Started quite late on this time trial. Struggling with consistency. Finding this one very tough. Please have a look at this lap of 1:57:353 and help me find the few tenths needed to get the gold.

There's so many things to improve I'm surprised you haven't already.

  1. Turned too early into T3 (improve the angle)
  2. Use all of the run-off on T4 exit (yes, you can go beyond the white line)
  3. Use all of the exit on the turn leading to the hairpin, as well as the hairpin
  4. Same for the left and right leading to the curved straight leading to the chicane, and keep 3rd for the right hander.
  5. For the left hander before, take the widest entry possible. Somehow it looks like you're avoiding the astroturf.
Easy sub 1:57.

Great advice @TumeK5

@Gogga

I think if you can implement these points you easy run into gold.
Your sector one and two are quite good comparing to my lap.
Im exiting corner 1 in second gear but your sector time is good, but you can win ALOT on corner 5 and 6!, use all of the track, exitspeed is key here.

This was my fastest, quite agressive on 5 and a different line on 6 then you

Good luck, you can do this!

First TT in well over a month, are the times holding up? I clocked in a 1:58:792 for a silver on Saturday, just want to make sure it's still silver lol....I could keep trying for gold but I haven't really had a lot of times lately to practice or do anything fun for that matter 😂

So close.. 3,38%...
I am posting my fastest lap and maybe some of you who are under 1:57:0 can give me some advices what to improve. Grateful in advance for help.
I am aware that I often make small mistakes in turning in too early/late or accelerate too early/late, which is visible and I am open for suggestions what to do to improve.
I am also posting a printscreen closing into very first turn after start straight, to show that I can see the ghost of one person from leaderboard, that is on 1:55:* in my rear mirror, because I can expect comment that I take very last turn very late, I really do, but I also by doing that can get good acceleration for start straight, but hey, I am here to get some advices so help if you can.

The entry of turn 5 kills you here, to much sliding resulting in missing the apex after that resulting in a lower exitspeeds on that particular straight, for me for entry 5 I like to brake in a straight line down to second gear and then line up for the hairpin.

I'll disagree a bit. Agree he loses time there but he is crossing the second sector time at a low 1.03, he is ahead of me here. Third sector is a very low 27, he is ahead of me here by 3 tenths. I cross the line at 57.1 and he crosses at 57.7, so I am roasting him damn near a full second in the last sector with the same car.

He is too tentative across the chicane and absolutely butchers the final corner. He has a mid 56 in him.

Ofcourse there are other corners where he can find some time I agree with you, last corner and chicane are one of them, but changing 5 is more easy than to change the entry speed of the chicane imo, if he nailed 5 in this lap he was there.
And if he nails the chicane and last corner with it he is in the '56
I don't know if "roasting" is the right therm here, but he can def win some there 👍

@Barareklam Keep going, you clearly are capable of gold when you tie it all together 👍

Do you know your sector time for last sector? I think my best is 30.115

After a few days break i came back and had another go at this TT. Jumped into the R8 '19 and improved my time from the Jag, but only by 3 tenths, now down to a 1:58.595. I'm so inconsistent at this circuit, and that first sector I can never get the same time through there on consecutive laps, always fluctuating by 2-5 tenths each time! This is a circuit which I have never got on with...

Still, at least the R8 looks awesome in this amazing livery I found for it!

I’ve just barely cracked into the silver time. I’m pleased to have run a 1:59:4XX since my first lap on the circuit was a 2:05 lol.

I suppose I should give this a few more tries before it ends, but I know I’m losing almost all my time in turns 3 and 4 and I can never seem to get them right even after dozens upon dozens of attempts.

I’ve tried them all now. The full list of golds so far is

RSR, RX Vision, Mustang, Corvette, Jag, Hyundai, FT-1, Lancer, Huracan, NSX, R8 (both), Z4, 650s, Ford GT LM (the older one), Beetle, Ferrari, RCF, WRX.

I will probably go back and see how many of the others I can get to gold with a longer session, but any of these should be viable options for a good result.

A special shout out to the older R8. That car is the most dangerous car in the game. There was even a lap where it spun around at the kink approaching the chicane.
Racing against the clock in all senses now. I have 13 cars I'm yet to get a gold time with.

I just don't know anymore. I brought the Mazda back out again tonight and had absolutely zero consistency. My "best lap" was a full second off my current best so far for the time trial. I might give it one more run, but it's becoming more and more frustrating. Those 3 minute times were abandoned laps from either spinning in the chicane or going nose first into the pit wall coming off the final turn. Instead of running another lap I knew would suck, I turned around and reran the final sector so I could get a good start to the next lap.

What can I say about lap 8? After being up by over a second on my best time after 3 sectors, I got loose coming off turn 11 - a corner I NEVER have trouble with - and in my attempt to correct it, I put two wheels into the sand for a couple of seconds. Despite that misstep, I was amazingly still 7 tenths up coming to the chicane. I turned in, bounced slightly off the curb, and started accelerating out. At that point, my car decided it had had enough and oversteered like a mother one more time to make sure I looped it. That is when my DS4 controller became a flying object across the room. It didn't help as I was heading down the straight leading to the chicane that the darkest cloud on the planet crossed over the track. Not distracting at all...

The cherry on top was my Daily Workout "gift." I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a 5 Star! But in the end, PD was just trolling me, because it was a invitation to buy the Pagani Huayra, a car I already have...:banghead:

This is a pretty solid lap.

Like others have said, turns 5/6 have a lot of time to be gained. You're braking very late for turn 5 and sliding too much. Your turn 6 needs to be much tighter to the apex as well. I hold 4th through T5 and coast to hug the left before apexing T6 in 2nd.

You're also losing heaps of time through the left/right at the top of the hill. You can brake earlier, hold 3rd through the left hander and then get tighter in on the right hander. This makes a big difference because of the long straight following.

Earlier on the brakes and tighter on the final turn will help as well (you shouldn't need to drop to 1st gear).

You have a gold time in you easily. Any one of the tips above will get you there. All 3 will see you mid 56s.

So I have made zero progress on my time. My nemesis is Turn 3 and 4. When I do get those turns right and set on a decent lap, I'll bin it at the chicane. I feel like my 1:57:353 is one of those "One Lap Wonders". I'm not giving up just yet though.. there is still some time left to find the 6 100ths of a second :banghead:

Echoing the sentiments of the many frustrated drivers here. I've just about had it with this track. I'll soon go back to pretending it doesn't exist. At least I picked up a ton of extra experience driving GT3 cars. I appreciate them a little more now.

The results of my most recent session:

Bonus 1: This was my exact expression going through turns 3 and 4. Every time.
Bonus 2: Daylight Savings Time Roulette Ticket Glitch is now fixed for me
Bonus 3: I got a 3 star ticket...
LOL I don't even look at Fuji, what gARBAGE THAT IS, JUST SO BAD.

Sorry caps.

The line for the hairpin shown above is correct, straighten it out and treat it as a double apex. I am surprised you are losing the rear ens anywhere with the McLaren and the 911, i find them almost impossible to lose but maybe the pad makes it a bit easier.
Surprised that I'm losing the rear end in the Mclaren and the 911? That makes two of us

When I going 11/10s, and completely out of patience, I'm a guerilla on the throttle and steering. I suspect that I'm turning way too hard, while pinning the throttle AND going over a bump / track edge. Not enough traction to do all those things at the same time. Also, turn 3 and 4 are cursed.

My process of getting faster is finding new obscure ways to pick up penalties and generally stumbling onto all the stuff that I'm NOT supposed to be doing.

Wouldn't be surprised if I find a way to go over a curb that turns off the timer and soft locks the game.

You're still doing a lot better than me - I can only manage silver with one car, bronze with the rest of them!
Odds on you’re braking too late/too much. There are very few places on this track where you need to brake heavily.

I’m down to 11 cars to get under gold now. Weirdly, the 2 that have really stumped me so far are the BRZ and the RCF prototype. Both have 57.4xx as my best lap.

Do you know your sector time for last sector? I think my best is 30.115
I don't know, especially for my gold lap. But I was watching my first three split times last night and if I cross the 3rd sector at 1.27.6 I finish the lap at about 1.57.4 so what's that, a 29.8. Your best may be a 30.1 but on the lap you posted it had to be slower.

EDIT: Just checked the video and yeah looks like you did a 30.6 in the final sector in the video posted.
