Decided to try the Road Atlanta finally, and after one session I'm happy :) Needed to recalibrate my brain a bit after the Ring, but I think I'm done with this also, maybe I could have squeezed another tenth or two, but 1:04s I think are out of reach for me.

Suzuka certificate is next :D

Ideal you should turn it to zero, very doable in this civic, just learn the moment the boost kicks in, brake balance is not ajustable on TT's , and indeed, MT, learning that will benefit you all through the game, I think some races in game are almost impossible in AT? ,

Go get it Chris!
Thank you for the encouragement, it really keeps me going. I know we are protected by God/ the universe.

I continue to drop my time at the Nurb, but there's still more to gain. The biggest mistake this lap was getting too deep into Aremberg. I was well off my best time through sector 2 but continued on anyway and ended up easily beating my previous. Go figure. Cutting in too early on some corners causing me to bounce off curbs and a completely flubbed final turn where I turned in a mile too late ate into my time a bit. I licked that certificate a few days ago. I can almost taste a 7:43 now! :mischievous:

Maybe after the mistake you were more relex? I got my best time after I semi stuffed up some corners too :dunce:

There is definitely a 7:43s in your lap there!

Here is my 7:43s (barely) lap for reference.

I'm in the 1'09.000's at the Michelin TT. It's not hard but the first sector can be dangerous and risky to drive fast during it. I guess from here on out all the TT's will have an invalidated time penalty meaning that the clock turns red when someone makes errors during the session.

A noob question.....

In the Road Atlanta TT when I drive the 919, my battery is already around 25% & doesn't get much higher throughout the lap. For the time being I'm driving with A/T. I haven't tried the cool lap method but do I also need to drive on M/T for better battery storage to deploy?

P.S. - I've got L3 button for nitrous/overtake but I don't need to use it as the battery gets used by itself. Is the usage of battery power automatic or manual like how we had ERS in F1 10 years back?

I don't think MT would make a difference but don't know.

Hybrid comes on automatically over a certain speed and when you are pointing straight forward.

What does make a difference to battery is, when you start from a restart, immediately put the brakes on 25 percent and keep it up even as you go through the esses and up the hill, then let it go as you go over the crest. You're starting speed will be slightly lower (about 155mph for me), but your battery will be around half to two thirds full, enough to get you through the lap.

I have been bad, the curiosity was to big....I took a look at Suzuka aswell 🤣
My brain just cant work with the fact that I have 4 tt,'s on my screen and 3 were gold and one not participated.....
I did 5 laps, pressed exit and strangely got 4 golds now 🤣, for a moment I felt 17 again.....
This is the most illegal thing I have done in years 🤣 (besides driving to fast)
I'm not going to hunt for the certificate though, that belongs to the kids from 0 to 4 🤣

For me this was a lot easier to gold than expected, but must be the tripplegazillionmillion miles I already have done with the car on the Ring?

#imverybadtoday 🤣🤣

Three laps of the 'ring for a 0.4 second improvement. Puts me under 7:48 but I'm in that place where you're looking for big chunks of time in sectors and they're not coming. This is the worst case as it just means I'm slower everywhere and it's just a fundamental lack of speed. Three seconds feels massive.

3 seconds on a nearly 8 mins lap is not as massive as you think. That's like 8/10 of a second on a 2 mins lap.

Yeah...it is a long track, meaning you have lots of opportunities to lose time. On the flip side....it also meams there are tons of places to gain time. Load a fast ghost (probably someone doing 7:40s) and start chasing (reset ghost every sector). Very important to not over drive the car. It is better to brake a bit early then modulate, as oppose to brake too late and send the car sideways losing all the momentum.

I also ran a 1:06.128 earlier and then i looked at my leaderboard ,i see @Jeje6410 and @Dolph Drago just ahead with .115 and .114,so i thought if i pass one i can pass both, lol, and i did :D

This is the first time I’ve used the roof camera instead of my preferred bumper view. The higher perspective gave me a better view on the first few corners
Funnily enough, I did exactly the same… helped me see through the first section but also it reduces the perception of speed which helped me adjust and with timing on some other of the faster sections.

Wow, this one's sooo weird.

So I had a couple of sessions at Norschleife over the last few days. I thought the combination would suit me because I like both the track and road cars (although FWD not so much). Boy, how wrong I was: after spending hours in total I could only manage two (!) clean laps, the better of which was an 08:05.349, and this actually felt close to the limit. Even getting to silver will be a real struggle for me. After my little gold streak in the last few TTs, this was a major reality check. 😢

Then, a little frustrated, I turned to Atlanta. After just a few laps (using @half_sourly's tip of restarting after each lap with 25% brakes applied in the first couple of corners) I was already at sub 1:07. After a few more I dropped to 1:06.5, where I hit a little roadblock. I loaded the top ghost, chased it for two more laps, adjusting my lines to theirs, and suddenly clocked in at 1:05.612, which currently puts me in the top 1000. This is by far the best result I've ever had in a TT, and it didn't even feel like I was pushing that hard.

Now there are two possibilities here: what I want to believe is that I am just freakishly good at this combo. What I do believe is that most players aren't aware of the impact a full battery has, and that maybe using AT and TCS 2 is a bit of a cheat here? I'm not sure, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Here's my lap btw (the Atlanta one of course, I am much too ashamed of my Nürburgring performance to share it 😂)

Nice, 'grats on the Atlanta time! It's almost the opposite for me, I did 1 "banker" lap round Nord and managed a 7.58, I think I've got gold in me there if I can find the time to actually play. But Atlanta in these GR1 cars, lordy do I hate it, no idea what I'm doing. :D

Hmmm....I took my own advice and decided to take it easy and drive calmly and brake a bit early. I still messed up some sectors here and there (mostly just brain busy farting) but it was a rather easy going lap. There is definitely a 7:42s in me at the ring.

That's a nice lap. You've got me beat through the esses, but I think I'm a little faster in the final section. Your time is quicker so I'm sure if I get a minute to actually put in time again I can get down a few tenths. Cheers for the top thousand! 🔥🔥

With a best of 7:48.015 at the ‘Ring, dipping into the 47’s was tantalizingly close, but a 48.3 and a 48.1 was the best I could do over last night and this morning. Had another run tonight and cleaned my lines up a little, and other than a lost tenth here and there, this is pretty much as fast as I get, finishing on a 7:47.618.

No more lap time now for 2wks, but good luck to the rest of you chasing down those tenths!
