The Audi VGT runs out of hybrid before you've made the start/finish line on the opening lap, so I don't know if it makes much of a difference to restart with that! But I'm assuming that's the 919??

Sounds like I need to watch some videos and get some time in the 919. Now - buy or rent?
Personally i bought all cars long ago so i only drive with my own garage cars, i don't care about milage, they need to be driven so i'll smack a livery on it every time and drain the oil during timetrials
I did use it for the Atlanta race with the 24 hour timeframe tho, but that is the only time i used it, i don't like the way it drives but that might be my personal problem with the high downforced spaceships :lol:

it seems that we need to restart after every lap, since battery drains, check that if you want
You can do 2 laps with 919, just need to charge the boost with brake. Best way to do this, is keep throttle floored and give small brake input before you really need to brake.
You can even do this in T1, so no lift and manage the speed with brake.
Only problem with this is, that it seems to be really easy to over heat the front tyres. But you will know, the understeer is something else

@half_sourly Hey mate, if it's not too much trouble can I please get my individual results for the time trials please. You don't need to add me to the leaderboard but I'm trying to remember back to what I got in some of the early ones. Cheers 👍

Here you go.

Is it bad sportsmanship to defriend someone because you’re second on your friends list after the best lap you can possibly imagine?

Given that the LMP1/RA combo may as well be called “The Dragline”, @djolliea has severely dented my self esteem.
Sorry to hear that man. We are all different, so is it bad sportmanship or no, I can not tell you. I have maybe 50 people on my leaderboard and most of the times many of them are in front of me. I am happy to see them on the leaderboard even if they are in front of me, because when I started TTs I was ending up on P 20 000. It was the best lap I could possible do, at that point in time. If I removed them I would be first on my leaderboard but be on P 20 000 in world. I continued pursuing faster people and getting faster and faster, being motivated just by those people in front if me. After a year I finally managed to finish on first page on world leaderboard, and I was not motivated by world leaderboard but actually friends leaderboard, which at the end I managed to beat at least once, many of them. Now there are again many TTs when I am again far back behind but I keep watching who of my friends managed to get license time on Nordschliefe and I am continuing to chase them. Ninjas, you know who you are, thanks for being there on my leaderboard. If I dont catch you on current TTs, maybe I will on future ones. Good luck everyone!

Thanks for the thoughtful post.

My original was very much tongue-in-cheek. I actually get a big kick out of seeing so many from this forum on my list, and having them ahead of me is neither unusual nor dispiriting.

This one is unusual because I’m currently 179 in the world, well above where I would normally be, and yet I’m still not 1st on my own list. I actually find that perversely funny.

And as I post this I notice that @djolliea has increased his lead. The dude is a maniac freak!

I've got a load of you guys in this forum thread on my friends list and I'm therefore often between 23rd and 30th! I'd be defriending a lot of people to get into 2nd place. :D

Amazing to be ranked 179th in the world, even at this early stage. Nice work @D_Dragline !!

For me, it's is one of the reasons to have filled my personal leaderboard indeed, the competition has become real because all of them here there a so many insainly fast guys, @djolliea is always on top of my list, but he eats tarmac for breakfast and he speaks curb.
I love the fact that i turn on my PS5 and the first thing i do is check if someone in my list has made progression, often seems to be high up so i'll have to push myself again to "trying" to get close, but i friended a lot of dudes that are faster than me like always   , but hey... it makes me wanna try even more!

Just got back from yet another few days away..... sheesh, work, who needs it!......and pleased to see that whatever the latest TT to close was (the Dragon Trail I think), although I came absolute bottom of the GTP list, again, I still kept a bronze.
Now stuck with TWO where a bronze is going to be a significant challenge for me..... the Ring and this Gr. 1. Holy moly, how do you people get cars around there so quickly??? Well done to you all.

I'm working on the weekly update, but in the meantime, here are your individual results (I have to produce this table for people new to the leaderboard, so may as well share it with you). @djolliea might finally have some stiffer competition at the top of our community leaderboard!

Amazing! Really cool to se it all totted up like that.
Do you compose this spreadsheet manually or do you have some sort of program for it? Eiter way, top work!

Talk about finally beating mighty Djolliea and being very first on our leaderbord and.... Erazer joins the leaderboard ...
Yeah... sorry about that... Hi!:D

Anyone is free to correct me, but I think I still have the highest average position out of all players who have done all TT's.
N.Romero is 2'nd I think, would be cool to get him on the leaderboard too :gtpflag:

For fun, and after seeing your post, I tried the new TT with pad only.
I'm not a pad player, but I still managed a 1:06.538 with it. So pad players can definitely do it, if I can get to close to gold with a pad, it's a no-brainer for experienced pad players.

For me, the wheel will be mandatory for this TT for sure ^_^
After many, many, laps I've got a 1:05.8 with an opt. of 1:05.5.
Because you can only do one flying lap and track limits are a big deal, often writing off the following lap, it's horribly time consuming.
Controller sensitivity 8

Definitely not a no-brainer.

A combination of the two, but it is mostly automated. My Excel skills are not good enough to update from the 45-ish workbooks to the workbook with the driver results, so I have to open and close them, but other than inserting the driver profile (well, a truncated version of it, as Excel does not seem to like things that start with http), that is it.

My first non-red lap (3rd in total) of the nurb was set whilst having to pause on any straights to entertain my 6 month old. I got exactly the gold time. Please can there be no improvement so I don't have to go back?
You of all aliens will have no problem to grab that certificate right?!, you are not going to get it? 😭

*never mind 😂👍👍

I like Road Atlanta, but struggle a lot with Gr1.
Other than missing the apex an the turn leading to the back straight I have the feeling that I'm too late or enter too fast ij each corner generating understeer

I think it's a safe silver and gold is not achievable

Some tips,

First turn, you slow down too much. First chicane, follow the left hand curb and turn in just before curb ends. Exit 4th, you can use quite alot gras after the chicane.

On the right hander to back straight, you turn in way too early, this forces you slow down to stay on the track. Follow the curb on the left, turn in at the end of it. Exit the turn with 4th gear, this way you can go on the throttle way sooner. You may need to sacrifice little speed to get car pointed to th straight, but its well worth it because youll carry so much more speed on the straight

On the last chicane, cut the first turn, exit second with 4th gear.

Fix these and I would say that you are flat 06, possible 05

edit: I shared my lap in the game Title is RA TT, for some reason I cant download it to youtube atm

I was typing a whole story but i see @sdi_03 said it all already, it absolutely not a bad lap mate!, just some finetuning needed, little braver on T1 and exits in 4th should net you some real time!

Still early in the TT, keep trying and you got this!

Alright, had a bit longer session today at Road Atlanta in the Porsche 919. I must say it's not my favorite TT and reminds me of the one with the X2019 (at RA) a while ago. That T2 is still a pain in the arse, and so is T4. The visibility is not the greatest in the Porsche in VR which made things even more interesting.

PB: 1:04.759. I'm quite happy with that and don't think I'll come back to this.

Back to the Nurb! I went about 2 tenths better than last time, though scraping the inside of the wall on the final turn didn't help. :ouch: I'm just glad I didn't have my time invalidated. It is insane how close some of our times are, though. The lap times are in the 7:40's for a good chunk of us, and somehow my (relatively) small improvement allowed me to pick up 5 spots on my friends leaderboard. I can see that on a 1:40 lap, but that's just nuts on a track this long!
