Will you look at that. Went from barely into silver, then got dropped to bronze, through no fault of the shenanigans of @EbrahimX7 and @Barareklam , and after 29 laps I'm, for now anyway, comfortably back in silver by 1.152 of those dastardly

seconds. Even flirting around with getting into the top 5,000. I knew it was the paint job. Hmm. Looking at the color of Dick's gloves and hat...

If VGT cars are the future of car design then I think I’d rather stick with my Mercedes Sprinter diesel van thank you very much. That thing is horrible.

I see no hope of getting gold in this one. Currently stuck at 1:40.610.

Is there a trick to getting this monstrosity to go around a corner? So far, I figured out you need to hit the throttle to shove the backend round and hope you don’t spin out. There must be a better way, right?
I found my time by using, usually 2 higher gears than I would normally, upshift it when the electric down arrow goes out leaving any low speed corner. Trail braking is practically useless getting this car to rotate. Get your braking done before and turn in smartly to the apex without any brakes applied. Maintenance throttle at the apex and feed it more as you get the wheel straightened out. I was leaving it in 5th for Lesmos and Ascari. I'm guessing that little red down arrow on the battery gauge means the 'lectrics are engaged and they pull hard. This thing does not behave like any other 4WD car in this game. Has anyone tried to adjust the torque distribution? Does this thing even have it? I haven't thought to look for it. Might next session.

BTW Just turned a 1:40.034 this last 29 lap session. Not certain if there's a gold time in it for me but certainly a .39 is there.

Nope only setting able to change in the TT, while driving, is TCS. No adjustment to stock transfer case either, or what's called Front/Rear Torque Distribution in the settings page.

Hmmph. Oil's at normal. Gonna' fix that and do another session later next week.

I have be coming out of corners in like 5th. But throttle maintenance is key. Also I’m finding, if I hear a wheel slip, then I shift up, though I’ve already lost time at that point.

I did improve though. Now at 1:39.945 @ 3.71%.

Edit. I’m using TCS2. I tried to go TCS1 as that really trains you on the throttle response, but I’m still spinning out too much, so I went back to TCS2.

Perhaps that is the key. Train on a harder TCS and then do your hot lap on TCS +1 what ever that was.

I was TCS0.

At one point during a red lap, I'll variante you Monza, I came to a full stop, power brake launched it from that stop in each gear but 8th. The only 2 gears that didn't shred those SS tires? 6 & 7th. Wanna' know something else I did? Power braked it from 1st and snap shifted until it stopped melting the rubber. Which gear ya'll reckon I had to get to before it bogged down enough? Yeah, that would be 7th gear. Try it, you'll like it!

I have to say about this car, when I took the time to look at it, I like that panoramic side/rear view display across the entire dashboard. That's some cool $#!7 there!

Oh. My. God. I’ve just done my finest ever lap! It’s early days at Monza but I just hope everyone else just quits trying and this holds (I’m looking at you @djolliea 👀🤣).

I’ve been lapping all day at around the 1:37.7 mark with no real improvement. Really struggling with a clean line through variante della Roggia. But all of a sudden despite missing the apex in turn one of all places I got nearly everything else right for an absolute MONSTER LAP (for me :sly:). Also incredibly sorry @half_sourly for displacing you at the top of my friends leaderboard, you are setting some incredible times sir! •tips hat•

Hey ma look at me world top 25 (as of 23:12 GMT 27/01/24 )! YouTube video incoming and replay saved in GT7 under #gtp #dantes

Good day everybody, this has put a biggggg smile on my face :dunce:

Tremendous lap, well done. That should be celebrated, not apologised for.

56 laps around the sun
Got some laps deleted, survived cancer
Good to hear mate!, mee too 😁💪🙏

I was awake early by the furry terror squad, it sounded like there was a AMG doing burnouts in my livingroom so went down at 7AM....

What the heck, we just turn the white thing on and yeeet the orange flattend spaceship around the italian tarmac.

First few laps it looked like i was nerveouse, car was all over the place and was only hitting 38.5's but then suddenly I ran my exact pb of .311 again 🤣 ( how in the world )
Followed by a few error laps, but finally had a sort of descent lap in.

I had a realy bad Curva Grande due to the need to lift mid corner here and Parabolica wasn't optimal aswell so there is still a lot of time on the table, but I can sleep peacefully now and the pressure is off 😁

And the key was beeing easy and 5th gear 🤣

Into the 37's with a 1:37.950

@Dolph Drago I'm sorry mate 🤣

@Dan_Tes what an epic lap mate, congrats on that insane time, that is realy hauling with them big boys!, VR does good for you!! 🙏🙏🙏

Best thing ever

Knocked about a tenth off at Maggiore, sitting at 5.02% off leader.
In the same session I somehow managed to get 0.4 seconds ahead of my PB by the time I got to the last corner - that would have made silver - and somehow, goodness knows how, I managed to hit the wall! Bugger.

Finally sat down and had a couple hour session with the Genesis VGT today.

I was very leery of this TT after reading all the scary comments in the thread about how horrible it was going to be. And for the first hour, it lived up to all of it! What a PITA it was. SS tires on this beast is a recipe for pain and suffering.

Ultimately, I at least partially figured out the secrets, and I was pretty happy to be able to turn in this lap for a gold. (Not sure if it will last).

Sooo close to the 1:38s. Ran another 10 or 20 laps and couldn't break that barrier. If it wasn't one thing it was another. I really feel like there's at least another 0.5 out there, maybe more, but I need to pack it in for the night.

Anyway, my conclusion is the key to success with this TT is that you have to unlearn all of your instincts and wrap your head around a whole new way of driving - lots of braking lead time, staying in higher gears as many others have mentioned, and never pushing too hard lest you spin into oblivion.

I started on TCS 2 as I was getting used to the car, but ended up on TCS 1. I also switched ABS from default to weak as someone suggested, and that helped with turn in at the corners on liftoff of the brake. You really have to trail brake with this combo.

Big thanks to @Tidgney and others on the thread for all of the hints!

Don’t worry they will drive themselves

32 here 😁
Giving the TT a go today, hope i can redo my miracle lap of 1:39:1xx i did during the VGT 5 lap race. Did that again today and got 1:41:xxx 🙄

Okay, 1 and a half hour later, i'm at a really solid Silver (1:40:399) - with an optimal lap 1:39:7xx. Gold should be doable with enough time put into it. Gonna be racing a 1:38 ghost and see what they do different from me!

So not a gold membre here , for the moment i just have a go on each trial to get a quick bronze , with having the game from one month now i prefer going having fun daily race etc
But each week i have a Quick go on the combo.
This one took me 5 restart to even pass the starting Line 🤣🤣 , then first lap invalidate and get bronze on third lap using tcs1 , did 2 more lap with tcs2 and improve by almost a second. So 15 mn to get 250 k not bad.
On this one i don't feel i could get silver if i tried or with hours hours hours.
Do i found this car horrible to drive , honestly not worst that a lot of supercars on same tyre.
This Quick try give me a good laughing at start spin witn even not full throtle 😉✌️
As everytime i went to watch best lap available, what a drive .
Congrat to all that attempt this one

Wow Dan, you're like the speed of light! I'm coming for the pot of gold too!!

Go for it Chris, you got this!
So should I keep the TCS at 3-4 or should I drop it down to 0? I seem to be doing fine at 3, the VGT car doesn't slide too much except for when I'm taking a corner or turn. Wow, I still have silver at the Civic TT, I hope my time holds. i pray to God no one will improve anymore, xD. However gold is out of range for me at Maggiore.

Hmm, interesting idea. I did a mini-test yesterday as follows, based on my earlier comment about not being sure downshifting helps in this car:
  • restart to ensure same conditions.
  • Shift to 5th as soon as the blue light hits the end of the bar
  • Brake 100% at 150m and keep it at 100% until the car stops completely.
I did this with TC-gear combinations of TC0, TC1 and TC2 on the TC side, and staying in 5th versus yeeting it down to 2nd on the gear side. So six combinations and I ran each three or four times.

The results were not conclusive, but there may be a meter or two in it for downshifting, but not much. Conveniently the car stopped more or less on the change from black to green around where the Parabolica starts to turn right, making comparisons easier.

I would not call it scientific, because braking at exactly the same place is almost impossible at that speed, but I tried to always brake just as the 150m board left my screen.

You could do something similar for the upshift idea.
I have made several tests now and I have to say that is does NOT slow down faster in 8th. But braking distance is very similar. So I guess each and one of us can go how we like with braking. Good luck everyone.

Man is see some nice livery cars passing by.... I have some sort of a bug??

Just uploaden so no 4k yet I asume

@Chris30 I have it on 1 or , higher seems to realy hold the power back when accelerating 😁

Yes. You do have a bug. Programmers call 'em features however. You can fix this feature by applying any community livery first then go back and put any livery you want on it. Seems the gift cars are the only cars that have this annoying feature. Mine had it too. Alternatively, you could buy the car from BC, as those cars do not seem to have that annoying feature.

I'm going to try out this ABS on weak setting. Probably start flipping cars around under braking. I'll give it a go anyway.

Thanks!, then I'll buy one too 😁

For me almost all my trails lately are on ABS weak, but on this one I started on default, it doesn't brake all that well ( or maby its the lightspeed the thing reaches.....) so I'll take all the braking power I can get 🤣

Good luck!

Part of the problem with this combo is how they hamstrung the braking and acceleration power with SS tires. It'll rotate like mad under accel and understeer equally madly under braking. Dunno what mad bastard had the idea to throw SS on it for this trial. They should be hung by their toenails and flogged with a thousand wet noodles for it. If the league I'm in ever runs this car it'll be on RS.
