1:13:356!!

Hopefully that's enough because my sanity has taken the toll.

At first I wasn't going to get gold since I'm content with getting silver. Had just screwing around and got 1:13:660, then 1:13:639  then I thought surely I can reach at least 13:600...

Got almost insane doing it, then by sheer luck, adrenaline and tunnel vision, got the 13:356.

I want to cry.

Last night (with the new physics) I had gold for the first time with 1:13.658, followed by .467 and .381. And today 1:13.294 - .282.

I don't think that's enough. Why? Because normally, days after my lap time is registered, I'm in the top 3000 or below.

Now I'm 1595, which means there are still over 1400 players faster than me who previously registered their times and need to update (=improve) them. Who knows, maybe a few won't try to. But I think the majority will keep pushing, and I will be pushed back to silver, in the top 3000.

Don’t know what you’re all talking about, car still handles like a POS.
It handles better than before, that's for sure. Compared to my ghost lap with old physics, I'm 1.15 second faster, and this is mostly between the exit of the 1st corner and the chicane uphill.
That's a huge difference when you instantly see your ghost fall behind, like it's still pumping the brakes in that sector.

1:14.435 pre-patch vs 1:13.282 post-patch.

Honestly, I am not sure what you're all complaining about. It's a street car with mid-tier street tires that's putting out over 750hp and over 700 ft-lbs of torque running a supercharged V8. Like, wtf do you think is going to happen when you stab it in 2nd gear? Are the brakes really that bad, or do you not realize you're going 180mph when you stab them at the 400 board? The brakes don't stop the car, the tires do. And, again, STREET tires.

Everybody's faster, so I don't think in the end it'll make any difference.
I got gold, but 5 minutes later I was back at silver. So I improved my lap time to 1:13.467. Gold again but it's not gonna last.

It might last. Doodle at #1 spot improved his time by 0,7 secs pre update. That's about how much the Corvette got quicker after update. And the fastest pre update 1.25 times were stale for a while. So I think you are very close to be safe, probably just about.

Yeah I have a friend who did a 1.12.9 before 1.25, he was a bit annoyed as well. Well PD can't go around and wait right before the start of the next time trial until they do an update can they.

The issue with a possible update like this affecting is that time trials are open for two weeks. With one week this is probably a smaller issue. 🤔
No need to shorten the time they’re open. It’s not really a solution either, poor timing can still occur if they’re open seven days. Just time the updates (with physics updates) correctly.

I feel good about gold now. Somehow in the top 400 no less. This was the result of finally having that one lap where everything comes together and all sector times are my best for a full lap. I've never done that before. :dopey:

I thought it might be interesting to share some statistics from yesterday. So my girlfriend and myself realised that new update makes one faster and its weekend so we decided to try to improve times on Glenn TT. We were playing afternoon and evening, half an hour - hour sessions each , switching between playing and having a coffee break and before turning PS off I checked how many kilometres we drove. Since we only played on Glenn short track which is 3943 meters long, we got following:
747.4 km divided to 3.943 km = 189 laps
609.5 km divided to 3.943 km = 154 laps
So we together drove 343 laps on Glenn yesterday. Now statistic is not exactly 100% accurate because of restarts but its kind of there. Anyhow, we had great fun, both improved our times and ideal lap times tells we can be even faster, so we will see how many laps it will be today.

I echo everyone else, a lot easier now!

Updated track guide for those hunting gold.

I was 169th (nice) when I uploaded. I reckon loads of you will beat that over the next 6 days.

I watched your replay and cut off almost 4 tenths, which got me into Gold territory!
Thanks for sharing man!

New time is 1:13.544!
Here is video:

I hope so that Doodle won't improve too much...

I think wearing Father Christmas socks has done this - That and changing some settings....

I now have the wheel set to Fanatec's recommended settings. Turned off the Countersteering and hey presto! 1:13:125.

That's it now though. I don't think I can get any more out of the infernal car!!! Its like driving a bag full of custard.

Best regards to all here.

Ian.
