I know several people who have driven the MC20 in real life. It definitely is not like it is in the game.

I'm not sure what tyre a Sport Hard is meant to be in real life? I had a assumed something like a Michelin Pilot Sport 4, with the Cup equivalent being Sport Soft perhaps? Or is a Pilot Sport actually a Comfort tyre, and the Cup a Sport?

Those saying that road cars don't have good brakes on road tyres must have very limited experience.
My guess is sport soft is equivalent to road legal slick, Cup is sport medium, normal high performance ZR tires are sport hard.

Based on the general sentiment in this thread since yesterday, I'm glad I decided against playing this morning. Quite tired from a slog of a work week, kids school starting yesterday, mowing my lawn in (feel-like) 115-degree (46-C) temp yesterday evening and I just didn't feel up to it.
But who are kidding here??? We all know we'll give it our all to the last day as we always do lol. Dan will finish top 100, DJ Ali top 50, 1/2 sourly will quietly place top 100 and I'll end up <0.15 short of Gold lol. We'll keep improving overall and attack the next one

COME ON!

What seemed impossible yesterday, with a bit of practice and sore shoulders and knees:

TC0 is definitely the way to go, you just can't climb the hill with TC1, no way, too slow. But feathering the throttle and just letting the car slide a bit, finding the rythm and feeling the weight transfer did the trick. I actually hooked up couple of laps in a row without hitting the wall, and this best time was with the average first sector (19.7, I did 19.5 couple of times), and I was maybe too careful at the end, seeing my ghost in the mirror far away, I just wanted to not screw up the lap. I guess with everything lining up, 2:13:5xx is my maximum, and I will try again :)

I've decided to focus my TT efforts at the HSR while it's still active. I'm certain that Gold is secured, but I find these short and fast laps addicting.

Decent progress today, though. First time back since I set my Gold lap on Day 1. I knocked 0.3 seconds off that time, with another 0.1 potential on the optimals. No wall riding, mind you. I'll have to watch some more legitimate fast laps to see where I can make up more time. 0:54 might be possible?

After 1 hour & 15 minutes of play, improved my time from 1:19:253 to 1:17:717. Ironic thing is I had none of my best sectors on my best lap. My hypothetical best lap could've been a 1:16:9xx so there's room for improvement.

Even though I've not made such a jump to even enter Silver range, it's fun to drive around & learn more about the car's handling.
Which TT is that? Or 1 minute should be 2 minute? 🤔

I just hate having to deal with this on the heels of the Viper challenge. These cars are an absolute pain in the ass to drive.
Quite liked the viper, and I hate drifting!

Well all I can do is just accept that other people are way better and faster than me, it's no point in griping about it cause it's taking my energy. I need to conserve it to be the best driver out there.
I will not accept that anyone is faster than me, I will accept that I very rarely perform at my best, to accept your beaten is contrary to all that makes up the sport. Yes you should be able to make way for someone gaining fast on you in the race but that is race craft, not capitulation.

Guys.....I see amazing timing at Mount Panorama here, I've tried once again tonight but after 10min I called it a day, I need an evening with more free time to spend in it.
So I tried again the Red Bull Ring and improved to 1:32:019, isn't great but I shaved more than a sec in a day, I know that there's 40-50days left but I feel I can get to gold in this track

Managing a 1:29.356 at the RBR that was after a decent amount of grinding. Not sure if sub 1:29 is possible, but at least the track isn't overtly long. Time to see what the Mount Panorama is all about.

Edit: Holy crap that was insane. Pulled a 2:14.620. It's so easy to overdrive the car yet you feel like you have to almost drift around.

Dang!...This is more tiring than a 3k run. At the end of the lap, my arms, my hands and my left leg are all shaking and I can't even do another lap after. I had an absolutely bonker 2nd sector! Not even sure how I managed that. This SOULD be safe for gold....let's hope....

While the last 2-3 pages here have been about MP, I quietly had my first session around the RBR today. 1:29.548. A tiny bit easier to drive the GT-R than the Viper... With so many days left in that one, I will come back to it later. I can definitely best that. I got very sideways off the final corner and lost at least .150 seconds which was especially annoying since I had a super fast sector 3 the preceding lap. My goal is to hit the 1:28's.

Not sure when I'll back to HSR. Maybe a day or two before that one ends. Even though it isn't a TT I particularly have enjoyed, I'm going to push to get under 55 since I'm only .051 away.

I will reserve judgment of the MC20 until I give it a go tomorrow. For whatever reason, I seem to do well in slippery slidey cars. Some of my best TT results have been in the GReddy Fugu Z, Viper, Red Bull Jr, Corvette at Watkins Glen, NSX at Daytona, and the Mustang. Hopefully the trend will continue. :)

Man I’m cracking up at the people who say this MC20 is crap and it’s on crap tires.. I think PD nailed it.. There so many factors going on and I think people are forgetting… first yes this is a hyper car/supercar but it’s not a track oriented car like a 911GT3RS. Second this is Bathurst we are talking about… one of the most challenging track in the world… I mean you have to be kinda crazy to go full out on this track especially in a league race or online competition. Third agin the MC20 is a great car especially for the streets but still it’s a handful to handle! I Run a league with close friends and family and I have serious OCD in trying to get every car to replicate it real life counterparts… The MC20 OEM tires are Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires and while they are great street tires… they are not track tires.. Sport hards imo fit the car perfect.

I have watched hours of videos on this car and all the people who review the car say the same thing… it’s a scary car… some were saying how the brakes were weird and how they initially don’t bite giving the driver less confidents… some were explaining how the suspension is also underwhelming and how the car has too much power… the chassis has no problem but it was the suspension giving drivers less confidence in pushing the car. These people also had the traction control on and other nannies helping the car stay stable and still they were explaining the cars a hand full, which reminded them of the 90’s supercar…. Fast and Dangerous.

If you factor in all that and add to the pot everyone driving the car is going 12/10 No electronics… on one of the toughest track in the world why are some shocked? This challenge is really testing the driver skill to tame this beast to get the best out of it. This car will not help you in no fashion to get a gold time nor the track, they both are against you and I love the challenge. I am only in the 2:16 with 10laps of driving… so I have a lot of work to do lol!

Loved the vid. As of now I've been using A/T wherein at some places the car goes into 2nd gear & that makes the car twitchy. Today I'll run with M/T & try avoiding 2nd as much as possible. Will keep it there on 3rd for a smoother ride.

Yea bro from watching the fast guys you need to up shift coming out of the turns fast.. helps keep the power down and the car stable good luck!
