This has been the worst experience for me in any car, on any track, in any game or real life, ever. This car... Where to begin? Braking distances are ridiculous, it's literally like driving on ice, same for the traction, if I don't use TC1, it's impossible to even complete a decent lap without wrestling the wheel like I have a seizure, and if I use TC1, it glows like the new years fireworks through the entire lap and slows me down massively, it's full throttle in 3rd, the car is like "WTF are you doing, I'm going to give you 3% of the power, just so you can climb here, not more".

The sound is terrible, why does it stay in 2nd at the start of the lap (when it autodrives?), I have a burning desire to vomit instantly when I hear it struggling in high revs. I don't even know when to shift because it has a turbo from a 0.9 litre engine, it drops the pressure faster than a punctured baloon.

And handling wise, jesus christ, the downhill is like "you want to slow down a bit? haha, spin".

Nevertheless, I'm pleased with this pretty rounded time, but I must say on the first day - I won't be competing with you guys here on this TT, I will just improve the time to secure the gold and that's it.

Well, I found gold with a 14.8 even though I biffed the last turn (I swear I can't find the proper braking distance on some of these turns) and went a bit wide; that probably cost me .250" which would have made me feel much safer. I hope it sticks as I don't want to come back to this one at all. The top guys are going to have to find ~.38 and I will be very nervous. I am fine settling for silver on my other two accounts, which they currently are as this combo is not for me.

The Maserati thing is insane, ihonestly I really don't know why they made her so...well, I mean, I hear you when you say that she brakes like a road car, ok...but ehi, this car isn't braking at all! But aside that, is easy to fight bringing forward the brake point, but the handling is crazy and the sound...well, it's a pity in my opinion cause the car is so beautiful, and in the wild is crazy, tomorrow I'll buy at brand central and try to tune for some track to see if she's ok or not.
I'm bronze right now, I can't remember my lap but is shameful, I did the esses so slowly I could have come out of the car and run away...the penalties for touching the walls instills the real fear :P
But I like this TT, I'm gonna take another shot at it tomorrow.

Also bronze in the Movie TT thing at Red Bull Ring, I'd need a smidgen to be silver...

The High Speed Ring time trial was easy peasy. The LM55 is fast car with plenty of grip and the track is a simple layout that doesn't require much skill to get around. Best time was a 55.355. I also had a crack at the Red Bull Ring time trial, which wasn't quite as easy because the GT-R can get quite loose if you step on the throttle too soon. One thing I did like, and one thing which should be done for all time trials moving forward, is having your lap invalidated when you overstep the track limits. It's far less invasive than a slow-down penalty, which can sometimes ruin the start of your next lap. Best time was a 1:30.414.

Oh yeah I'm on a controller because I'm a peasant.

I almost agree 100% ... I'm not sure why PD has the invalid lap on certain courses. At least on the current MP TT, the penalty zone is in a spot on the track that doesn't affect the next lap.

The only thing I could see going wrong is there could be an instance where you wall ride or cut the final corner to gain higher speed at the beginning of a lap. I'm not sure if there could be a way to specifically code a penalty on the last turn also invalidates the next lap.

It actually does invalidate your next lap if you overstep the track limits around the last corner.

I like Mount Panorama, too bad I don't know how to drive in it.
It's a track loved by many so it's a good opportunity to learn it in detail.
The Maserati is fantastic to drive and I liked the time of day too.

Currently Gold, with 2:15.080 :)
Are we driving the same car? 🤣
I did spend 300km today trying to like it, but I still don't 🤣.
MP is such a great track, I just wish I had a little more grip and LESS understeer 🤣
I like the challenge tho!, and found some some peace driving it, still of gold with 15.3 but not worried yet 😊

This is a common feature within any F1 game's Time Trial menu. If you were to run off the track or even touch a wall close to the main straight or on the final corner of the lap, the next lap gets invalidated just to make sure you haven't gained any speed advantage before starting a new lap.

Mate he's so happy & positive because he's already witin the Gold margin. Had he been in the Bronze margin, I bet he would've echoed your very same words.

100%

Slow down penalties make no sense in TTs at all. A majority of the penalty gates are at the worst imaginable places, slowing you down for the final straight and next lap. What a dumb way of ruining gameplay. At times this kills the vibe so much, that I just quietly exit GT7 and switch off the PS4.

And above wondering why the slow down penalties are carried over from Sport races, I still scratch my head about the inconsistency here. After the invalidated lap time system was first implemented in the Olympic (?) TT, I had high hopes it would stick. But no, for whatever reason it's being held on to the annoying slow downs on “regular“ TTs.

If you've noticed all of those penalty markers are on the straight about in the middle or just before middle of the straight. This is to basically nullify any advantage a player would've gained by cutting a turn or running across an apex.

Nonetheless, time penalties are infuriating. Just nullify the lap so it's over there & then.

Hi all.

This morning I put in safe my time in Mount Panorama (1.14.7xx hope it resists until the end).
I can go to holyday without worry.

A big thank to @half_sourly for his immense work about statistics.
And a big thank to @Tidgney for his very precious driving suggestions.

I like this TT community very much.
Wait 1.14.7xxx ??? You're faster a full minute than the worsts aliens... :D
