Hi folks! Glad to see I'm not the only one struggling with this TT. I spent nearly my whole day on it yesterday but I think I'm good now (Fingers crossed tightly).

Playing with a ds4, I finally clocked a 1:13.850 lap using CS assist at "weak". Thinking about it now, I barely remember the last time I had to turn that on, it must've been during the final license test months ago...

Thanks to the ones who posted lap guides, they were all helpful in their own way :) . I know I can get closer to the 13.5's, but it is not an easy task to accomplish. This car is something, to say the least. Not going back unless I have to catch gold again, that's for sure.

Good luck to all and keep on pushing! - Try not to lose your mind with these sketchy track limits

Went away for a few days, bronze hanging by a thread for the last TT - flash the PS up this evening and no prize, no bronze! V Gallo broke 1:40! (well done if you're reading this site! 🍻)
Oh well, let's give this one a go!
I didn't make it to bronze either, left it to late. Quite like this one though may spend some time on it

Pffff after burning rubber again for some time managed to go to 1:14.238, hell no that this will end in gold so we have to keep pushing 🤣
It might tbh, short track and car has only so much grip. Not far off gold at least.

Finally managed to fluke a 1.14.064 at Watkins Glen time trial with countersteer assist on weak. Was very aggressive on my lap and the countersteer assist saved me from a few powerslides. Next best time I have done is like a 1.14.4 something, so really hoping this holds up 🙏

Hi,

Managed to hit a 1:14:0xx - Very pleased! I am learning an awful lot about throttle control here. The Bus stop and following big right hander especially... I am right on the ghost time up the bus stop then it all goes to **** in a hand cart :-)

Too little and you are in the wall - too much and you are in the wall. I have managed to get it right, just the once. Then binned it on the last corner.

That's the story of my GT7 career I guess. LOL

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

I didn't figure the 1:14.382 I ran last night would hold for gold.

A short run today saw my time drop to a more comfortable 1:14.188. Both sessions I had an "ideal" lap of 1:14.0xx. I really don't know if I have the capability to find my way into the 1:13's. Hopefully the aliens don't go crazy before the end of the competition. (looking at you, @Doodle...:P)

So I just did a 1:14:8xx. Still outside of the lap times around here but I felt quite satisfied with the lap. Saved the review and watched it a couple of times and I am sure I can get it down 0.5/0.6, but I feel I can’t get it below 1:14:000. Only time will tell, I expect to give it a go tomorrow again.

That'll depend on how much motivation I have on the last day (usually happens when L-Shooter appears out of nowhere, which is precisely what happened with the Z time trial )

If anyone wants some insight on what the gold time could be by the end, I feel that a 1:11.9 is certainly possible, but would take an insane lap. Not sure what Kokubun's potential is, but my optimal currently puts me somewhere around a 1:12.09x, and there's more improvements that I can visualize to that.

If my math is correct, 3% from a 1:11.9 should range anywhere between a 14.057 and 14.158. With this current knowledge, I think a safe time to lock in gold would be to break into the 1:13s. Settling with a 14.1 could work, but I feel it would be a bit risky depending on the activity at the top towards the end.

Of course, all of this could be completely wrong and someone totally crushes my expectations on the limits of this combo, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see with that one.

That is quick!, 1:11.9 is bizar!, for me, i hope you don't nail it, but for you, go for it!
I do struggle with this one on DS4, 1:14.238 now but can't stand to not have a flawless lap, and keep changing my strategy, that is what makes my inconsistent i think, but i love the challenge and i hope i can brake into the 1:13..
I'm loosing alot in the last 2 corners so we will keep pushing.
But you time is extremely fast as always!, respect!,

My gains have been in the tiniest of increments. Went from 1:14:203 to .193 and then later to .134
Hope I can get into the 13's

@Gomario JSP, if it's not the second last turn that messes up a good lap, It will ALWAYS be the last turn that screws me over.
True!, i'm still figuring out if i have to be in 4th for the second last corner or 3th...... sometimes in faster in 4th, but then again.... sometimes faster in 3th..., this second last corner hates me, aswell as the first corner

I keep it in 4th. In 3rd, I loose traction and that's the end of it
About the first turn, I dont know how many times I've restarted the lap... Its tricky as hell. Just brake very early!!!!!!

Yes, I brake at the 400m board, but sometimes I just can't rotate the car in 3th, i see some go to 2th to rotate then on apex quickly to 3th again, so many possibilities 🤣
Somany times I didn't even got to the first corner because of the damn tracklimit 🤣🤣

Y'know, I thought I had a time below 1:15, and it turns out I didn't at the time of my last post. But I certainly have a time below that now. That said, I don't know if I wanna spend the time to get gold on this one. Being a little below the 3.9% range should secure silver range for me. If I were tasked with a potentially less powerful car, then maybe I'd spend more time on getting gold, but the C7 ZR1 has over 750 HP, and that's as-stock! I simply have other things I'd rather do within the world of GT7, let alone other things I both want (and need) to do beyond GT7. I think I'd need to shave several tenths off my best time to get gold for this one...

The last time I had a look I was 0.080 from falling back into bronze. What's the silver time at the moment?
You don't need to have your PS4/5 on to know what the cutoffs are. Go here:

Click on the TT and look at the top time. Then, multiple that by 1.03 for gold, 1.05 for silver, and 1.10 for bronze. It's easier if you convert the minutes to seconds first. So, as of this post the leading time is 1:12.230 (aka 72.23 seconds).

Gold: 74.3969 seconds or 1:14.397 1:15.396*
Silver: 75.8415 seconds or 1:15.842 1:15.841*
Bronze: 79.453 seconds or 1:19.453

I am not sure if PD round or just cut-off (ie, silver may be 1:15.841)... but this should get you close enough.

If you still haven't arrived at your hose, 15.841.

*ETA: Per the above post that I didn't see when I started this post, it appears they cut-off.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I think another time trial session is on the cards this evening...

I think this combo finally clicked in some way for me. I've gained a few tenths to get back into gold with a 1:14.114. Even better, I managed it whilst running on TCS 0, rather than the TCS 5 I did previously.

There's a 1:13.9-1:14.0 in there if I can hook it all together, but my main struggle point is now getting the chicane right. I was getting a nice gap on my personal best's ghost through sector 1 after figuring out how to reliably get the power down earlier through the Esses but then I end up with the ghost on top of me or in front of me coming out of the chicane. Whatever I did on my fastest lap was amazing compared to my average lap and I just don't know what that was.

I see I'm still safe by about 2 tenths after Akagi took the record back again, please let that be enough.

I had a quick 15 minutes to get some laps in, and managed to knock nearly 3 tenths off my time, now down to a 1:15.53. Safe silver? Potentially. But I'm not done yet. I'd really like to push hard enough to find a gold time, although I feel that may be an ambitious aspiration!

So far so slow....
I managed a 1:15.7something with about 500ms in the belt, looking at ideal lap.

I'm loosing in each single turn due to acceleration, I guess. I don't feel confortable in opening too soon.

Also I don't understand how in the world they can enter that fast in the bus stop. I'm constantly missing the second part of the chicane if I try

It's a quite funny TT for me, I like the Glenn and the challenge of this car
