I did change my routine a bit on the VGT, i already was into the 37's with TCS on one but i knew from the start that achieving a sub 38 on pad without TCS was the goal so loaded a top ghost and set it at 0.2 which most of the time i can't stand and distracts me, i did about 20 minutes of pure starting the lap and take the first chicane and nomather how bad or good it was, restart and try again just to see what i can learn......

What i did learn is.... how the hell do does guys find the traction that they have, it's absolutely insane out of the chicane..
I did this with multiple corners, altho it gets less interesting if you are further up the lap ofcourse..

I had about 15 minutes left before i had to leave for work to do some full laps and was surprised what i had learned because i did multiple 38.0 laps, no PB crush but man i wanted to continue!

So for right now, i'm positive i can lower my PB without TCS :) :)

FFS, why does everything have to be so complicated... lol

After settling with the Cobra in S7 license, I put my 3 drivers in silver at Monza, then returned to LM to try to improve my ranking.

300 km later, I've gone from 1' 28.993 to 1' 28.771......yes, I know, a lot of km for not much, but still, from 6183rd, I've dropped to 3952nd (last night..).....là, grandpa is happy!!!!🥳🥳🥳😎😎

I'll probably pass the 4,000 mark by tonight, but that's okay, it's my best ranking after the Lake Louise 6,000....

and I had even better several times, but I lost everything, a few times at the bottom of the descent and the worst, once I had swallowed my ghost who was 0.5s ahead, but bad last turn and I hit the wall on the left before the finish......GRRRrrr 🤬🤬😡😡

there was a "AAAAAAAAHHHHH" that must have been heard for 10 km around and blew 10 tiles off my roof.....😂😂😂

grandpa is not happy!! 😡😤😡😤😭😭
I'll leave it at that, wait for Thursday's and go to Mount P for S1....:gtpflag:

I'm putting up small photos because I don't know how you manage to post large ones....

If you don't hit that last left wall coming up on the straight now and then you are not trying hard enough 😁🤣👍👍

I know the feeling...trust me 🤣🤣
But let's be honest ...dropping 2231 places is a pure win, congrats on your best placement ever already 😁💪, that deserves a half_sourly green arrow 😁😁

So, put in some work today but couldn't improve my time, at least not with a valid lap. Had an invalidated one (curbs are not my friend sometimes) coming in at 1:38:7xx. I feel like 1:38:5ish will be my max to go for.

Huge respect for you guys pushing out 36-37 times. Insane.

I think I'm done with the genesis
I'm in a spot where silver is safe, gold is out of reach, and I really don't know where to look for time.

I mean, I know it, but this tt is so punishing for each single miscues and things happen too fast that frustration comes quite quickly.
However I'm happy for the time spent and for the couple of things I learned.
Let's see what tomorrow will bring us.

All you guys in here smashing it and I just don't understand this car. I feel inept. I'm at 39.2xx and feel miles away. I've had optimals in the mid to low 38s but it just feels so far.

If your optimals are low 38 you are far from inept. The real challenge here is putting that perfect lap together. It's in there for us 😁🙏

Same here, I think I will stop trying with that combo and satisfied with silver - which will break my pretty long gold streak.

This month new record, almost 10 000km driven.

aaahh mais.....they all pissed me off....... 😡😡😡

I log in and see that from 3952, I'm 4060th.....

well, I had to go back for a session........ to find the 3000....

and boom, I managed to do everything right: 1' 28.622 ! 🥳🥳🥳😎😎
and I had an optimized time of 1' 28.451...

2824th, 9 hours to go, I should still be in the 2000s....by far my best ranking.😂😂

by the way....sorry Jéjé..........😔😔😏😉😉 1/1000 !!

at 74, I'm faster than at 73.......vivement my 75th birthday...😂😂😂

it's the TGT2 you think????.......🤔🤔😂😂

and also to have put the ABS on "low", I felt better the car......

and this afternoon, I saw a video from TheKie25, who discovered that with the CLK-LM, he was much more comfortable with the ABS on "low" and that the car turned better...... watch this video youtube.......

Back in the Genesis for Day 3.

This car still fights me at every corner. I had some luck adjusting ABS to weak instead of default. Some others here suggested it makes turn in easier on the slower corners.

Just over 80 miles, but I've cracked Gold and by the tiniest of margins, gotten into the 38's.

I'm really hoping for a more enjoyable TT starting tomorrow.

Here's what I think of the Civic TT

FF is general I believe is the work of the devil, but this one was somehow even worse.
Easily top 3 worst car we've had in these TT's :yuck:

Oh, and dont forget this car hade the glitch where the car wont turn if you have wide/offset rims.
Garbage.

The genesis around Monza does not fill me with interest either, so I'll likely grab gold and move on with that one.
Having said this, I have now achieved a 1:37.869 which places me 158th currently. :sly: I think this will be safe enough for gold

What a shocking car to drive. I think part of the problem is sports soft tyres which do not provide anywhere near the grip that this car demands in braking and acceleration. Perhaps it is also missing boost-by-gear? The amount of power being deployed in 1st - 3rd gears is insane, those 3 gears are completely unusable in any circumstance. This is what I imagine it is like to drive one of these big turbo Honda Civics that sit on the rev limiter in every gear.

I really question why the car is set up this way, if anything I want to think about Genesis even less having driven this monstrosity, surely that is bad marketing? But that is getting off topic.

Looking forward to the new trial tonight, hopefully something more driveable this time.

Hmm I really feel like leaving the closet about something
Please excuse me about it I don’t mean to try getting attention over it.
Well I have no clear idea on how to grasp the marging between a Top ten rank time and a 1000th or even 2000th ranked.
I mean how is it possible in such a controlled setting, we could even say such a clinical trial test ground, to observe a whole 2 seconds margin ?
How is it even possible ? How can almost every time the « same persons » can rank in each TT such blasting chronos?
Ok they are Masters but it is not like physic does not apply the same way to them in game. How can they get there each time and not the other 0.5%?

Speaking of myself I « learned » racing through iterations of GT from childhood at time there was no video tutoring available or any kind of external help in order to « get good ».
I still cannot comprehend how is it achieved to get perfect laps in a reasonable amount of attempts by some
I mean sane amount of attempts
And that for other it will need infinite practice and never getting close to it
Is there a dark pattern I could have missed this whole time
Did I miss something besides « alien » do not try to understand it ?

Did this kind of astonishing fact ever gets to you at all ? I see some top times here and well 2 seconds is like a year in racing time sooo

Chance in scoring a « magic lap » at each TT by the same people has to be excluded but where does the talent come from to achieve this?
Better nervous system signal / neurons reaction time? Vision ? Coordination?

Mostly what can’t be replicated by other top notch players
And I don’t count myself in this category

Practice. But practice good habits. Trail braking. Using exactly the proper gear at exactly the proper time. Carrying speed where you don't think you can. Understanding what corners to sacrifice for better entries and exits in others. Lots and lots and lots of things to ALWAYS work on.
