Ooooo there is a new event in the McLaren P1 GTR at brands

Edit: just seen it's UK only.

Fairly chuffed with an early 77miles and placing nearly top 50

Well done. I just did a few laps and my word that car is lively.
It's accelerating on the crests up or down that make it really challenging. If you are a foot passed the crest or dip then you can go more authoritative on the throttle but if you are one foot before or after them then it's really slow and smooth I found.

So so twitchy but more balanced than the 918 I think

Long time no see, a gazillion pages to catch up, but for the last month I redirected all my resources (i.e. free time plus some sleep time) into GT Sport as I want that plat!

But I loaded GT7 tonight and decided to run for a bit the TT that is currently ending.
Don't know what is the common conception about Alsace here, but after 165 km stint I managed only one lap inside gold time.
This lap:

This combo is hard and I'm still pretty much at the bottom of my friends list, oh well...
If the WR stays, this might be my 20th gold - not so bad...
But seeing Interlagos as the next TT I'm interested. I like the place and definitely want to give it a go before it ends.

As I am back home with only 1 day left as Alsace I couldn't work it out by myself. So after warming up with GTR and 458 I chose the new Mazda and the old Alfa. With the approved ghosts from @GlockPants and @P-Courty I got rather quick into golden terrain. Otherwise the Circuit Experience (CE) helps a lot.

@GlockPants + @P-Courty : Guys, we need to talk. Seriously you're getting faster and faster and not too far away from now your ghosts will only flash shortly on my screen... ⚡Congrats to your awesome lap times! I start looking for new friends to compete with as I'm the same as I ever was.
I may have been fast in that TT and did want to try with the standard wing but haven't had enough time to push on it again and the other TTs so I'm still back at my normal pace again 😂

I'll keep an eye on your times 🏎️ can't have you beating me a Brands Hatch considering I have actually been there IRL 😉

This is going to be fun 😁

It was interesting listening to @Mistah_MCA's video earlier talking about getting burnt out. Lately I'm feeling the same, with the joyless combos and repetitive nature of the game; It's not fun at the moment, it's just a frustrating grind. It doesn't feel accessible or engaging.

I did a couple of laps in the P1 and it's going to be another hypercar snooze fest of inconsistency and unpredictable handling just trying to grind out a time.

Been away from here for a few days but managed some laps in the background… still in gold at Alsace so turned my attention to Interlagos and currently sitting on 1:35.739 with a 35.5 optimal. Safe gold and pretty happy with the lap time. Was struggling with this combo in my first session but realized that my brake pedal calibration was off. Reset it and got gold in 4 laps (travel was too short for effective trail braking before).

Looking forward to Spec II tomorrow and what I assume will be an LFA time trial (but hopefully not at Fuji)!

I was nervous sitting in the 900's with only a few hours left at Alsace. Ended up improving by half a tenth. Enough to jump over 200 spots due to the short nature of the course. Yet despite the length, it seemed impossible to string together 3 perfect sectors for me considering my optimal was a 47.515. I wonder what TT tomorrow will bring.

Right, that's why I'm asking really. I think we all know that TCS 0 is theoretically fastest but practically speaking? I was curious whether any of you really fast people ever dabbled with having it on but it seems not!
Don't know about the others, but turning TC on...even at 1 makes me slower. Having said that...it did take me a good week or 2 to adjust when I first turned off TC completely. I remember the first time I turned it off, I was immediately facing backward at the exit of the very first corner and took 5 or 6 restarts just to get through it without spinning :D

It says on the website that track limits are normal so hopefully the penalty system can prevent people from wall riding. Oh wait, "normal" is touch one wall with the force of a gnat and the entire lap doesn't count. This track since even the last year or so of GT Sport is either one extreme or the other which REALLY sucks for me because it is my best track.

When I did the RBR Movie TT I was quicker with TC off and ASM on (which I never use).

With both off I couldn't get out of the hairpin quick enough.

With TC on 1 I was drastically slower as it kept restricting the power out of corners, and if I caught a small slide it would restrict the power and take me to see the inside barrier 😂

I think that depends how sado masochistic you are and how often you enjoy restarting a lap because you glanced the barrier with your tail light. 🤣

Tokyo is not my idea of fun. I may not do so well in this one...
:lol: The thrill is actually in how close you can get to the barrier without messing it up. I think I've had enough practice here at Tokyo farming credits with that Tomahawk glitch a while back.
