Bettered my best time to 2:16:186. I had a best time of 2:15:782 but on that lap I had incurred a penalty in the last sector so time didn't count. My Optimal has now reduced to 1:14:9xx so this shows how far I am from nailing my best time & sectors combined.

I played for 1 hour & 45 minutes but kept taking a breather for 5 minutes in between by pausing the game. I completed 49 laps or so & it was fun but in the end of the playing slot, imo it feels quite impossible to get your best out. Most of my best times I've achieved in the first few minutes of my gameplay or maximum, in the middle of my game time. Towards the end, my mind is exhausted & my positivity gets nullified.

One last peek at High Speed Ring... and improvement:

Still not satisfied with first sector on that lap (could easily shave a tenth), but it's ok. Good time trial.
Off to relax!

For what it worth about Suzuka TT

I've worked a bit on Suzuka CE to be prepared for the TT and here some infos that might be helpful for most of humans players.

The full lap demo is at 1:48.946:
Sector 1: 0:30.376
Sector 2: 0:48.921
Sector 3: 1:29.075
These times are a good indicator for your laps tomorrow.

The Top 10 on Suzuka CE is at 1:47.xxx and I won't be surprised to see the aliens at this level.
So if I'm not wrong and if my calculations are correct, any score below 1:50 should be in gold.

May the 4th be with you!

Is it fair to assume that older gr. 2 cars like CLK LM stand no chance on Suzuka?
Not sure how they are set up under BOP, but I imagine newer have more downforce which will be useful.

Anyway, I am just hoping RS 5 is not the meta - do not want to spend half of the lap holding that DRS button 😂

Does anyone have a walkthrough video of High Speed Ring, I'm at 0'56.411, I'm hoping to get to the gold time, I've got to chip a few more seconds off my time.

I watched all of those videos yesterday, worked for me...

Not everything is useful for me, like gearing and such, but the lines and braking points should be useful

Load a fast ghost and chase it. All the tutorials are awesome and I always watch them to see different techniques and they've really helped me with my consistency, but I always seem to find the time I need chasing a ghost and working my pace up. I'm sure it's not the best thing for everyone but it really helps me sometimes.

Had an hour or so session at Bathurst. Down to a 2:12.996. Frustratingly I was up 3 tenths coming into the downhill and got nervous as my contacts were giving up on me so was overly cautious and came out of the level with my best, knowing I'd made a mistake in the final turn, so only gained 2 tenths. Optimum showed a 2:12.5.

Alright, got into the 2:13's! There are two spots I know I lost time. Turn 2 - I've found keeping it tight helps tremendously. I got too wide and had trouble gaining traction and eventually crossed over the left curb. A good tenth and a half at least there. Final turn - I got nervous and braked too early. This caused me to catch too much of the inside curb, and in my haste to get out of the corner I got onto the throttle too hard and spun up the tires. Probably another tenth lost. Oh well. There's another week to clean up my mistakes. And I'm not worried about falling out of gold anymore. :)

I wanted to try to get within less than 1% of the top time since this would probably be my best ever shot to do so (unless we get a TT at BMB Superspeedway or Northern Isle). I'd originally set a time that was good enough almost 2 weeks ago, but today that time was 1.07% off the top time. After 75 miles, I managed to set a 54.74 to put me within 0.90% of the top time, which should be good enough to hold with only a few hours left.

My replay above isn't a tutorial per se, but if you skip to the 2nd half of the video it's in my driving PoV with telemetry on to hopefully give you an idea.

Nice attempt, man! I’m a little bit ahead but not by much. You did the first sector with the awful T2 corner really well (I’m 0,110 after you already at the end of S1). You went a tad deep in the right corner after the bridge though and I think I carried a bit more speed through the kinda tricky final corner.

All in all, somewhat enjoyable but equally frustrating, this TT. I think the Mazda LM55 VGT feels really good on High Speed Ring, the issue is T2 which is a stupid corner for reasons we already know. Look no further than some of names in high positions where they usually aren’t and see how T2 is handled in aforementioned attempts. Penalties cannot be so random like they were in this TT, it’s quite unbelievable to be frank. Given that HSR with this corner is what it is (unless redesigned) you have to penalise every single wall touch, no matter how minor. Championship limits. Don’t let it go borderline farcical.

Anyway, for a long time I was stuck at 0’54.821 but eventually, on lap 100 in the session I was in, which I thought was pretty funny, I got it down to 0’54.690. Satisfied. I would’ve settled for anything on .7 at that point but managed to string a pretty nice lap together.

Oddly enough, that was my best middle sector of the night, even though it definitely looked the sloppiest. Somehow actually hitting the apexes on my previous best lap was about half a tenth slower.

I did indeed take the final turn a bit slowly. On previous laps when I'd been ahead of my best time, I always managed to get sucked into the wall there, so this time I lifted a bit too much.

Suzuka Gr2
Pure pleasure 😊
Five laps and gold.
Car is on racing mediums, sticks to asfalt and behave how cars should.
Go for it now!
can't wait to give it a try, finaly that HSR is gone, i golded it a ran....., never to return back
I have never been that low on my leaderboard but could not set myself to hunt for tenths on that one lol.

Just a curious question:

What does the player who finishes first in the overall rankings of the TT get after that TT is over? Extra monetary reward or some additional recognition? Do the top 10 players also get anything apart from the $2m?
