It funny, I lost my focus a bit and started to be a tiny bit more reckless and absolutely took te chicane in airbus mode (for my driving style) and now im in the 56's 🤣🤣
This lap is FAR from clean but it did the job 🤣, I'll hunt for mid 56 👌

A plus for the guys above reacting to the posted video of @Barareklam, good advice, nice to see people helping out 👌

Best lap is now a 1'55.724 a whopping 0.002 better than the lap from my last session, but I'm improving all over the track, just haven't put it all together and blew a 1'55.5XX on the final corner. My optimal is down to 1'55.232. If I could get close to that by the end of the TT I'd be happy. I could care less about the dailies next week so going to keep trying to squeeze tenths out of this one.

02:01:205 after 12 laps. This one's actually fun to do. Will try and study a couple of better players and see if I can't knock this time down into the silver range.
I like to try to see how far I can get on my own before watching a lap guide, being that we are at the same time, give it a whirl.
If you can get into silver by yourself and learning yourself i think it helps you get better, It definitely knocks a second or two watching a lap guide. That way you may be able to push for a gold.

Sometimes the problem with that is the fact that you have trouble braking your routine after al those laps, for some people that is quite difficult, i'm one of those. so i think that is not the best way for everybody.
If somebody found the faster line i'm not going to re-invent the wheel :)
But if this works for u absolutely go for it, keep pushing and collect the gold with a smile :)

Good luck!

Could be the method that gets me to 1"51.05 🤣

And that could indeed be true! 😁🤣
Personally those guides of the aliens help me alot, my lines are genuinely ok most of the time but they use ALOT more track then I do, I always draw within the lines at the start of the TT and then comes the "holy cr*p, you don't get a penalty for that?!" Video 🤣

I have just did 1:58.408 with Mazda Stealth Model.
And there was big mistake at chicane.

I'll see in next days, but if I get more used to this car and gold time doesn't move, who knows...

But there are small chances for that.
I'm already happy with silver, bcs this one is hard for me.

Well, I just watched one. Shall see if it gives me any joy later tonight when I get on.

In order to study more how to improve my skills I recorder lap of the one that currently lead Nurburgring TT and then used video editor to overlay video of his lap, over video of my lap, under.
I slowed down videos a lot so I can have enough time to check both mine and his pedals/wheel movements at same time. Video is only showing first sector of lap.
I can see directly that already after very first turn he is accelerating quickly to 130 km/h while I am on very same spot at only 110 km/h
How is he doing it? Who see difference what and how he is doing that fast acceleration in first turn?
(please ignore slowed down sound, mute it)

Indeed he has a very fast exit of corner 1, he is on like 80% throttle and when aligned with the last cone he is already on full throttle were you are still fighting the traction.

So I think TCS is killing you here

Nice to compare your video this way, this way you learn alot!

Look at the throttle inputs. Once he hits the throttle he keeps it pinned. Your TCS is constantly cutting your throttle. You’ll see the same effect at the hairpin, chicane and probably the left/right at turns 3/4.

You will not be able to match the exits unless you turn TCS off.

2:00:05, must have learnt something then. Should be able to get into silver tomorrow. Piece my good corners together in one good lap, and all will be tickety boo. Think golds pushing it a bit..but I'll give it a try. Definitely 1:51 is not happening 😇
Same here, I got down to a 2:00:0xx time yesterday. But getting down into Silver from there will be a tough fight. I think I lose the most time in the first hairpin + subsequent corner, and perhaps at the final chicane.

Time Trial Challenge @ Nurburgring GP (Porsche 911 RSR '17)

On Saturday morning, the leaderboard was filled with Porsches, so I decided to hop in mine to see what I could do...

Out of the blue, without even practicing before, I scored gold on my very first attempt (at the time, 1:57.5xx was inside the required mark to beat). I was positively shocked, and aware that said time could be improved a lot with the proper work put into it. Drank a coffee, turned on my ds4 and proceeded to do so.

In about 30 minutes, my lap times were down to the 56's, (so far so good eh) and it's at this point that I had the brilliant idea to try joining the oh-so-famous 1:55 club... Oh boy - I really didn't know what I was getting into...

By the time I managed to reach 1:56.5, I started to doubt the success of "Operation 55". Just couldn't connect all sectors together, and it was getting frustrating. But, I wasn't done yet -- So, I took a break, watched a few replays and enjoyed some clips of the last Nurb24h in order to pump me up for the next track session.

After a few hours and a lot more mileage, the lap was now at 56.3, followed by a 56.1 right after. Woah! I had never been closer to my objective, but at the same time, two hundreds of a second seemed like eternity to reach now.
- Aarrgh... Took another deep breath, and decided to go for one last run before calling it done, 55's or not. Told myself I already had a safe gold time anyways.

30 minutes later, it was down to 56.010 -- This one got me swearing out loud; it was so close! - Surely though, I could not resist going back for "one last run" - if you know what I mean

Another hour or so later, I finally nailed a time of 1:55.930 - Mission accomplished!
I must say this was quite a roller coaster of emotions to go through... That last run left me a little shaky afterwards, but damn it felt good! Now on my way to a 10th gold medal, not a bad way to start the week ;)

On this, I wish you folks good luck, and keep on pushing! - Thanks to all for your input on this thread, THIS is gold 🏆

If I liked this track I could even lower it a little more...
I don't hate it, but it has some curves that make me really annoyed - Turn 1, Turn 3 and Turn 4... :ouch:

Soo mr Philip..........., let me take a second to understand this......, this could...., if i manage to find another 0.109s .....
and if you will not participate again from now........( wich i highly doubt ) lol

be the first time i am able to maby dethrone you from my top spot on my leaderboard? :D:lol::lol::lol:

Motivation is on..... lol

I'm not very proud of this lap but I thought I'd share it anyway. It's really messy. After T1 I didn't even take it serious anymore but I then turned on the ghost (some random guy in Top200) and realized I was actually on a fast lap
I could definitely go quicker (and cleaner) but after the last update I'm not really motivated anymore to play GT7.

Edit: That's a very clever thumbnail I made there lmao. Play button fully covering the text:dopey:

Jumped on for another 20 minutes or so tonight. I think I’ve now done 15 laps total for a best of 1:56.2xx a full second inside the gold time but well outside the top 1000.

This one is looking super easy. Since the dailies are boring this week I might try running a few laps in every Group 3 car and see how many I can get under the gold time. I’ll post results here if I do.

I am always quite strong at this track but it does act as a sort of litmus test as to the differences between GTS and GT7. In GTS I was a gun at NGP (low A+ pace vs my A DR) but always fought terrible understeer at the first right after the stadium section. But i'd relentlessly hit my marks. In GT7, the understeer is gone but hitting my marks is tough, i am nowhere near as consistent. I suspect a lot of it is the lack of control over BB, I can't DIVE into the corner, pitch the car then chuck it is, i need to tip-toe a bit on entry which slows me down.

RSR feels miles ahead of anything else for me here and I managed a 57.1 in it, good for gold right now but i may need to find a few more tenths.
