Did a bit of testing, and in less than an hour I am sitting comfortably at 1:30.056 (civic), don't mind me, I'm pretty new to the game and never been in this track, I guess gold is a possibility, trail braking is essential!

Supra + Trial Mountain grinded my gears because I achieved silver but in the end won the bronze award :(

By the way, how the delta timer works? It displays your last lap not your best right?

Best lap of the session you are in.

Meh...so close 🫠

Changed my approach on some corners...seems to be a bit more consistent. I had a lap that was 0.15 quicker than my fastest time at the end of 2nd sector.....then I butchered the first left hander in the 3rd sector...BAAaaaah :grumpy:

I had a bunch of time for GT today, and put about 25 laps in with the Civic at Maggiore netting me a 128.614.

Initially I had put this Civic on 16in wheels and spaced them out a bit for the look, but the steering was clipping quite a bit (like the car was too low), especially on compression before the hard downhill left. I wouldn't be able to countersteer if the rear started coming around. I went back and set the wheels to "stock" offsets/width and it seems to have helped the issue, but there are still little moments of it. BoP makes it so that we can't raise the height, so I wonder if anyone else has experienced this?

This is a super fun TT, and I'm leaving so much time on the track for now, but I'll be sure to come back and put in some more work. I'm close to the top 1000, and it would be cool to get in there!

Civic Touring - Maggiore

Hi friends!

With everyone getting nice and stuck in with the Civic it’s time for me to get a decent time in at NGP in the RX8. I have a love hate love hate love affair with this combo; on the one hand the sports hard tyres are frustrating; my most hated tyre compound and immediately I struggled, over driving the car and generally getting frustrated. Isn’t the point of a low power car with little torque and rear wheel drive that you can drive the absolute nuts off it? I find I have to drive this car like I’m treading on eggshells.

However, once you get in a groove it’s very satisfying and the way it is so correctable and balanced is lovely indeed! Gear selection is a real challenge, but isn’t it cool that we currently have two trials with cars that rev to over 9000rpm? You’ve got to give it to PD in a world where we are having electic this, hybrid that and touchscreens everywhere that they’ve got two old school driving machines for us to enjoy, it’s the antithesis of everything that’s bad about the modern car/driving/racing landscape. tips hat

Anyway so once I got the hang of this thing it was immensely fun, until the old track limits reared their ugly head, god they are frustrating! For a couple of laps I didn’t even know where I’d gone wrong! Again there was the hate moment. I set a good time on Thursday sub 2:22 but unfortunately during a viewing of the replay (which I accidentally didn’t save) I realised I had put the ugliest paint job of all time on the poor Mazda. Here is the best view you’ll all get of that!

Anyway so then it was love, I came on for a few laps today hoping to make more quick progress but alas no; I completely forgot how to drive this thing. Suddenly I was sliding everywhere or bogging down in 3rd gear and generally just making a mess, it seemed so intuitive the day before but then suddenly we couldn’t gel!! I’ll put it down to tiredness but yeah the hate came back with a veangance :dunce:. A few angry laps later and I put a lap in to make me love it once more. I’d love to put in a top 100 time for this but I’m not sure how much time I left out there on the track. One things for sure; I STILL LOVE VR!:gtpflag:

Was happy to see I kept the silver at Trial Mountain by the slimmest of margins - 4.99%!
Took quite a few laps to get into bronze at Maggiore - will need to study some videos of how to handle that downhill bend where it's so easy to spin (and I have - a lot!)
3 seconds away from silver at the Ring and not sure I'll make too much effort to get better as not really getting along too well with that combo.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Was gunning for a sub 22 tonight upon returning to the Nurb GP circuit. I had one lap where I ran a 2:22.008 (with a 43.3xx first sector out of nowhere...I had been running 43.6's at best all night), but I ran horribly deep into the hairpin and lost a minimum of 2 tenths. :banghead: I was determined after my failures at Trial Mountain, so I pushed on and finally got into the 21's. I'm happy in a way, but it's a gut punch seeing @Evilmuffin and @Gomario JSP doing laps around me now. I used to be competitive against those guys once upon a time...:mischievous:

Evening all - pleased with a placement in the top 850 at TM given 181k participants. I’m done with the RX8 so moved on to the new event in the Civic.

It’s a little cracker! No sausing of the gearbox to speak of, enough grip to allow you to attack and a new track (for me at least) - what’s not to like? Well, track limits as it turns out, but after many, many penalties, my first 20 laps has yielded a lap well into the 28’s. Going to be an interesting one for sure 👍

EDIT: ran another 30+ laps and managed to squeeze down to 1:28.597 with optimals in the high 1:28.1xx range. That downhill left though is a complete lottery 🤔

So this morning decide to have a fast try on the 2 time trial .

First went with the Rx8, and that was terrible 😂😂😂. I just wanted a poor bronze it took me 7 lap just to get a clean one and i was not even bronze with it ✌️😄
Took me 2 more to get into bronze . I don't know if i will try more this one as at the moment i prefer to do daily race . At least there my qt is under that 3% from best 😂😂

Then i went with the civic knowing it will be much easier , well first lap bronze. Maybe i will come back on this one to get silver.

Thank you RX8 for this humility lesson 😂✌️

Not a bad lap at all and let's be honest ...a sub 22 isn't the easy part!.
If I compare my lap to yours I'm already a tenth up in S1 ( 43.448 and 43.564 ) I think that is mostly T1, you can get a lot closer to the bollard, and maby brake a little later and semi-saus that gearbox 😁🤣 So you def can get a tenth there!
The first hairpin I do in 2nd (I no Jeddah is in 3th) but I'm just consistently faster in 2nd!) And second hairpin I maby stay closer to the inside ( difficult to see with 2 different angles) so there is another tenth there. (1:15.393 and 1:15.612) you third sector is quite good and you won some time back 1:45.047 and 1:45.135 😁, your chicane was good, and I think you can win some by beeing closer to the inside on the last turn.

But great lap mate, I did spend way to much time on it in one week, I guarantee i have double the miles on you 🙈🙈....at least.....

I shared my ghost, maby it helps

Hi pilots

This is my first video. Appreciate any comment.

Ok, what to say?
  • not much as I would love to drive this way too!!
  • your downhill curve of the death is awesome, I'll try to replicate this way.
  • 1:28.500 is perfectly clean (cleaner than 1:28.501 or 1:28.499 for example :dopey: )
  • if your replay is available in game, i'll try to follow you ghost.

In short: "capotto" off !

Best valid lap. If all your laps so far were invalid then it will be the very first of those. Please don't ask how was able to form such a strong opinion on this matter.
Correct. Sorry. I assumed that was known. I think if you don't set a valid lap your delta will be from the best invalid time though, yes?

Since I have sessions two, three or even more invalid laps on the regular I ran into this problem quite often. At first I was very confused but then double checked and I am 99% sure that the reference is your very first lap if all so far are invalid, regardless of whether later invalid laps were faster than this first one.

Well I don't know if I'm just a bit burned out on these but after hating the Supra, I am having absolutely no fun whatsoever in this ****** Civic. :(

Did enjoy the RX8 though, so perhaps I just like road cars on Sports tyres.
Eh, kinda same here. Too many and too frequent with one changing every week, for my personal taste. I get that some people love that but I think it’s a bit much. The last TT I thoroughly enjoyed and did multiple sessions (otherwise it’s been one session, the final hours of the final evening) was Big Willow in Gr.3.
