I think I would have a better chance at the Maggiore TT than the NurbGP one, don't you guys think so? Well I know I'm not perfect and I'm not good at every time trial there is, that's how I have to accept it in reality.

Does anyone have a replay in the 2'26.000's at the ring? I'm at 2'27.054, on the cusp of silver.

You ask difficult things here 😂 but since my runs are mostly at 25's to 26's i can load one for you later on the day.

I don't " have " it on that track and always spoil my lap everywhere else except the chikane.

Sorry, I wish I had a magic wand that could grant me aliens powers so I can demolish the track in a couple laps like Jeddah can, lol. But it's not possible, like Evilmuffin said, I need to take baby steps and not focus on the alien replays. I think a key thing I'm missing is trail braking because I lack certain tricks that can lead to higher exit speeds in specific areas on the course.

Don't be afraid to use some of the assists.
For instance you could turn on the corner indicators. Try to aim for these and get the nose of the car pointing towards them.

You could also use ASM and/or CSA. Sometimes, you could just ditch using TC altogether and use either ASM or CSA. Just play around with it and use a combination of assists that you feel comfortable with. As you get acquainted to the car/track combo you could turn it off or leave it on. It's totally up to you.

Keep it smooth and brake in a straight line for now. Exit speeds make a lap time, especially when the preceeding turn leads up to a long straight section of the track.
As your braking improves, so will your trail braking. In my opinion this is one of the most difficult things to master. It takes time and alot of practice to know exactly how to manage the brakes.

Rooting for you to achieve that Shiny Silver!

An alien run isn't helpful as a ghost @Chris30 since in our runs is invisible 🤣 after a while .
You can study them alone to see their points and what they do and how but that doesn't mean you can copy them in our case .

I think we're friends in psn or don't we ?
We have different names from here and am not sure who is who.
If we're not, send my a request at Smoothbore12 to accept it , if we are already just send me a message to identify you

No, I haven't added you yet, my ID is rising_glass1. I chose that name to rise above and stay strong and never give up. No matter how hard things get and that is general in life.

After a first short session in Italy on Thursday where I wasn't feeling the car at all (but still got relatively close to gold), today's 20 laps already went much better. 1:28.876, so unless a small miracle happens, gold should be secure. Same situation at the ring. I think between the two, I'll choose Lago Maggiore to grind some more. The shorter laps have less potential for frustration, and I've also really grown to like the Honda, which surprised me since it's an FF car. But, I mean, isn't it a beauty? 😍

Happy lapping everyone!
I won't say it's great but I would say it's not bad :dopey::cheers:

Congrats, I'll try to follow your path (and faster, if possible).

Hi pilots

This is my first video. Appreciate any comment.

Your lap looks quite good though!, things I do different, I think only the 5th gear uphill (the last corner of the S'es ) I take in 4th, and the last corner i stay in third on exit, but dont realy no whats quicker yet?.....but your lines are quite nice!
I would like to grab every gold, but some obstacles of the NurbGP track is stopping me. See I need to learn how to use MT properly and to use drift tricks and trail braking so I can get some secret exit speeds out of a turn or corner. With me getting 35 bronze medals I still have a lot to learn in order to join the masters and professionals.

Now I bought a bunch of tuning modifications on my Mazda RX8 car which helped me a lot to earn my 2'27.054, or maybe I was lucky on that certain lap.

So, may I ask, what other factors are critical for improving on a certain TT? One thing is I look for landmarks to give me a signal of when to brake or turn.
Like other say Chris, just step by step, watch replays in the same camera view and try to replicate, but not take an extremely fast ghost, just a little faster than you, and set you ghost on sector start, so each sector your ghost resets, learn the racinglines by not going 100%, just eased up, learn how the track flows and expand your speed when you no your track a bit better.

And most important, don't wanna a be an alien in a short time, lots of us have years on GT and just have it in the fingers more that others, dont be discouraged, try to better yourself, that's your goal here!

Maggiore time!, saterday wasn't all free time for me so didn't have the time to do a stint, did get rid of the yellow paint in the evening cause it felt slow.... 🤣🤣

Yeeted some extra decals on it and let it shine under the Lago sun...

This morning I wake up early to give those ears a hard time, headphones on and listen to that Vtec kick in..... Brrraaaapppp!!!

I can sleep peacefully now having reached the 27's but man did I stuff up some better laps, with an optimal of 27.7 I wasn't realy happy with it but then again....I can now take more risk on my next stint, maby it will pay off....we will see

It is a nice time, but kind of a sloppy lap and there is so much more in it, fun little challenge!

You are not very happy with your turn !!! 🤔🤔 What not to hear !!!! 🤣🤣🤣 It's me who should say that I'm not very happy with my tricks.🤣🤣🤣
Your turn is fluid, clear. The more TTs go by, the more impressive you are !!!! You are still ranked at the top of the table. Well done my friend.:bowdown:

Logged on for some laps at Nurburgring last night in the RX-8, in an attempt to improve on my fairly poor silver time. After many restarts and a few glasses of rum I only just improved by about 3 tenths. Might have to settle for a moderate silver on this one. I've never been very strong at this circuit, and this TT is highlighting that for me! If I find the motivation I might jump on again and try to improve into the 24s. Otherwise I might try think up a cool livery for the Civic TC and get that thing out of the garage.

With a few days left at NBGP with the Mazda, I have to work a bit to see if I can at least get silver (gold is out of question).

So after 1 test lap the other day and 3 more laps last week, I've done my first 10 laps session this morning.

Previous record was a 1:29.250.

Good improvement overall, ended up close to silver, with some more work I should be able to get the silver medal. Optimal is already silver so just need to string 4 good sectors.

Replay shared if anyone fancies, but I am still all over the place and not doing what I want/should be doing so not at all stuck at the moment, just need more practice.

😂 I am very mortal, trust me. I'm your 'one lap wonder' kinda guy!

All I know from real life experience with these Japanese beauties, is that you keep her in the VTEC and make her scream. Don't worry she can handle it 😉 🤣
Are you referring to the Civic?

EDIT: I just did my first lap and clocked in a 1'34.639, I think this will be an easier, smoother and calmer TT for me, and yes gold is possible maybe? We'll see how it goes after more laps.

And of cause you can improve. The fundamental racing theory is the same regardless of input method or transmission type. Take baby step, don't try to go from a bronze player to a gold player in one go. Also, do meaningful practice laps instead of doing laps after laps mindlessly.
Mr/ Muffin,
Could you please elaborate on meaningful practice laps? What besides hitting marks and apexes would help with practice laps?
Thanks

Miracle LAP!!! Just earned silver thanks to GT Racing's guide on Youtube. Lol, was not expecting that but I knew this would be a smoother and calmer TT for me, so I'm not worried about the Mazda one, if I can get gold here I'd be happy as a clam, and that's the truth.

Before chasing your PB, spend 10-15 laps to get yourself into the groove (turn off ghost) . During those laps, don't go all out, but instead go at about 90% pace. Those braking points? Don't hit them dead on, brake maybe a car length earlier. Give your self some extra room to work out where the minimum speed point is, and at what angle your car should be when you hit that point. Practice so that when you hit that point, your steering angle is at its sharpest.

The point for these warmup laps is to get yourself comfortable with the car's trajectory when diving into the corner. Once you are comfortable with it, slowly delay your braking until you get back to the actual braking point.

Take your time, work the entry.....get the entry right, the exit is a piece of cake.

I wish I could be this disciplined

I go in all guns blazing, overcook it on the first corner 10-15 times, get angry, blame PD for making a terrible game, shout at the imaginary wife, swear I’m going to quit and never play again, kick my imaginary dog, then eventually enter a zen like trance and nail it on the 40th attempt :dunce:

*this approach is not socially, medically or scientifically recommended.

NB: ‘first corner’ is a misnomer, I usually bin it well before I’ve even started a lap

Yeah that's me! My wife is real though, and shouting at her would be detrimental to my well-being ... but the rest is spot-on :)

Gran Turismo rewards smoothness. The less body roll and brake dive you incite, the better your car will do the things you ask of it. Smooth braking and inputs are crucial. There are places where that doesn't hold true and you just have to mash through but smoothness and accuracy will always be faster than brute force for us non aliens.

My aboved mention method is for us mortals. You aliens can promptly ignore 🤪

That was a much nicer lap than you have gotten. Nice work dude! You've got the gist. Now just slowly work on shift and braking points and hitting perfect apexes. You've got your line, just slowly add speed and you'll get there. 🔥
