I could not realy get the motivation to blast on the TT's again, i am a bit "ring" tired so i'll pause that one for now, Altanta i won't touch again, like i said, gold = run, just isn't my combo.
the Civic i have seen by now, prob could sub 1:01 it, but just don't like driving the thing.
Yesterday did a few more runs on Suzuka and with a 24.9 i'm happy, no hunting on that one.

I can't wait for a new roadcar TT, sliding and enough time to place a car where i want it. :) :)

I had my first short session after over a week at the Ring, and cut my time from 7:48.8 to 7:47.4. So my original estimation of a 47 is there. But looking forward, I'm only gonna get two or maybe three good sessions by the end of the challenge, and cutting seconds is already getting pretty demanding. Not super confident about the certificate, which really would be nice to have for a road car / Nordschleife enthusiast. Darn.

Did you tried to load a ghost of a certificate time?, set as respawn each sector so you can see were you are leaving time on the table?.
Helped for me, i know the ring quite well after all the GT's but still had a hard time comming close to the certificate, until i loaded @Evilmuffin his ghost, what was 44.7 i believe then?

It just lets you see per sector were to get better :-)

If it helps i uploaded my 44.6 run, look for JSPCIVICRING

I'm super uncomfortable with ghosts. The car shaped ones at least :D But I suppose I could give it a try since I don't think a 44 is happening on my own. I'm usually very close to your pace on road cars, so in principle might be a good fit. It's just that a ghost usually makes me miss apexes and lines instead of hitting them better. Might be a cockpit view / VR thing as well, just blocks too much of the view for me. Goes as far as sometimes brain going into "ALARM! Evasive manouevers!" mode :guilty:

I have the same, most of the time it distracts me, i have set L3 to toggle on or off for the ghost and the moment i'm uncomfortable with it i immidiately turn it of but on the ring it helped me, it's just to long and was loosing to much time on prob a lot of corners, i always set ghost at 0.6 seconds away, then you notice the gain or loss but it's not that annoying

Hope you will gain time mate!

I'm always looking for slipstream when following a ghost, it helps a lot.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue and start driving.

I started my comeback by inspecting the grass at tsukuba. I'm happy to report, the groundskeeper has done a fine job with the vegetation there.

Next, I set my sights on getting a time on the board.

I reeeally wanted to get under 01, but it just ain't happening at this point.

The green hell is staring at me on the menu screen. I'm scared. Help.

Hi,

"Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue and start driving."

Ohhh Nooo! I started on the glue and gave up on the driving. Then my time went from 1:02:8xx down to 1:01:2xx. I make that just around 1 full second behind the aliens. I am happy with that for sure. Plus the fact I am still on my old setup. The build of the new one is taking longer than expected.

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

Today was my first attempt at the Gr.1 RA TT. Seeing as how the 919 Hybrid seems to be the meta, I needed to familiarize myself with the hybrid system so I can start putting down decent flying laps.

I'm not too far off Gold, so I think I have a shot. Just need to find a few more tenths. I'm still not super confident with the handling of the car on this track. The cars in used to here have much less grip.

The Nordschleife will wait for now. I'm running a few single player races to refamiliarize myself with the track.

Well, I had a good flow today, so rescheduled a couple of things and had two more sessions at Ring. First one got me straight from 47s to 45s. Then I compared sector times with some certificate-approved laps. Sectors 4 and 10 seemed like the main culprit, so changed my gear tactic through them and after a half a dozen 7:45.5s got a pretty nice and balanced lap in:

Got to be happy with that. Just felt like if I had to walk away from this again for over a week, kinda would have had to start all over again. Somehow this was easier than the NSX Nordschleife challenge, I think I was ~2.4% down on that one though overall position was a bit higher. But this one gives a certificate so clearly my most priced achievement in GT7! :dopey:

How about that! Congrats mate, you nailed it, certificate in the pocket!

Join the club, great job!

Thanks mate! I swear I was only aiming for certificate, not cutting your time  But I'm 99% likelihood done, so feel free to one-up me 👍

I can only love the fact that more people are getting the certificate!, I will try to better my time prob, but for now I have Ring pause and I did stop immediately when i got it 🤣🤣
You can be proud of that top 500, I have been kicked to 539 😅🤣🤣

The Ring isn't my thing, so I concentrate on Road Atlanta. This one is fun as I did learn a lot... After watching some vids I became aware that lifting is sufficient for the first corner. Now I can fully admire the lap times of the fast guys here! 👏

Unfortunately I will be away for some days, fortunately because of vacation. 😁 So my goal is to reach silver with the Toyota. Maybe I will have time to check the Porsche, too.

I've actually just been braking a little bit into T1 while I'm still at full throttle to charge the battery some. Seems to work ok and I'm loading the current WR ghost, doesn't seem to lose much time there. It's T3-T4 where the ghost starts to pull away from me like crazy. I need to work on carrying that speed through to the esses.

I enjoyed the Redbull TT last time but wanted to switch off this weekend after a heavy week at work.

Been watching some videos and it looks like it could be a fun TT.

I'm away for work this is week so will pick uo the TTs again on the weekend, may even give the green hell another shot seens as I only gave it one full lap.

That sounds promising to me. Thank you very much! Maybe this way I will have some boost left after the esses. That's where I loose the leading ghost...

(Green) Hell Yeah! Welcome to the Certificate Club!

I didn't want to come back to it, but I was out of the top 1000 and still in the 1:01's at Tsukuba. One goal was completed tonight. The other - getting sub 1:01 - is still unchecked. I ran two semi long stints, each with an optimal lap in the 1:00's. As much as I don't want to return a final time, tomorrow is the last day to give it a shot.
