New WR time at Tokyo of 1:20.817 brings the Gold cut-off down to 1:23.242 - I‘m wafer thin to gold now by two hundredths so as expected I’ll have to go again to be safe. I think my optimal splits stacked up to a 1:22.9 so in theory I should be good, but as with everyone else, it feels as if I just need to look at a wall wrong and the time goes red  :scared: :banghead:
Same here, I am sitting at 1:23.188, optimal is two tenths faster. I really want that gold as I invested a lot of time and sweat, and statistically, this would be the hardest TT yet where I'd achieve that, see below.

Great combo imho. Yeah, hitting a wall can be frustrating, but when it happens I always feel like it's my fault at least, unlike the unpredictable mess that was the Lambo VGT in Sainte Croix :irked:

Good luck everyone!

Jumped on this morning thinking I would have a good bit of time at the TTs, especially Brands Hatch.

Completed master B license then went over to the TTs.

Done a few laps of Brands Hatch and I'm at 1.22.xxx and then....

Internet went down in the area, issue with Open Reach, and isn't planned to be fixed until Monday 😭

That's me out until next weekend again now 😢 so probably not going to move from silver with the Merc before that one ends 😟

Think I had just over an hour online before it went off, not happy as I had a fair bit of time free to have a good go at the TTs today aswell.

I took a short break from the TT's yesterday and ran the weekly challenge races instead. Today was back to Tokyo. The lap was a bit scruffy. After so, so many invalidated laps, I was naturally hesitant in some corner exits, pedaling the throttle a bit. This meant losing time down the following straights and likely adding up to a tenth or two overall. And I messed up the final corner. As I say every TT, there's still time to gain.

Hi,

@crome...

May I ask where you got that page from? ( The link to Gold Silver and Bronze times )

Cheers.

This TT is driving me crazy here. Following some of the Aliens, I can manage a decent time but invalidated by touching the walls. Did I say touching? Sorry... I meant breathing on them!

Is there an option, somewhere in the game, that allows you to fold in the wing mirrors? That might help me!

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

The time trial on Tokyo Expressway is disgusting. I'm not going to waste hours suffering trying to get gold because I have better things to do. I can't even remember what my best time was but it's nowhere near the gold time. I think it was a 1:24.6 or something but I really don't care. Thankfully, the time trial at Interlagos was a lot easier and I got into the gold bracket with a 1:35.860.

Absolutely. It's a small script I wrote that you can install into your browser. It basically uses the same scraping technique that is the basis for @half_sourly's comprehensive statistics, but with a much smaller data set.

If you follow the "greasyfork" link in my original post about it here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/time-trial-discussion.409515/post-14046512, it should guide you through the process (it's not difficult). Let me know if it works for you.

Same choice for me......

gold on the last 3 TTs, silver at Nurb without looking for gold more than that, I'm not going to waste time in Tokyo that I don't like at all....

bronze in 3 rounds, but I'll leave it at that....

the 1.40 has given me enough to keep me busy and more fun....

at 74, you have to take it easy and give priority to pleasure..... 😂😂 :gtpflag:

Hello.
Took a break from driving into trees to ..uh driving into walls it seems.

First try at tokyo ended in the high 22's.

I'm losing my mind. Not because the TT is bad, it's actually very fun!
And not because of the walls or the car.

It's due to the sound the seams in the road are making, and it sounds exactly like robocop is walking around in my house and I'm getting paranoid :odd:

OT:
After spending time doing triple flips in the woods and gravel roads, I want say how much I appreciate the driving model and ffb in GT7.
It's logical, it's consice and it's fun!

Having very mixed feelings about WRC.
Some of the cars don't behave like they should and the FFB is terrible.
It's fun when you find the right car and get the settings right though.
/OT

You guys are improving so much. It's great to see awesome laptimes and new records. Keep up the great work and have fun!

I forgot to mention that the A4 license in Tokyo with the F12 berlinette is already causing me enough trouble.....

I'm very close to gold after 12,000 attempts, but there's always a wall to get a closer look at this sublime Ferrari.......🤣🤣

I feel sorry for you. There could have been a nice challenge between us at Interlagos as I improved quite well. Brands Hatch would have been my cup of tea, too. Crazy country limitations! 😕

So, I will look out for you at Tokyo with that amazing R400... Greetings!

Just had a message that the earliest the Internet is being looked at is Tuesday 😟 and Interlagos ends on Thursday, don't quite think I can get a gold in that time but if I can get a little time online before it ends I might be able to improve my silver.

I'll probably get about 2 laps out of 100 not invalidated at Tokyo 🤣

Took another crack at interlagos and managed to improve my time a bit. I think i am done with this one. It's not a track i am good at or enjoy very much tbh.

Replay is shared in case it might help anyone.

Gonna give Tokyo another go and see if i can bring my 22.788 down. Will share my replay of that one also afterwards, for the same reason. I really don't consider myself thay good/fast, especially considering the people in this thread so hopefully it can help someone(s)

Back at Tokyo today. I know some others don't seem to like this combo, but I find it enjoyable, in spite of all the invalidated laps.

Speaking of which, I had a 1:22.5xx invalidated because I brushed the wall on the exit of the last turn for the prior lap. So I want to keep pushing on this event.

Regardless, I still managed to cut a little time off my official PB. Optimals look really good.

Thanks! I haven't touched too much of the newest stuff. I did the weekly challenge on day 1 and started the master license tests (currently stuck on B6). But I need to strike while the iron is hot on the Tokyo TT. I'll probably move on if I manage to get close to my optimal time.

With everything else going on with GT7, I hadn't had time to put much effort into the new TT until today.

@Barareklam had claimed the #1 spot on my friends list with a nice sub-'22 lap, so I set it as my goal to beat that. I watched the top replay for reference, and the most useful discovery was to shift to 5th gear much earlier than I had before in sector 1.

Drove about 50 consecutive laps, many of which were invalidated, but on lap 46 everything worked out nicely and the timer stopped at 1:21.621 (opt. .539).

It's a very fun TT in VR, so I'm going to keep trying to improve at least that one tenth I'm still missing.
