If anybody wants to experience being BoPed into oblivion, try the Ford GT '18.

It is as if the Hand of God came down to hold you back (and lengthen you braking distances). Or your tires are permanently lightly dusted in dirt. So sluggish that you begin to wonder if you aren't slipping into another universe...

This still handles worlds better than the Vette in the last TT. No, I'm not ready to let that go.

First real session into the GP layout brought me 1:57.154 with the RSR, didn't drive it for a while and was forgotten how fast it actually is, real fun!.
i'm going to look were i can abuse the track because often i'm not aware of the option to do so
def 1:56.xx in it.
Tried the GTR also but was a second slower :banghead:

But fun and fast combo, me like!

Did 7 laps yesterday, just to get the flavor of the challenge (41.5 Km, just 0.5 short of the daily marathon.... 😖), managed a 2:01.2X
I'm quite happy with it given that it's kind of new track for me....

One thing that I think should be improved in GT7 is the feeling of altitute changes that the tracks give you. Looking at real pictures of tracks I see up and downs that I don't perceive during the driving experience (Le Mans as an example: other than very few chuncks seems to be flat while driving)

Yesterday Nring GP gave me that feeling, not beeing able to spot markers due to the track ondulation. This makes it a more tricky challenge, at least for me

True, GP layout is absolutely not flat, makes it indeed challenging and even more with cars like the RSR wich become faster when you use alot of weighttransfer tricks, i like the track alot, except for the last chicane, damn thing

Managed to hold onto gold in the last one, so Doodle is still on my Christmas Card list (please note that this is a metaphorical list. Those on it are awesome; those who are removed owe me a beer.)

Took the Z4 for a few laps around Nurburgring (because someone had to) and got a 1:58.9. Then switched to the Supra and got that down to a 1:58.2. I've always been slow at this track, so I see many more laps ahead of me over the next two weeks.
I used the Z4, it's my favourite car at the moment.

We won't discuss the lap time.

That last chicane need better track limits. Its now a contest who can cut it the best with out crashing 😂

1:55.6 with RSR, I think Im done with this one....

Did also try the Mclaren 650, got 56.3 with it. Its much more stable and more easy to drive than RSR, so if you feel that the Porsche is bit too loose, try the 650

I've seen other people saying they couldn't get the prize. Probably a bug.
I got the 1 mil credits from silver but the ringing sound from the credits loading got stuck and I had to reload the game to stop the ringing noise! There's clearly some bugs with the payout...

EDIT. For this current TT I'm thinking of trying: Jaguar F-Type, Aston Martin V12 Vantage, McLaren 650S, Mitsubishi Evo Gr.3... all before I hop into the Porsche...

@half_sourly if you by any chance have statistics already after just day one, it would be very interesting to see current numbers, if not, I will patiently wait until the end 😊 because I guess you will have them at the end.
(if I can't be so patient I will probably ask you for numbers after one week, half time of TT 😁, sorry if I bother you but I really love your statistics work! )

Got into the 55's with a 1:55.972 which should be safely gold, but I like this combo so will do some more sessions over the next couple days. Lap was pretty "clean" except for a chunk of time in the final chicane which I didn't cut enough. Love the entire track except that chicane which would be better IMO if track limits were tighter.

I haven't really driven Nurb GP in earnest since GT6 so it's nice to relearn this track... so different from what was in GT6/GT5.

Will post something tomorrow. Away this evening.

I picked up a few tenths tonight. 1:56:747 with an ideal lap of 1:56.290. My fast lap sector 1 was 3 tenths off my best. I lost count of how many times I was easily ahead of my best coming to the final sector, only to flub the chicane. That thing is a menace. I can't cut the first part of it too much or I go airborne with quite a rough landing. And if I don't cut it enough, I don't make the switchback and end up accidentally cutting the right side beyond the bollard and get penalized. I just can't seem to get it down. :irked:

Did my final session of the day. I accepted that I am no hero and drove the Porsche again. I got my time down to a 1:57:905. Tonight's dinner was bollard at the final chicane. Nom, nom, nom...

I expected to slam head-on into my skill wall at 1:58:xxx, but this will suffice. Time to chase that half second to gold for the rest of the event. It boggles my mind how fast you all are. I'll try the other Ford GTs and maybe the Renault later (because I have a death wish).

As many have said, track limits are especially relaxed this time around, except for the entries into the two chicanes. The penalty has been particularly cruel in my experience, invalidating both the offending lap and the next.

Still, lobbing a racecar over a chicane continues to be an oddly Zen experience.
