After many miles and a myriad of expletives, I finally got under that damn 55 mark at HSR and am DONE with that awful TT. You can see how long I was off the gas before the exit of the turn before the bridge. Any time I tried to apply the throttle any earlier, it meant a trip into the wall. Thankfully, I put together a solid sector 2 which turned out to be the difference.
Even though I was happy I hit my goal, the game couldn't help but troll me with this. Thanks PD, exactly what I wanted with my 4 star roulette...

Messed up the corner right before the forest elbow and ended up having a very average 3rd sector. That could've been a 2:13.8.....

I mostly use A/T as that's one task less which I've to otherwise perform whilst passing inches to the walls or getting the braking right in order to get a good lap.
Just wish like F1 games, there was this option where even in A/T, you could override the gear by upshifting or downshifting if you're close to the threshold of the gear shift speed. For eg; the start of the uphill climb where we have two successive left handers. At the exit of the 2nd left hander in A/T, it usually is 2nd gear but in M/T, 3rd gear is usually chosen. With the semi-automatic way, I could just at the exit change the gear to 3rd & let the gearing then keep changing automatically going uphill.
The semi automatic way is damn helpful in the rain too.

Right, i never had a more terrible session at MP than this morning 
it was almost if i had inters on it or something, could not hit apexes, lost to much time on the first straight again and again and when i was ready for the hill i got somany penalties beeing to far to the right before the hairpin it wasn't even funny.....
it was so bad i went sightseeing....
Then went over to check the leaderboard...., @Dan_Tes this is not what we agreed on, you hate this combo, this guy casually flighs into the 13's like he's in the air....
You always talk about my nokia setup.... ( wich is now 1080 due to the PS5 btw ...but there is still some delay on controller it seems so tv is still far better ...)
But i don't trust you!

At 1:30:373 at the RBR and very sure that will be a gold until the end. That time of 1:28:061 is crazy, honestly. Is there a video of it? I definitely know I lose 2 tenths on the first turn (playing with the controller) and some 2 tenths in turn 4, so I can definitely reach the 1:29, but I just can’t see how to get that time.

I like this combo and hate it simultaneously. Took me over an hour to even get within 1-second of PB. As is par for me, last 20-mins of session my brain decided to remember how to drive. I know I’m going to get this, I just do!
Set new PB with 5-mins to spare improving by -0.366. Still need to find 0.724, so still a tall task but on this track, can easily be found if string them together

What a strange thing is happening with me since the last 3 days..............
My best time is 2:16:483 & after about 1 hour's worth of playing today & the last 2 days as well, my best time was 2:16:5xx i.e, just a tenth off my best time. So frustrating.
And on all these 3 days of playing, my optimal time has always been 2:15:5xx. So I'm consistent in being one tenth off my best time & in my optimal times but just not good enough to best my best lap.....

Hmmm....an interesting session. I didn't set any fastest time, but managed some very good 1st and last sector (if I managed to get that far). I was doing mostly low - mid 19.6s for the 1st sector, and a few low - mid 19.5s in the mix. I was mostly exploring the 2nd sector and did some really good time at the tight double left, but seem to lose a bit of time going up the hill. The beginning of the downhill sector is where it kills me the most. I can't quite find the right braking point, but if I did, I would have an amazing 3rd sector in the 34.1s or even 34 flat. The last sector was fairly consistant at mid to high 31.1s...the best I did was a 31.001.
So basically I can at the very less match TheKie's first and last sector (and best him with some good dice rolls)...2nd and 3rd I'm off by a few tenths unless I landed a 6 on my dice than I would match him. So if I somehow throw a 6 4 times in a roll I can be in the 2:12s 😱

Sector 2 remains a mystery, especially the three fast left handers and the following braking zone. Bettered my time to 2:16:195 which is about 3 tenths faster than my previous best. My optimal has lowered as well to 2:15:2xx.
I switched off ASM & Steering Feedback & drove on M/T. I had bettered my time from 2:16:483 to 2:16:361. I then switched to A/T & couldn't keep up with my ghost through the uphill & back straight sections because A/T takes you to 2nd gear at places which isn't ideal.
I then switched back to M/T & could better my time to 2:16:195. All this because M/T allows better stopping power (engine braking) when compared to A/T.
After completing 29 laps in the evening now, I'm happy I could better my best even if 3 tenths only. This is a fun TT.
