up with a 1.46.141, but if i see this again, how easy it could be, i'want to try again

Great job!

For the people here who have done attempts in the GT-R pre and post-1.20 patch — what’s your opinion on the handling of the GT-R?

Previously I had only done some various rounds in other cars trying to see what I could achieve in those and later on do some rounds in the GT-R but I just gave up after trying to drive that thing after a few laps. The handling is the worst boat dog**** I’ve experienced in a long time.

Hi,

I am no expert, though I have to say my time improved from a 1:46:6xx to a 1:46:1xx after the update. That could be a change in the physics, a change in my method or just plain ole' luck. Equally - As long as I don't stuff it in the wall at the Chicken of Doom, my times are still well below the pre 1.2 levels. Practice practice practice is a useful mantra here. I am unsure about blaming the update though!

Best regards.

Ian.

I still cannot take the CoD flat out like I've seen in some videos. I've tried the M4, the NSX the GT-R, the Mustang.....not once did I manage to do it.

It’s fairly straightforward with the GTR but the entry into the corridor totally dictates your entry into the COD. You don’t want to take too much of the 2nd apex into the corridor, and as soon as you reach the wall turn back toward the chicane and then you can aim for the 2nd apex out.

I just spent over 200km to eke out a gold at 1:47:605, and I can confirm the above. I cut deep over the first apex and then went around the second completely. Head as close to the wall as you can before turning hard left. It’s a ridiculous manoeuvre, but it shaves off so much time.

Sometimes I forget how high the skill level is on this forum. I could probably gain another second if I spent hours on it, but a 1:45 feels impossible.

Don't get discouraged... from time to time it's really just subtleties that make a huge time difference.. In addition, the active drivers in particular know this combination of track and car very...very well. Some/many riders have done many hundreds maybe even thousands of kilometers there not only because of TT but also because of racing in Gr4. and the necessary qualifying sessions. Then there are the dangers Gr3. Running there... These are all very useful experiences.

And then there is the experience of correct braking and steering, especially with the GT-R + knowing which curbs you can use well and which curbs you should rather avoid.

Much more important, I think, is to be able to achieve a stable and consistent lap time. If, as a driver, you don't squeeze the very last bit out of it, but rather drive on safety, but then you can set very constant lap times that are only a few tenths apart... then you can build on that.

lol, i drove 15 laps this morning, my PR was 1.46.141...
I drove a 1.46.142 a 1.46.143 and a 1.46.145........ i'm done
Throwing in the white towel ... you aliens
Just did "some" laps (not just 3,cuz I restart a lot) and did 1.46.270,very close to your´s sir :D

I jumped back on last night to give the GTR another go. Definitely unlocked a bit more of that car for myself. Disappointed not to get into the 45s but I haven't had anywhere near as much time as I usually do. Anyway, this scruffy lap was weirdly my best. Loads of obvious time loss in this one (first chicane I consistently gain like 2/3 tenths now), bottom of the hill (again I can usually gain 2/3 tenths) and the final corner I completely miss it (a tenth or so usually) but yeah can never do it all in one lap.

I´m pretty sure you lost a lot more than a tenth in that last corner...

Guess I should turn down FB a little 😂😂

I thought so too, but most laps where I've done it a lot better the gap only improves by around a tenth... perhaps it's best to say that I personally can only gain 1 tenth in there... most people can gain half a second!

What I found was I'd gain maybe 2, 2 n a half tenths at the Apex, but because the acceleration on my other lap was done with the car a lot straighter it actually carries more speed on the straight and starts to gain back a small amount before the line. Weird one.

Gr.2 at Interlagos. Could there be a better combo? Personally not much rivals that for me.

Love Interlagos and the NISMO GT500.

Really did think it'd be the MP4/4 round Interlagos though in similar vein to the use of the SSS in the subsequent TT post release.

Interlagos, GR.2, RMs

Will have to watch a few top laps to see how much kerb-cutting is required. I like driving this track so may put a few hundred miles into the Xanavi GT-R.
Me too, i think i know the track quite well, but that's what i thought about Dragon Trail  but i learned alot extra on this track!
The GT-R is indeed prob the way to go, 1'23.94 right now.

I wish you guy all the luck for this one :)

You answered your own question there. Senna's Mclaren in Brazil would be

(even if the round that year was actually in Rio)

Prefer the Gr.2s myself. The MP4/4 is novel but does nothing for me, driving it.
