@Barareklam I couldnt make upshifting while braking work. Mainly because i lose focus for the corner lol. So it felt weird for me and too much shifting to do and the car approach the turn quick. Im getting old man reaction times I guess 😅. But I gotta thank you anyway cuz I played to try it and did few laps after with normal downshifts and got a .3 🎉🎉
Way to go @Barareklam. :grumpy: Was in the Silver now it be Bronze. You just cost me 750,000. 😉

I sure hope that new paint job works.

45 here. I'm old. I'm broken. Metal in legs and cartilage removed in places. I use my hands for work and have since I could use my hands. I'm definitely at the end of my physically useful life. 😂😂 I still ski and snowboard and hike and swim to try and keep some semblance of fitness but man it's getting harder and harder. Cheers to all you old bastids!

Am I really one of the "younger" guys here at 36? I certainly feel old.
Not the only one, but 35 here.

My younger sister often complains about the occasional body ache, but I solved this with my other hobby. Heavy weight training. Is it a getting old pain, or just soreness? I tell myself it's the latter and when I'm retired hopefully I can just keep lying to myself! :lol:

I am happy to know that this hobby has a lot of longevity. I feel inspired by the older (than me) folks here. But also the younger ones setting World Records on a weekly basis (@EbrahimX7). Great community here :cheers:
 
Oh. My. God. I’ve just done my finest ever lap! It’s early days at Monza but I just hope everyone else just quits trying and this holds (I’m looking at you @djolliea 👀🤣).

I’ve been lapping all day at around the 1:37.7 mark with no real improvement. Really struggling with a clean line through variante della Roggia. But all of a sudden despite missing the apex in turn one of all places I got nearly everything else right for an absolute MONSTER LAP (for me :sly:). Also incredibly sorry @half_sourly for displacing you at the top of my friends leaderboard, you are setting some incredible times sir! •tips hat•

Wasn't planning on doing any more TT this week, but found myself on the PS5 tonight and thought I'd try a few laps... 64 laps later I'm back to 60th for the Civic on a 1:27.514. There was more in the lap too but since we are talking age I'm 34 and decrepit 😂 so I had to stop due to hand cramp and lateness of the evening!

Quite like the trend line on the lap chart page.

I'm proud of myself, being in rank 12-13,000 is a huge accomplishment for me, normally my rank is much lower than that. I just have to time those Lesmo corners right and brake early with caution. And the final left/right/left chicane before the straightway before the finish is tricky too, because I can't touch the sand/dirt.

Well going to work on the Monza TT some more. Wish me the best of luck.
 
First go at Monza… love the track, despise the car. Interesting challenge none the less (in the same way that wrestling an alligator is an interesting challenge), but I think one and done for me.

I'm less than 3 seconds off your time, 1'41.273, what's your replay here? The Lesmo corners are killing my good laps and then the part after you pass the bridge(around Sector 3).
 
Done with that CE after 353.1miles and having to turn a best lap ghost on a .1 offset. First time I've chased a ghost of any kind since GT5. Did manage to better gold by 1.138 seconds. Happy with that.

Time to see if that paint job truly does make me faster. After a smoke. And a think about it.
 
If VGT cars are the future of car design then I think I’d rather stick with my Mercedes Sprinter diesel van thank you very much. That thing is horrible.

I see no hope of getting gold in this one. Currently stuck at 1:40.610.

Is there a trick to getting this monstrosity to go around a corner? So far, I figured out you need to hit the throttle to shove the backend round and hope you don’t spin out. There must be a better way, right?
