Practice. But practice good habits. Trail braking. Using exactly the proper gear at exactly the proper time. Carrying speed where you don't think you can. Understanding what corners to sacrifice for better entries and exits in others. Lots and lots and lots of things to ALWAYS work on.

Hi, thank you for the pointers you evoked here. My next sentence will sound diminishing of your reply but is not meant in this way. So I apologize in this regards and hope to clarify my precise thoughts.

What you say is exactly what I already read, heard, even said. But come on , how can they get there being so much better than other.
I mean older and practicing exactly the same I will never be able to compete

Here's what I think of the Civic TT
View attachment 1324268

FF is general I believe is the work of the devil, but this one was somehow even worse.
Easily top 3 worst car we've had in these TT's :yuck:

Oh, and dont forget this car hade the glitch where the car wont turn if you have wide/offset rims.
Garbage.
I truly concur! 100%. Altough I would place it as the worst TT of all TT’s we’ve had so far, with the Radical at Gardens coming in second. You know this already, of course, but it’s an opinion that needs to be aired. This FF garbage was the most painful and annoying thing I’ve driven in this game.

Anyway, after figuring out that the offset was screwing with my unability to turn, I put that back to normal and got some steering ability back (keyword, some) and luckily got a 1’27.442 after sitting on a .682 for a while. Had already planned on not playing at all since it was so awful but gave it a few more spins and somehow managed that.

Last run with the Civic.

I enjoyed this TT and didn't have any issues with the car, but felt quite early on that I couldn't progress anymore so I knew I had to take a different approach if I wanted to improve. I noticed that downshifting just to rotate car doesn't really help at all and only makes me slower so stopped doing that. Immediately started getting better times, consistent 27.4s, 27.3s and a few 27.2 here and there. Improved my PB 3 times and ended the session at 27.215.

(Sorry @RWinkelmann ! :D)

Can you believe that I actually bothered with the Civic? Last week I didn't even think about it but as a member of the GTP Time Trial Crew, I felt compelled to participate in the fun. Now I like Maggiore but I suck on any of the reverse layouts because if you ask me, a track only runs in one direction. It took me a while to simply figure out the right lines and braking points because the track is quite wide for a small car. I don't really have much more to say as the car was pretty easy to drive and didn't cause a whole lot of frustration. What did cause a lot of frustration though was my poor timing, which is odd because cats don't normally struggle with that sort of thing. Anyway I got on top of my crappy throttle control and managed a best time of 1:28.904.

Contrary to my severe case of Clarksonitis when it comes to FF cars, I knocked out 25 laps in the Civic. Comfortably into silver so there's a mil tomorrow to balance out the 3⭐ I got for the effort. Will take some laps in the Genny tomorrow or Friday to see if any of the advice and replay viewing soaks in to me wee brain.

There it is! @NAXEHT cracking the top 50 on the last day.

I had my final try in the Civic last night. Only one lap under 28, and ever so slower than my previous best, so no improvement. I decided to hit the track in Monza tonight. In one word: Infuriating. I still haven't gotten under 38. My best was about half a tenth off my top time. Even more maddening was the lap (see time below) that was invalidated because I ran slightly wide coming out of the first left hander of Ascari. Would have bettered my time by two and a half tenths and well into the 37's. But no. Can't have that happen. Also, PD rubbed salt in the wound by gifting me a 3 star ticket for the third straight day. The "prizes"? 5,000 credits, a muffler for the Viper worth all of 10,500 credits (that I will never use and would still be terrible if we were even allowed to sell parts), and 5,000 credits. Truly awful rewards for all the time spent in this b*tch of a car. :banghead:

When had a try on new tt at autopolis , feel confortable at first lap since it was last week races B so this time i already new the track.
Went litle out first lap , and put a silver on second lap. That was using nsx
Then i did 5 lap with the Ferrari 458 , first 3 was slower than with nsx and managed on 5 lap 1.56.408 that give me gold for the moment, but it's not long the tt had been on so will see .
Confirmed what i was thinking will take a long time before i really new all the track but happy to see i improved .
I know if i come back on this one i can improved it quite easily i think.
Have all good try .
Edit: i 'm really happy as i did not watch any replay , and did not use ghost to do it.

I completely understand your frustration, i often have the same one!
But one thing for me is that it's practice and the constancy I play at that makes the difference !

If I manage to play more than 1 hour 2 or 3 days in a row on the TT I surprise myself with the times I can do! 3 days ago I was 1.38:3xx and 1 day later 1.37:7xx and last night 1.37:285

The work pays off 😉 even if 1st place and far ahead is 1 second, I tell myself that maybe they are aliens but I am part of the same Galaxy 🤣

While everybody seemed to hate the Civic, i kind of did enjoy it, sure it needed a different approach but once i figured out the car i had quite fun with it, altho the sort of straightpiped sound it made wasn't the best for my ears though the headphones
(plus it was such a nice struggle to keep up with @Evilmuffin , well done mate! )

Didn't improve on Maggiore, but stil placed 137 in the end, not unhappy about that.

Did spend more time in the VGT this morning, still kind of a lottery-lap, you can run a wildly good lap and loose .5 of a second on Ascari..., i threw somany nice laps in the bin this morning, seeing a low 52 on exit of the second Lesmo but sliding to much on exit of the Ascari....

But i did got a sort of descent run, but with a bad Curva Grande, i just can't seem to find the spot there and ALWAYS have to lift or I oversteer on the curb due to beeing to far on it with the right front....
and without TC it just goes.... and is not realy catchable on controller, but i have the feeling that's the same for the wheel on this combo?

Ascari wasn't all that great too here, by all together i finally sub 38 without TCS, and that was the goal :lol:

Far from our local aliens, but not bad at all for now

1:56:087 after some laps in the new one. In the Gr.4 Ferrari. 2,57%. I guess it won't hold but some tenth less should be possible. A lot of of places around Autopolis where you can f. up your lap.

Ferraris, Mazdas and a lit if Supras in the top 100.

Tidgney first in front of TheKie. Thats a YT-battle. :-)

I prefer TTs with a fixed car, less questions for me, when you have the choice there is often a more or less meta car that emerges, but it does not mean that it is the right car for plebs like me.
Well I've had a look to my Gr.4 rooster and I can use my beloved Silvia, so I know which car I'll use, even if it may not be the best.

I really like your livery. The Silvia has been the meta on another TT. The Watkins Glen one, I think. So it's still probably a decent enough choice.

Tricky course, but at least a Gr.4 car will handle as expected vs. the Genesis X.
