I had a bit more luck today at Spa. Still outside a Gold time, but any progress is good to see.

Thanks to @Saargasm for uploading your lap. A bit easier to chase, but I still can't get a good exit from Eau Rouge. I can't catch up from that, but I have made some pretty incredible recoveries sliding off there 🤣

Nice laps @GlockPants - I'm not going to get a chance in the Porsche challenge until the end of the week. 47th is a great place to start though!!!
 
The spa time trial (I'm re using this for all it's worth)

"You have to go fast, but not to fast then you have to make sure you are going slow enough to go fast. But not to slow, that is bad. So just go fast through it but not to fast and not to slow but make sure you are both slow and fast enough. But the secret to getting it right......oh the F1 is starting soon"

I watched the WR few times, specifically this spot because that's where all those seconds are located! Top one somehow comes out of this part with 5th hitting the limiter, so I knew I could do better here. In the screenshot, i use the puddles as my turn-in point, lift about 50% flick it right and then, most importantly, don't wheel lock the steering and in fact, upon closing replay inspection I was surprised how little I turn (which probably allows me to keep better speed). 2nd screenshot if where I go back to 100% throttle but notice that's the max steering angle I used on that turn in.

I will definitely study this more closely the next two days I have off from work. At least for today, I think the closest I was to you exiting Raidillon was a couple car lengths. But like you said, there's a lot of time gained/lost here.

I would say with regards to catching the car sliding that it's a feel thing I guess unfortunately.. I'm not sure counterter steer assist is necessarily that helpful though? I dunno.. I guess I know what I want my inputs to do and anything that interfers with that bothers me. Practise I guess. Stavelot it's surprising how much you can stamp on the throttle on exit and still carry speed. I use the top ghost and I'm glued to them to Blanchimont.

For the Porsche esports challenge I’d naturally slipped back a bit as more took part in this USA event.

I pulled some time out to be back in the top 200. Still with only a little over 3100 racers so far that’s only top 6.7% so moderately okay I guess. If I can finish out top 10% I’ll be happy.

Spent a bit of time at Maggiore last night. I already had a high silver but just couldn't find the extra tenth or so to turn it into gold. It took 19 laps, but finally got it all together to gain gold with an extra tenth for safety.

Fingers Crossed until tomorrow, and now on to Spa to figure out what I'm doing wrong! 😁

I improved my time from the Supra with the Porsche by 0'022 for a time of 0'51'755 with an optimal time of 0'51'585

it's not much improvement (you tell me) but I knew that I would be faster than with the Supra. And I'm happy

Edit : 0'51'623 with Porsche again 🥳🥳🥳 and I am very very happy 🥳🥳🥳

Ok seems I have to... 2:40.385 now, 2:39.xx is clearly reacheable, but it's hard putting together all sectors right. I can follow each sector from TheKie25's lap time without losing time (except the very last corner), but a full lap is difficult.

Ah man, when I was first on I checked times and I was still in the gold. Now I check and gold is down to 2:40.440 and my 2:40.498 is now silver again. Ugh I knew this was going to happen but now I'm worried they're going to keep chipping away to the point that it might become out of reach. I think I can find maybe 2/10th's with my version of a perfect lap - anymore than that I might get my first silver in awhile.

I think the sub 1:40's are safe, but who knows where we'll end up after the aliens finish their arms race in Belgium.
