Of course keep trying! When you get tired of it, you'll figure it out. But even now the result is good!
Thanks, I didn't improve despite being up a few times - I think that time put me just inside the top 200 although I'm guessing it'll have dropped a little now....

Since this week’s dailies are of no interest I have started working my way through all the Group 3 cars. I do about 3-5 laps in each and stop once I think I’ve got a reasonably representative lap. Results to date are;

I can get at least silver with everything I’ve tried, but there is a huge difference between the best and worst cars.

Gold category;
RSR
Mustang
Corvette
Jag
Hyundai
FT-1
NSX
RCF
WRX

Silver, but gold will be relatively easy;
650s
13 GTR
RCZ
Genesis
Z4
4C
Supra

Silver, gold might be tough;
RCF prototype
Atenza
M3

Silver, can’t see me getting gold;
Suzuki VGT
18 GTR
VW GTi
Peugeot VGT

Obviously some of these are a bigger statement about my skill and driving style than the car itself.

Amazed the Z4, McLaren and Supra so low on your list. THis track is huge on exits and they have very planted rear ends.

I wouldn’t describe them as “low”.

I did a 1:57.362 in the McLaren in only 3 laps. It felt good and has plenty of time left in it.

I’ve since run another 3 laps in the Z4 and clocked a 1:57.153. Probably getting close to my limit for that car.

The Supra is a car I’ve never gotten along with. My best is a 1:57.953 with a couple of mistakes, but I don’t like driving it and can’t find a consistent rhythm in it.

Guys remember few days ago I posted a video of comparison of first turn from the one who currently holds fastest lap and me taking same turn, asking you for comments how he get faster exit then me, at same place on the track he was reaching 130 km/h while I was only reaching 110? I really got great feedback here and listened to your advices and tried to implement what you told me to. I am eternally grateful for your help.
Who is interested can check new video of first turn now, my lap is lower part of screen, WR is upper half of video, this time TC off.

I wish they'd up the cadence on these to one/week rather than one/two weeks.
Yah, it's a trade off. Some people travel and/or have commitments that might not allow them to put in [much] time on any given week so if event was weekly they'd miss a good percent of the TTs. Some people play every day and hit their limit [or get bored] in 3-5 days and thus get nothing out of week 2.

I'm a mix of both honestly, depends on the month. I traveled for 13 days in October and missed half of one event and half of the other so the two week cycle allowed me to keep my string of golds going. I wouldn't die if I missed one, but nice to have the extra time when needed.

Now if there were overlap between TT's that would be ideal. Each ran for two weeks but one new one came out every week so there was always two going in rolling fashion. I'd take half the credits even for this option.

Just put the final shift in for this week's TT. I thought a Gold Time was beyond my reach in the Mazda, I was sitting at a 51.7x not entirely clear where I could improve... I tried another car but that just confirmed the Mazda was the one for me.

Many many laps later, I've managed somehow to grind out a 51.4x but I've been watching the delta and I know if I string my best sectors together (most notably the first corner, the hairpin and the final chicane) I should just about scrape it.

Many more laps later and it comes. As if by magic. I imagined I would just about hang onto a Gold-worthy 51.3 but when I crossed the line it read 1:51.1xx

I've opened a bottle of bubbly, no joke.

I would indeed open the bubbly - you're the World Number 1 with that time :D

Ahm.. I think world record is 1:53:930...so you must be really fast... Maybe in typing... We will soon know 😊

So it's the 911 the standard here for us mortals ?
i cant get a silver, my best time is in a GTR '13 accidentally, my overall times are much better in the RSR but cant seem to beat it

I’ve tried them all now. The full list of golds so far is

RSR, RX Vision, Mustang, Corvette, Jag, Hyundai, FT-1, Lancer, Huracan, NSX, R8 (both), Z4, 650s, Ford GT LM (the older one), Beetle, Ferrari, RCF, WRX.

I will probably go back and see how many of the others I can get to gold with a longer session, but any of these should be viable options for a good result.

A special shout out to the older R8. That car is the most dangerous car in the game. There was even a lap where it spun around at the kink approaching the chicane.
