I just don't have what it takes to tackle the longer TT's with silver and gold, once again I'm stuck with bronze. :(
See, Le Mans is more of a track for professionals and aliens who know their driving skills to the bone.

I think braking on the grass to widen the angle of the right hander at the beginning of sector 2, is technically the fastest way to execute said corner.

It's funnily enough, more consistent 🤔.

what grass are you talking about ?

Some of the track is too narrow and bumpy for the Dino, about 40-50% of the time I'll lose my rhythm and control on the first half of the track.
The track is the same for all the players, Chris: not narrow, not bumby, not...

The advices we give you on every TT will be the same for this one: take a deep breathe, take your time to learn the track, the curves, the braking points, etc. Watch video guides, upload a ghost you can follow, etc. I'm sure you can gold this one.
Maybe you could set the CSA to strong, the car could be more handly for you.

Chris, I hope I'm not crossing any line here, but I can't help to not see a pattern going on. Which would be that you always join the TT party later than you should. You've been starting putting work on it after a week or even 10 days the TT started.

I'm pointing this out because the earlier you start lapping, the more repetition you can get. And for me, at least, repetition is key. Lapping over and over, helps me building muscle memory and find the details here and there that can give me time.

For example, the Bugatti/LeMans TT my Bugatti Gr4 has more than 2000 kms driven. I bought it just for the TT and drove only at it. I don't have a top timer, geez it is not even a competitive one, but I can say I put the gold time to work there because I had tons of repetition there to learn the track and the car.

Also, If I may say, avoid comparisons at all cost. It is not healthy. And trust me, I have had my share of self disapointments and bad thoughts in this life. It took me more than 40 years (!!!) to turn on my "I don't give a ****" mode. And that made me a happier man.

There is beauty on differences. There is a priceless value knowing that you put all the work you could on something, and if that is better than somebody's work or not is just a detail.

Every once in a while one of the crazy fast people let a hint slip. I have no idea what it actually means, as my method is 'just try to keep the bloody thing on the track', but I am sure this will help make somebody faster. :)
Let me then point out into details what I mean. I think that one good thing to learn how to get faster is to study replays. One very simple way of doing it is to watch replay of regular alien @djolliea here, he posted video, scroll back few pages and you will see his video, press play, and then go in setting on youtube, cog wheel in lower right hand corner, press and select 0.25 speed so video plays slowly so you have enough time to catch small details. So in this image here, which is printscreen from his lap just at entering penultimate corner, so he first turs to the left, that is logical, since corner is left, but since Dino is very happy to transfer weight left and right how it feels, Djolliea then steer to the right, before the turn, in order to keep car steady and fast through that corner. So in this case, since Djolliea posted a small picture in picture video of VR cockpit view, so you can see here that steering wheel is pointing in opposite direction of the turn, and if you are studying someone else video, you can check small red ball that is just above revs display, a small red ball that shows your steering angle, and you can see here that it point to right. So that is how you take that corner, you turn in left first, slightly, and when car is about to start rotating too much and losing it, or you actually do it just before so car is steady, then you point your steering to the right, then you continue finding that steering angle so car is still stable and pass quickly. Watch his replay in slow motion and you will know what I meant :) go for it, try the same.

Edit, if you watch replay in game of anyone, you can pick cockpit view so you can see steering wheel how they steer, left, then right before the turn. That is what I meant. However in youtube you can pick play speed, which might give you more time to see everything if you select 0.25, therefore I recommend watching Djollieas video from the y t.

Well, it's all about how you handle each corner which will determine the outcome/result. It may be bad, it may be in a good way. It's like gambling, you never know what you'll get until you try.

Muito obrigado meu amigo

Like for Grand Valley, I finally found the key for scoring a decent lap on Sardegna.
Once you understand how to manage T7, you gain confidence, speed, and you drastically lower your time on T2.

The last turn is not much complicated.
My error was to hit the full throttle after the last turn, but you can do it much earlier, while the car is turning.
You Portuguese as well?

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. I guess that my limited abilities and knowledge just led me to believe that this behavior was trying to manage the car sliding around and not as a calculated maneuver. Maybe I'll eventually know enough to begin to understand it. Thanks again.

Excellent explanation as ever. I would add that sometimes, when you watch the YouTube version and cockpit view is not shown (example Tidgney or Kie or MistahMCA's guides), then you need to manually increase the video quality to 4K or similar, else the red steering indicator is smudgy.

The bottom picture, which is where the second sector begins. Feel free to watch my replay to see how I did it my friend😎
Generally speaking, following your ghost finds me the most time before I start adding my own touch just about every time your ghost is available. Just wanted to say thanks. You've probably helped me find more time at the edge of my ability than any other ghost 👍🔥🔥

Thank you my friend, 😯👽😯👽😯 you won't believe but I just understood that you are holl01!!!
You have been the first alien ever for me ! More than 10 years ago I watched your replays on the Nordschleife and I said to myself that you come from another planet ! happy to meet you champion

Wel, this is gold in its own way, beautifully spoken, and 100% true. 🙏

When you look at the statistics, thanks to @half_sourly , you can see the TT gold time is really hard, more than most licence test or missions.
I have 100% completed the game and i'am slow on many TT.

More 100k players drive TTs, bronze or silver is the medium result. Gold is hard, top 1000 require talent, top 100 require a UFO abilitation...

It is calculated, yes. Maybe you can practice on turn...5 I think it's 5, last right hander before end of sector 1. You turn to the right, but, If you keep your steering just to the right ,car will eventually start losing it and you hear tires squeaking and maybe first then you start correction, but if you approach turn 5 like in following way, turn to the right to nail apex of that corner and then, you move your steering slightly to the left, very slightly, you will carry more speed, tires will squeak less. Once again, check replay videos and pay attention to steering angle and then try to do the same and you will get fast lap times. Good luck.

I totally agree with this statement. Here are my stats:

Getting gold on TTs isn't really easy. Sometimes, it's almost impossible for human players.
You need to put a lot dedication, time, and efforts to get a result.
And even with a lot of dedication, time, and efforts, it's not guarantee to get the yellow reward.

I know my driving skills and have actually driven Le Mans and the Mulsanne Straight at night… I was in a rental car with the kids in the back and an angry wife. No one could toss that rental car around like me, pretty sure I clocked 15 minutes that night… just on the straight 😬🔫.

Well I have totally run out of patience at Le Mans, I spent 2 hours into this morning and got absolutely nowhere, so my time 4'31.387 will have to do for bronze. There are too many corners, turns and bends and the track limits are ridiculous here. So, I quit!

@Evilmuffin I'll never understand where you got that superb time, in the top 30. That's brilliant.
Hmm....I dunno.

I guess for one I know the track pretty well and had driven other Gr4 cars many times. It is a good money grinding race after all.

Then the car's handling somehow suits me pretty well. Most of the corners I could get it to slide just enough during trail braking which allowed me to apply throttle very early. On those few corners that I couldn't, I lost time to Tidg's ghost.

As I said at early morning, I'll try more - and I did.
Improvement came in form of 5 thousands better time...
Ok, I tried again at noon and same story, minimal improvement.
And now came evening and 3 significant improvements, with best as new PB of 1:05.324!

That brings jumping over about 5-6 friends on leaderboard...

And here is a lap:

To me, going around first corner came faster, don't know why.

Exactly what I felt.....I've seen her lap time on the "Schleife" at least 50 times with the M6...... world record 1-lap time.....:bowdown:
I didn't know her well and I was far from gold at the time, but on the other hand, I was convinced that I wasn't playing the same game, nor driving the same car.... 😄

it wasn't possible otherwise: he didn't have the same tires as me, different brakes and 50 more HP.....🤔

but how did he do it?????.....why did the car seem docile, brake wonderfully and turn without a hitch, while mine did as it pleased and spent its time in the grass???😂😂

holl01, since I've been given the opportunity, like Todt, I'm happy to finally congratulate you: a great champion!:bowdown::cheers:

you made me dream and somehow also motivated me.....not to equal you, but if it was possible to go so fast with this car, I must have been doing it wrong......

I tried to spot a few ways of doing it and I ended up with the gold and better, beating my brother......who beat me afterwards....normal, .he's younger, he's only 73......😂😂
