Did it! Had a brief session before watching football earlier and got into the 38s!

I still think there's some more time to be gotten, but not sure how much, and not sure how much time I'll have to search for it. We'll see. I think I'll aim for 38.5 and If I get there, I'll decide if I want to push for more.

In a bizarre and unexpected way, I think I'm enjoying this TT more than the recent one with the Mazda. With this one, I feel like I know the strategy and more or less why I'm losing time, and it's just a matter of execution. With the Mazda, I really was never sure why I was losing the time, and so I didn't know what to change to improve

Wow this thread really accelerates faster than that Genesis! Need to back track and catch up. A good read with my morning coffee.
Fabulous 40 here but still feel 25.

Decided to give the orange garbage truck another go yesterday with just TC set at 1. I stopped over driving the car and it paid dividends. Satisfied with this time... for now.

Hopped back in the VTEC. Although I was unable to improve my time, I noticed that I am becoming more consistent in my lap times.

🤣🤣 i was sooooo not feeling the VGT this morning so i went back at the civic for a change, revisiting is not my forte but i had to....
Immediately felt better then the whole last week trying... funny....

Suddenly had a few .7xx laps and had a descent .673 now but with an optimum of .5 flat 😳😳 so maby I will try again tomorrow?

While taking my foto in the righthander on thr S'es I found this guy..... what the hell ? 🤣🤣

Has anyone that uses AT gotten gold at Monza yet? 😅 Giving it another go today.. Let's hope it's not mission impossible (i know so for a fact because i did a 1:39:1xx lap but it wasn't in the trial 😂)

Sorry I can't be helpful, I only drive on AT mode and only got silver on Monza.
If you already scored a 1:39 in AT, you should be able to replicate it in the TT (or very close).

Yeah i believe so aswell. My record was 1:40:4xx on the TT, but i wasn't using any ghost.
Just entered the 1:39:994.. Still ways from gold but i feel like it's in there.

Challenge accepted! It is possible, just a bit tricky because it puts you in such low gears. I put TC on 2 and took slightly more care with the right foot.

, it's not personal tho, i drive a Clio ( did have a nissan 200SX back in the days....., i could have bought a GTR from the money i did spend on that crappy thing ) , same for the left window decal....., i'm a nice person...married and not into others moms...

Last corner is still hellish to pick up real speed, and i used the 4th gear there. Could use some tips to get it down further, opt. lap is 1:38:7xx now.

Hoping to find some time to commit to knocking some tenths off my currently silver time at Maggiore tonight. Off away for work early Weds am so this will be my last chance!

Any indication what the next TT is likely to be? I'm probably going to skip the Monza event, reading how much people have struggled with it I think it'll just be a nightmare for me!

So I got gold on the last 2 TT not thinking I would managed it as it was not my cup of tea, Civic should be safe with the time I have atm, but man, that Monza is giving me headache and I usually perform pretty good around Monza. That being said I've just watched some videos here today and hopefully it should give me the second I need to get into gold territory. I think I'm loosing a lot of time on the Variante Ascari exit and on the 2nd Lesmo exit as well.

Knocked it down further to 1:39:039 - 2,8% from the top time now. Let's hope the aliens don't Improved further on this one. I know there's still about ~0,5s to gain here, but i just need a perfectly smooth lap for that.

Got myself down to a 38.2 and ~340th place. My optimal is a 37.6 but I just can't string it together in the big slidy bastard! I've been trying for nearly 3 solid hours, I don't think I can do it.

Just came here to say how much I dislike driving the Genesis VGT. The fact that you need to exit corners in 5th gear and brake a quarter kilometer in advance just makes it not enjoyable to me at all. It doesn't really even matter at which RPM you upshift because the car has so much power throughout half of the RPM range.

My goal is a 1:36, and I won't rest until I get it.

I look at the combo, and start to hate it
Then I try it, and need 10 laps each time to figure out how to drive it, and continue to hate it
Then something happen, laps go in like smell of spring in the air, but I still hate it
Definetly a tossic TTromance

Btw, for non Italians / who has never been in person in Monza: I have been there many times, I can assure that we don't have birds singing at an higher volume then cars in between the lesmos, just in case you mind...

Yes, driving this combo is a total mind ****. You completely have to train your brain to un-learn all of your normal instincts and adhere to a completely new, bizarre paradigm where you try to get into 5th gear as fast as possible without spinning out and then stay there.

Once your brain has been completely washed, you can then attempt to get lower times in this new Alice in Wonderland world where up is down.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll blow past most of us in no time

Congrats 🎉 and im 180 degrees the opposite, i find this car one of the best ones we had in a TT in a looong time. Cant wait for a demon TT on sports hards 😆 feeling constantly on the edge of grip/spinning is so addictive

Here's my (rather pathetic compared to the one posted a couple of posts above) lap from tonight. Almost into the 37's despite some butthole clenching moments. I lost a good chunk of time at Ascari, as evidenced by my exit from the turn. I do not recommend doing what I did! It's so difficult to put together a full lap without mistakes. Braking down to the correct speed for each corner is one thing, then getting it turned in and the right angle to come out is another. I can't stand this car, but I want to get a sub 38 and the only way to do it is to hop back in and go again. I really don't want to.

My exit out of Ascari...ramping off sausage curbs is not recommended.
