Can you not move your head a bit and re-centre the vr like you used to on GT Sport to move the seating position? Or does that not give you any more room either?
Yes that works. So right before you're placed in the cockpit, tilt your head upwards and to the front, then when the race starts, move back to your original position. This solves the problem with the grid lines, but the three screens still obstruct too much of the view for my liking.

It's almost as if PD deliberately aimed to match the VR experience with the driving experience, and they very much succeeded: both are equally awful. First bronze for me in a while, but I just can't bring myself to spend more time in this terrible thing.

I couldn't be bothered with the Lambo TT today and so went back to Road Atlanta, which I wasn't really looking forward to, either. But I knew I could go faster and wanted to pick up some spots in the overall rankings before it ends. Most of my "good" laps I would run a 24.3xx first sector. Other than that, I had maybe three laps in the 24.2's and ZERO 24.1's. So I was bewildered when I saw the split on what would be my fast lap. A 24.061?? Really?? Where did that come from? It doesn't even look that fast when I watch the replay. So, it made it that much more annoying when I accidentally upshifted early into 4th in the final chicane. I probably lost a good tenth there. :grumpy:

The most interesting takeaway from everything? I actually started to enjoy the combo the more laps I put in. I never got that feeling with the Red Bull. It feels amazing when you nail sector 1. So smooth.

Nice time!

I have the same with Road Atlanta right now what you have with the VGT, i just have no motivation to set a better time, i know i can lower my 5.7 but i just don't have the motivation to do it, it's like ... i allready have gold on all, the VGT is a decent time, Ring is ok and certificate worthy, Suzuka i just did gold and won't compete further, and the next 2 weeks i have to grind Road Atlanta with the 918......that is even MORE reason to not jump in the GR1 again
I think i should be somewhere at the bottom of my leaderboard right now, but even that gives me no motivation :lol:

It will take some experimenting to find the right spot, but I have to agree with @crome, the best position will probably be blocked by something else. For example, with how much steering input is required for this car, the avatar's arm blocks your view pretty badly when the wheel is turned 90 degrees or more.

Was out working last night and got home at 4:30am, got woke up for another job that needed doing at 9:15am so have been rather tired today.

When I got back I switched on GTA and then The Crew Motorfest to play something without having to put effort into.

I then fell down the slippery slope of switching to GT7 in the afternoon 😅

I stayed on the DS4 again today as couldn't be bothered to set up the rig and fight with the wheel.

Made a livery, done daily race A (again something to not have to put effort into) and then into the TT.

After reading that the Lambo is like the Bathurst TT I avoided it. Looked at the Nurb and thought I'll leave that for another day when I'm more awake, currently bronze so at least that's something.

Jumped into the Gr1 and off I went...

Started with the Hyundai and couldn't even put a lap together as it understeers so badly.

Jumped in the Peugeot VGT and that was great for a smooth driving style but could only manage 1:09.xxx from it.

Tried the Audi VGT and got 1:08, then 1:07.8xx and couldn't get any quicker.

Finally got the meta 919 and got 1.07.2xx and thought I will get a safe silver. Got to 1.06.891 after around 6 laps with it and thought I'd call it a day... Until I saw @Gorefast was a few tenths ahead and so I went again for another lap...

I won't have time improve this any more as away for work again this week so @Gorefast time to get your racing shoes on before it ends 😜

@P-Courty: you can feel safe. I doubt that I could drive much faster but I am anyway in Taiwan for Holiday and about 11.000 km away from my PS5...

(short impression about Motorfest? My first minutes weren't that different to Crew2. I will leave it in the shelf for now...)

Greetings!

Feeling the same with Road Atlanta. I dragged myself to do a few more laps this morning but just can't beat my PB. I did do a few 1:05.5s....but to improve my PB (1:05.48s I think) I will have to grind like hell. Not sure I want to do that when there is another TT there soon :P

I just don't do very well with high down force cars. The precision that is required to get the best time is something that I lack.

Exactly, we go 918 all in Muffinman, take down the big boys here, grinding till we hit first page international,
we might have some disadvantage with our low milage on RA before the Michelin one..... but on the other hand... we fresh
but 5.4 is a respectable time!, 3 tenths up on me :)

I did a run yesterday with Sport mediums on the 918.... it took me like 10 restarts to even hit T1 without mowing, it's going to be something .....:lol:, it did remind me a bit of T1 in a labo VGT or something :lol:
hope the BoP is better than the stock :lol:

That's fast for sure. Not quite alien fast but nonetheless. I feel like I'm pretty good with gr1 cars (always since the gtone) and I fought to get a 1:05.9. I'm sure it i found my groove again there I could better it. Optimal times were pretty consistent but there are tenths there for me if I grind. At this point I just hope I keep me early gold. At the beginning I was 1726 in the world which felt pretty cool. That's spicy for me. Lol

Little test in St-Croix and improve my time again but not gold again 🥵🥵
2'00'811 with optimal time at 2'00'588

The GR.1 TT at Road Atlanta must be the worst TT for me ever...I never liked driving Gr.1 cars because I can't drive them and I don't like driving them...today I really tried hard, gave every Gr.1 car in my garage a fair chance(there are only 7 out of currently 605 cars in my garage, I guess that says it all...), trying to get at least 5 clean laps with each...but after like 60 laps or so I am still almost 3 seconds away from bronze, with no sign of improvements and no idea, where I could get those 3 seconds from...and that is although Road Atlanta is one of my favorite tracks(and I am really looking forward to the Michelin TT there...)

The TT with that Lamborghini seems to be the same, made 5 laps and there is nothing I like about driving that car...(and I am more than 4 seconds away from bronze) and there is also no motivation to try again

On the other hand I got easy bronzes with that Honda at Nordschleife and Suzuka with my first clean laps there(and that although I don't really enjoy driving at Suzuka from my very first experience in a racing game with that track on about more than 25 years ago)

PS: as you can see, my standards are not to high, I am usually happy with bronze on the TTs(and I usually get it...)

I spent too long today working on the Sainte-Croix CE. I just wish there were all three layouts. But a Gr.1 Bugatti is a far better performing car that this Lambo.

It took another long time to readjust to this disappointing machine. But I did make some progress ...

I'm half tempted to leave my time alone 👿

But my optimals are showing Gold.

Also, I did manage to get a good position with VR. I think that helped a lot.

Evening! Quick and productive session today, a little improvement at RA but I feel like I can’t get much more out of the 919 here so this might be my lot! It’s all in that timing for turn 3 and getting it slightly wrong means death. Still, it has its charms!

As for Sainte-Croix and that silly Lambo… it takes a while to reacquaint myself with the handling of this car.. it is mad but there is still enjoyment to be had! As someone said earlier, if you keep trying you keep going faster and I think that’s because it’s so so weird and an unfamiliar track, we are all still finding ways of going faster. I’m not gonna say it’s great but… it has it’s charm!

I was happy to finally get under 2:00, only to see you post before me and put my lap to absolute shame before I even post my time. Thanks a lot...:grumpy::lol:

I'm finding some of these TTs to be much harder than others.

I got only my 4th gold at Tsukuba just last week, but the Road Atlanta Gr.1 TT is a nightmare - however, I did at least realise that there is no point in trying it with the controller - it's one of those tracks that really punishes controller users. Even after studying alien videos, I couldn't get close to a silver, but I easily beat my own record time within 2 laps using the wheel. That said, I'm still 0.9s off a silver and a full 2.1s off a gold, and I don't think I'm going to persist with it.

Yes, def. not the easiest one on a controller i have to admit, that's why i did set my gold time very soon and never looked back
it's just to nerveous for me, prob getting to old for GR.1
Plus there will be enough Road Atlanta very soon with i hope a more enjoyable combo

Anyone know how much the 918 costs? I don't have my PS5 on (and won't for a while). I already own it, but wouldn't mind getting a second so I can sell it for the $ (just assuming it'll be worth 50-60% of its new value).

NM, just Googled it: 1.6mil.

And it's worth around 800k when selling it, I might sell the one I bought and keep the reward 918, or wide body the one I bought if possible.

Hey, wish me luck, I think the St Croix Lamborghini TT ends tonight into Thursday, so I better get moving. I may have to get a wheel, logitech thing in order to be more smooth. I certainly can't with a controller/joystick.

As an experimentation, I first tried this TT with a pad (DS5) and I managed a 1:06.5xx, so close to gold. And I'm definitely not a pad player : I seldom use it on very easy TTs (like Tsukuba, I did 1:01.1xx with the pad), so I think experienced pad players should get gold.
That said, it is NOT an easy TT, even with the wheel I had to put laps to get my gold lap time (1:05.5 I think). So the wheel helped me shave a full second, but again : I'm not a pad player.
