Since Saturday I'm sitting in the Spa box waiting for the rain to dry, and for the brand new PS5 to be available for me.
Tomorrow should be the day (plus some deltaT to download the game)

I see lot of improvements from all of you. In my last session I improved a bit, but I'm still in deep bronze area.

I'm expecting at least a 2s improvement just because of the PS5 (better graphics means shiny liveries, shiny liveries means being quicker, this is undisputed rule#1)
Today is THE day, stop procrastinate!!

Spent last hour on Spa… yeah today ain’t the day. Fastest lap was 0.576 slower than my PB and I need to shave 0.408 off that to reach gold. Will give her a go again on Friday (sleep deprivation ya know)

Time to do some daily B and C

I lied. I backed out to the menu and then went back in and did 8-laps. Nope. Should have done races lol. Got two done though. 17/50 complete

This is insane first sector! I was happy at 43.7 lol. With TC1. How you do it? Do you change gear 6-5-6 through the corner?

It matches so accurately, also psychically, I had to use a towel to wipe my sweat lol. And now hoping the WR doesnt change, did gold yesterday at 2.40.040
Sorry...just realized it was a typo. Should be 43.0 :D

I keep it in 5th when entering Eau Rouge and shift to 6th 1/2 way up so I'm less likely to spin out at Raidilon. At the end of the right hand curbs at Raidilon I was doing 223kph. Aside from the small lift before the right going up hill, it was full throttle all the way.

ok! still an amazing time, here is where i lose a lot, probably lift too much. Makes sense to shift to 6th to avoid the spin, happens to me often too. I follow Kie25 ghost and he also uses 6th when accelerating uphill.

There is a puddle at the bottle of the hill....it makes a great turn in reference. When you are going up hill...have your steering as straight as you dare and only to start turning left when you are on top of the hill. Big steering input during Raidilon is almost a sure way to spin out.

Hi guys,

As many of you I got a bit discouraged by the gold improvements over the last 24 hours. Fastest time is crazy quick, and honestly I dont know where I am losing time... pretty sure it is in all 3 sectors.
I believe gold is out of reach for me... I did what I deemed to be a descent lap on Monday in 2:40:318 , which got me into gold region, but yesterday, was out again. I tried to improve putting 350km but couldnt get closer than a sec from my PB.
I have put in total more than 1,000 km in trying, but that one looks out of reach to me. I will try again, but I spend most time spinning / collecting time penalties rather than finishing laps.
Usually, on the other TTs, I only need several laps (meaning less than 50) to get the gold but, here I really dont get the grip on the track. I must have finished around 5% of all the laps I tried yesterday, always spinning somewhere on the track or getting a penalty for track limits. The gaps are huge... there was one whole sec between 1st and 5th last time I checked.

I will give it another try today, to see if yesterday was a bad day or if that is my "normal" pace.

I ll be honest, reading here that other have similar difficulties as I do makes me feel less lonely :D

I'm still checking it every day from my vacation adress here in France but the number one dude is insane, I didnt thought he would find somuch time in such a short amount of time.... I wonder what a safe time will be in the end.. I can't do nothing about it anymore from here 🤣🤣, but if i had the chance I would def try to sharpen 39.407
But I must let it go......., this helps a bit....🤣

Wish you all the speed you need, and for that BSCOMP+ Aphe dude..... please stop now 🤣

2:39.5 on the optimal. Now I just need to string it together…

I don’t think I can live without TC out of the chicane or it just gets stuck in 2nd, but maybe I can toggle it on and off.
OK put in some laps today and got a 2:39.4! There’s a tenth in the optimal but not too bothered. Hopefully it holds!

41.5 for the final sector felt like the difference to me, that chicane is so tricky.

(Just checked, I was 7 tenths faster in final sector, and 1.2 tenths down in the other 2 compared to my old PB lol)

Finally tried the Spa TT, got 2:40.4 after 6 laps, but took a few more attempts to finally hit sub 2:40. The hardest part is knowing exactly how much throttle you can get away with, as well as the turn-in points for turns like Eau Rouge and Blanchimont.
Seriously what is in the water you Fins are drinking!?! Instead of learning to ride a bike as kids, do they teach you how to trail-brake instead??

Welcome in France !!!! 🇨🇵🇨🇵 good holidays my friend !!!!

After an amazing Lake Maggiore, I've started to learn "How to stay safe at Spa" :)

My first laps are more a training about the car and the settings (as I know Spa circuit pretty much).
For now, I use intermediate tyres and TC2. I'll probably down to 1 when I'll have a better feeling and better laps.
After few sessions (3 laps in a row, mostly), I'm in 2:44.007 with a first sector in 0:44.5xx generaly.
There are plenty rooms of improvement and my final objective here is to gain 2 secs to get a secure silver. It should be doable with a regular practice.

For gold and as it is for now, I would need to gain near 5 seconds, which is clearly impossible.

Light improvement here with a new PB at 2:43.648 but honestly, it's so laborious... My optimal is 2:42.748 !
A flat 2:42 could be possible if I'm less stressed and braver on braking points. I'll add a ghost when I'll be more familiar with the car.

For this TT...the braking usually isn't really a problem. It is more less business as usual...pick a braking point and just brake normally. You really gain time on how early and how brave you can pick up the throttle. When I first started with this TT I actually found myself braking too much and too early...losing lots of time 🤣

Well, now that you asked, my friend just released this video 😄

You can also check the vids from current rally world champion Kalle Rovanperä.

These might shesd some light what we are up here in then north. 👍😄😄

Well, we do have candy and pastilles literally named Sisu.
I've got a very vague understanding of the various meanings of sisu (Finnish and Hungarian are two almost entirely opaque European languages for me), and that strikes me as... well, I'm not sure we'd get away with having sweets called most of the English translations.

Not unexpected though

Once again, thanks so much 🙏 for your priceless advices  Yeah, I'm sure I brake too much and mostly, too early.
Tomorrow, I'll try to brake "as usual" and see how it goes. If I can only gain 1:5 sec to secure the🥈, that would be awesome!

Here are both my runs, you can see how bad I'm struggling to get in the gold group. I just don't think i'll be able to do it. I was slightly happy when my time had just got under the silver group so I may have to take the 1M prize, I've ran a total of 450 laps the past week and a half and I am utterly exhausted from it all! Wellthere is nothing else that I can say here. Idk how everyone is getting a strong advantage with the Supra car, it didn't work for me and the MT is hard to keep up with.

I found the RSR and mostly, the GT-R much easier to drive than the Supra. Maybe you could give a chance to these cars.

Have you tried it with another car? I could not break into the gold time with the Supra either. I tried for nearly 50 laps and the best I got was a 52.1xx. wasn't sure what I was doing wrong but I ended up giving up on the Supra. I tried the 911 and within 3 laps I was posted a 51.9xx and I've since improved another 4/10th to safely keep the gold with the 911.

Ok, so I guess I should go back to the Porsche and just try a few more laps, maybe look at a couple replays. Yeah I'm ditching the Supra. It is stiff too when turning and braking.
Yes, test the Porsche on few laps, see how you feel it and if you have good vibes, then load @Mistah_MCA ghost and you should get a gold in no time :)

Maybe you should try to drive in cockpitview so you dont have to wait to get that feel in the replay 👍🏻

First try after 236km on the car 🦾

Yep, Red Bull Junior and BAC Mono are fun to drive from that angle. I do in custom races and free roam, but, in Time Trial, always hood cam... It use to be bumper cam, in GT4, 5 and 6. ;)
