Logged on this morning to see the Silvia dominating the top 6,which was my first choice but my best time was 55.7 in the Ferrari,so i thought i'd give the Silvia another chance, loaded up a 53.1 ghost and boom, went from the 4400's to almost top 1000 with a 54.8.
Happy Friday !

I feel like this thread really took-off around the Olympic TT
That's the time when I subscribed to PS+ Essentials and started doing TT's, to be part of the Toyota Gazoo Cup and are even doing Daily Races, which I never thought I would ever do or enjoy. :)

I did 20 laps in the Silvia this evening and although I managed one storming 2nd sector that was faster than my best ever, I couldn't beat my PB - bearing in mind I did many more laps than that last night to get my PB in the first place...

So I went back to the F-Type, and I set a new PB twice in three laps  New PB is 1:55.679, which will give me a Gold unless the top time is 1:52.310 or quicker. Weirdly, though, my 'optimal lap' for both cars is practically identical. Somewhat annoyingly, I actually lost about 0.3s on the final sector on my best lap, so I know that I can do better, but I'm now tired, and I have some work to do...

...I need to break up with Silvia.

Are You Breaking Up With Me Olivia Wilde GIF

It turns out she just wasn't my F-Type...
Same here, I tried the Silvia again, after all that's the car I use to gring Le Mans 700pp with, have over 15000 km in that car (😮😂), but I have no luck with it on this TT on WG, went back to my F-Type and improved my time once again, Nissan GT-R was a completely disaster, no luck with the Ferrari or the Lamborghini either.

Had a second descent stint on WG, this track is actually super nice to blast around, I'm enjoying it very much!
For me T1 is were I kind of make or break the lap due to the long straight after, and I'm still not quite sure how to take it the right way, same as the last corner, those 2 realy need some work.

I was kind of inconsistent with the Silvia today so took out the Jaaaaaaaag after I did my livery magic on it (I'll upload my lap maby tomorrow) ...

And was surprised how consistent I was all of a sudden, lap after lap in the low 55' and slowly finding some time,

For now I am at 01:54.818 , there is def some time to find, but I realy have to work for it, hell nah I can find half a second now, but we will see what happens with some efford 🤔😅

I did a few laps around Tsukuba to try and improve over my first and only other stint. Did so by moving from 1:09.322 to 1:08.652. The daily ticket then gave me this... Maybe the Universe is sending me a sign to change away from the McLaren 650S at Watkins Glen...

Finally some action tonight
At Tsukuba In the gold by a fart (i wrote the same last Sunday evening and by the morning the fart dissolved in the air, and the gold too...
At the Glenn the same chunk is keeping me outside the gold window. I really enjoy the Glenn. Still to master quite everywhere, particullary first turn, bus stop, and the last two

Tried a bunch of different cars at WG but still not sure which one to commit to. It's clear that Silvia and F-type are strong here but so is the 650S and even Veyron. Currently I've got the fastest lap in Silvia but I've managed to get within 0,1-0,2 seconds in these other three cars aswell. Also not 100% sure where the track limit is at the bus stop so I keep getting penalties which is frustrating.

Looking forward to next week to try and catch up to your time!

Let us know if you figure out the limits. Was struggling with them also.
With the limited time I spent on the track, I thought it's just going to be another case of the sausages.
So it just depends on how the small bump on the right hand side throws your car and how the game logic decides to react.

Learning the basics of Watkins Glen is completed. I get the general idea.
Into gold by a whisker while doing that so it's a plus.

But it wasn't a nice lap, I gained quarter of a second by only nailing the good line and acceleration out of the last corner.
That Corvette (I love this blue livery) has more to offer and I think I'll stick to it some more to try to get into 55s.

I feel like this thread really took-off around the Olympic TT and gets like 2-3 pages of posts per day now. LOL I have to check it during the weekends so I'm not 6-8 pages behind on Monday's!

I do like that Gr4 car. Need to give her a spin! Tried out a few cars yesterday, but my Jag ghost steadily pulls away from most (aside from Silvia) so far. M4 felt terrible! Merc was so-so. That AR '93 car from the DTM league feels nice, but lacks the top-end speed (hadn't driven it in ages and love the sound). Magine Trophy was quick surprisingly. Need to give the NSX another spin now that I have more track familiarity. So many cars to try!!
Hate to say this - but if you are not totally into the daily races, the time trials are the only "content" at the moment. They last 2 weeks, 2 at the same time, they can be challenging and by embracing the challenge driving skills can be improved or refined. Add a competitive element - improve your own ranking or add friends from here and compete against them. Even when there are "good" monthly updates - the new menus are done in days. (Maybe it is time for the Human Comedy part II?)

But the community in this thread rocks - I lurked in these forums from early on in GT7 - glad I got involved, even if my "involvement" is light.

Didn't get much driving done this evening...spent most of the time watching Grand Tour 😂

I went ahead and tried the Jag...just wanted to see what was it about amd end up with a 1:54.8. I seemed to be able to apply the power much easier compare to the others. Still missed a few apex...probably another 1/2 a second there. Optimal was 1:54.3 or something 🤔

You lot didn’t waste your time putting down some fast laps did you!! Managed to scrape into the top 10 on my friends list (yes there are more than 10 people on it), with a 55.398 in the McLaren after maxing out the Boxster with a 56.0. Going to try some more cars since there is so much choice, and at some point return to the Aston Martin now that I now which way the track goes 😂

Just 2 more laps to get my DW. Not much in term of improvement, first lap bad with a penalty. 2nd lap just a few tenths above my record.

I recorded 1 lap this morning to get a sample of my Silvia's exhaust sound, I don't think it has a blender sound, but everybody has his opinion.

15 laps at WC until now.

You can definitely get on the power earlier and more aggressively. I can see a 56s or even 55s with in with that lap by just getting on the throttle earlier. 2nd last corner (the lefty), turn in a bit early so you don't have to brake or lift too much.
