Day 2 at WG. The bus-stop had my number today. The only way I've managed to get through there is to go way too slow for a fast time.

But I was able to make some progress. About 0.2 seconds quicker than yesterday.

I think I only had one really good Sector 1 but I never could quite replicate it. Losing the most time against @Metalgear9493 's ghost in Sector 2.

Mate, I wrote to Seadog Today how to take T1, check it if it's suits you too.

@seadog777 I forgot to mention that you need to downshift to 4th when you hit the brakes. I go in 5th all the way to braking point in T1 and then shift to 4th when I hit the brakes.
Ah right, nice! Found your post. Thanks for the detailed analysis! I'll give that a go. I think I'm over-braking it, hitting the apex approx. 100mph. Need to work on my turning points.

@MidnightRun85 I think you can try to hit curb/apex on T1 with your front left wheel, it will not unsettle the car and you will have good placement of car to floor it until T2.
Good luck mate!
Thanks to your advice and sharing that lap guide I was able to nail T1 and set myself up for a great lap! It took me a while, but I eventually got it all together and managed a 1:13.2 in the Ford GT!

I was then tempted by the BRZ, to see what it's capable of. First clean lap:

Been a while since I've had a good go at the TTs, because of work and the damn kitten eating cables (7 in the past two weeks now 😂).

So got online on Saturday and spent 45 mins in the Alpine...

Session one was a bit hit and miss just tipping over the curb at the exit of turn one but kept going to get used to it. View attachment 1308952
Session two I loaded a fast ghost and put ABS onto weak as having it off was making me lose time on the first and last corner.

Been a while since I've seen gold

Moved onto Willow and tried the Citroen which got into silver on the second lap but only just, tried about 5 more laps but just couldn't find any more seconds and then it happened... Not a gold time but the inevitable 😂

So I jumped into the BRZ and made lots of time within the first lap, by lap 3 I was well into gold on this too
View attachment 1308958
Not seen two golds in a long time, let alone the same day within under 1hr 45mins online...
View attachment 1308959
Then I went off to do the weekly challenges instead of the license tests for an easy time and took the LFA around Tokyo (in gold 😉).

I don't think that both golds will stick as there is a lot of time to be found in those TTs by the aliens... but the paint on my LFA will 😝
Excellent times and some big air, too.

Gauntlet thrown.

Not to sound like a broken record, but I wanted more! I had several first sectors throughout the session that were easily faster. And I left some time on the table in the carousel. I never quite got my wheels on the right rumble strips and didn't even touch the outside curbing coming out of the corner. Still, this is the highest I've ever been on the leaderboard. So close to the top 50, but I know I'll drop down the order before the end unless I can improve that little bit more.

Ohh come ooonnn!!!......
This is nuts, every single day....., and personally i had 3 sessions now without any progression.... this morning i had somany .7xx and a few .6xx with the fastest a .658...but....... with a optimum of .500 so i know it's there, but i drove like 900km total now without improvement :lol:

@Dolph Drago thanks for pulling a muffin on us, real great..... a .5xx.... real great..... that's a nice thing to see when opening the leaderboard...., i grabbed whiskey instead of coffey :lol::lol:

Congrats with that time mate!, now stop please and give the rest of GTplanet a chance :lol::lol::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Nice job y'all, I'm gonna see what I can do tonight and tomorrow at Willow, I'm gonna be posting some videos so be looking for them. See the very first left turn and then the right turn(Sector 1) kills my time because I don't have proper braking points.

Sector 2 isn't bad, Sector 3 can be tricky too, the second right turn can impact the outcome whether I stay on the road or go offtrack in the dirt.

First left I brake at the 100 board on the right but only for about half a second.

The right hand I didn't brake for, just drop from fifth to forth with a little lift off the throttle and then when you are half way around it put full throttle back down.

Have you tried this?

Btw Gtplanet somehow shows preview of some other post. Maybe @Famine knows if preview can actually show preview of correct post?

@MidnightRun85 glad you got gold. Lap guide comes from @Mistah_MCA and he usually post those on his YouTube channel, if you are curious you can check it out. He always put good reference points that are worth to try.

My son started doing TT’s recently and it’s been fun watching and giving him advice (he doesn’t want any advice though, all he really wants is to beat his dad!)

He’s 14, he only chases his own ghost and doesn't know about trail-braking. He’s a B/C driver and not consistent or aware enough to go any higher just yet. But he golded most of the TT’s he tried which made him very proud!

He does sessions of 30 mins most days, his lines are decent and he has good feel for the car balance through the wheel and under braking. ABS the only assist. When he first started I set him a ghost to chase but the only advice I give him now is gear changes, which in turn I get from other people so I can’t take any credit!

He sees me doing laps sometimes but pretends he isn’t watching. He’s a proud kid and wants to do it his way :) And he's coming for me....

With most of the recent results admin out of the way, I've been able to spend a bit of time driving again. I didn't really enjoy Big Willow (decent time and safe gold set - 1.12.123) so have been spending time at Watkins Glen instead. I'm wildly inconsistent and today showed that. After hitting a few 32.7x in S1, including a 32.710, the lap I did my best S2 and S3 was a S1 of 32.946...!? So I suspect I'll be going back!

Great lap!
You are always pushing us with numbers so we try to get few more milliseconds. You currently need 0.011 to get a green arrow up on your best P ever ranking, aaand.... You have -0.236 in deltas...

No pressure 😁 no seriously, you got this champion!

Okay, so...you know the drill...a morbid amount of km's in one car, chasing that best time, possessed. But I finally got it, nearly 1:12.000 with the M6.

We'll see how many cars I can still test, hoping to do at least 4 more.

Edit: GT-R now done as well!

You make it look easy man, If I drift the right hander after the busstop like you do then hell no I'm getting a .6xx across the line, smooth busstop btw.... that going to be a .4xx mate!

Go get it! 😀😀

I didn't have as much time to work on WG that I've had the last couple days. Only 20 laps, but I made it count. New PB on Lap 20!

Turn 1 is starting to make more sense and I'm getting more speed through there consistently. S2 is still a little slow through the bus-stop, but getting better. S3 is ok, but some laps I am able to slip the car into the correct slide easier than other laps. Still, not bad progress.

About another 0.2 seconds down off yesterday's lap. However, I'm beginning to approach my optimal lap and without some breakthrough or revelation, I am not sure how much time I'll be able to cut down. It would be nice to keep a 0.2 second per day trend.

I miss the Iceman in F1. His radio messages and interviews were always the best.

A good lap spoiled by sector 1? I know that feeling. For me personally, I keep it in 4th gear for turn 1. Every time I tried 3rd, I would get slightly better rotation but get killed speed wise off the corner. Or I would get TOO much rotation and slide mid corner, leading to a poor exit and loss of speed all the way to the bus stop.
