I'm currently well inside the gold time at the Watkins Glen TT, and although I don't wish to tempt fate, the record would need to improve by over 0.6s to deny me a gold, presuming I don't go any quicker.

The time can go down to 1:52.500 and I'd still get a gold. I'm quite surprised, however, that my current time is only good enough to be in the top 15% times submitted, which compared to the LM TT where I managed into the top 7.5% overall, seems quite low. I assume this is because most of the serious players get their times in early... I've already lost about 10 places to people who are on the exact same time because they got their times in earlier than me 😅

I'm stupid at maths so can someone provide the formula to calculate the time percentage for TT, please?

Assuming you are talking about how the % are determined:

e.g. 1:00.000 = 60.000 —> 60.000 x 1.03 = 61.800 —> 1:01.800.

In other words, concert the time to seconds and then multiply it by the TT multiplier (Gold = 1.03, Silver = 1.05, Bronze = 1.10).

If this isn’t exactly what you meant then apologies.

Great and thanks, let me check but it sounds what I'm looking for :)

If you like you can use this

Why are you doing time trials and not eating gelato whilst wandering the streets of the most beautiful and romantic city in the world?

Man I love Venezia.
I do time trials for now and I'll land at Venizia Airport at 8PM tonight and stay there for some delicious days ;)
We agree, Venizia is definitly one of the most beautiful city in the World ♥

If you have gold now and want to see when you can lose it, just take this time and divide by 1,03. In excel just format the cell with time like this "mm:ss,000;@"
If somebody reach the time even 0,001 second better then this, you are out, probably. It depends on how roundings work in PD.

Whew! I ended up not jumping on GT yesterday to improve my time, so I was really hoping my Le Mans lap from Tuesday would hold for top 200. Literally can't get any closer to that. :D

Meanwhile today I pulled down my time at a wet Tsukuba to a 1:08.703. It's a solid gold, however still well down my friends leaderboard. I'm not sure how many more attempts I'll make there. Others love the combo, but I'm not huge on it. I'm itching to hit The Glen, though. I'll leave that for tomorrow.
Nice job!! My time was in the 3'32.000's, so I gave up on this. I didn't have enough patience with the Sauber. What car did you use for this?

Wow the times have dropped since yesterday! Was 300th with a 1:55:4 around 6pm last night and was down to 2133rd this morning 😅

Managed to shave off 0.7 to drop to 1.4% with a 1:54:7 but I can't see how I can break into the 1:53s without breaking my fingers on the wheel 🤣

Hey @half_sourly that is a seriously good lap you’ve done at Watkins Glen. Thanks for setting my next target.
Thank you. I thought I'd do a few laps before going back to Tsukuba where I'd only done a short session to set a time, but got into the groove and stayed at Watkins for 100 miles or so. It was so nice to drive a docile Gr. 4 car after the Group C monster that is the Sauber C9. I had my first spin about 5 laps in; in the C9 I'd have five spins before even getting over the start line once!

Edit: my first session at Watkins went so well I was even in front of @JHop at one point. But then he did his second lap...

Well, that's the Gold time at Watkins Glen now into the 1:52s...

I won't be surprised if it reaches 1:52.500, which is the cut-off point for my current time to remain gold...

Indeed, though I can't exactly recommend wandering the streets...

I'd better find the lot of you with fastest possible laps come monday!

Just try not change anything in time if you end up going too fast.

And bang on 50000, how cool is that. 😀
How coincidental, I got exactly 5,000th place lol

Who would have thought that deciding to stay awake when the dog woke me at 3:45, so I can game, would cause me to be so damn tired end of the day
I was planning on going to bed after putting the kids down (which took forever, since my wife made brownies that they ate before bed) but then my lady gave me that look and said, "let me finish these emails". Figured sleep could wait lol - but I wish I went to sleep because she dragged out so late and ended up going to sleep at midnight. Was knocked out cold, slept through my dog trying to wake me and then he pissed all over the bed!!! Serves me right lol. Can't be mad at him, he's almost 16-years old now - and he walks up on my chest and stands there whining, so I was realllllly sleeping deep

10 laps at Tsukuba TT, went into silver ! Noice ! 1:10:973, optimal 1:10:552

14 laps total at the moment.

4 laps at WC TT, improved a lot my lap time by more than 1.5s but not in silver zone for now, it will be the case with a bit of training.

Record 1:59.465 (which is also optimal lap).

I really enjoy that combo, with my beloved Silvia, I love the noise of the exhaust !

8 laps total.

gosh, you guys are posting a lot of updates! can't wait to fire up the PS again and jump in.
Not long to go, I hope...
I feel like this thread really took-off around the Olympic TT and gets like 2-3 pages of posts per day now. LOL I have to check it during the weekends so I'm not 6-8 pages behind on Monday's!

In new TT with Ferrari 458 : 1'56'569 with optimal time at 1'56'351

I do like that Gr4 car. Need to give her a spin! Tried out a few cars yesterday, but my Jag ghost steadily pulls away from most (aside from Silvia) so far. M4 felt terrible! Merc was so-so. That AR '93 car from the DTM league feels nice, but lacks the top-end speed (hadn't driven it in ages and love the sound). Magine Trophy was quick surprisingly. Need to give the NSX another spin now that I have more track familiarity. So many cars to try!!

I did 20 laps in the Silvia this evening and although I managed one storming 2nd sector that was faster than my best ever, I couldn't beat my PB - bearing in mind I did many more laps than that last night to get my PB in the first place...

So I went back to the F-Type, and I set a new PB twice in three laps  New PB is 1:55.679, which will give me a Gold unless the top time is 1:52.310 or quicker. Weirdly, though, my 'optimal lap' for both cars is practically identical. Somewhat annoyingly, I actually lost about 0.3s on the final sector on my best lap, so I know that I can do better, but I'm now tired, and I have some work to do...

...I need to have a chat with Silvia.

It turns out she just wasn't my F-Type...
