Why does it matter what place you are though? Isn't all that matters your time? So even if you're the last person in the 2 week window to post a time that is exactly within 1% of the top time, you'd still get gold, right?
It doesn't quite work like that.

With a time trial like this you are going to see lots of people with the same time.

GT ranks the first fastest ahead.

So if you are just going for gold or a medal then that's fine. If you want positions for kudos or just self achievement it's a different thing you are measuring yourself against.

On other time trial news...... got 1:06.82 at the DINO stages!

WELL AINT THAT IRONIC MR ALMOST-ALWAYS-P1-IN-THE-TTs!

Yes, so long as you're in the 1% (or 3% typically) of the P1 time you get gold. Your overall time matters none short of being within the cutoffs. But, bragging rights are a thing and some like to push to be as low on the rankings as possible, even if there is no longer a monetary reward. I am not one of thoes people, but many are for sure!
hahah ok I can certainly understand that then

I've had a brief hiatus from GT7 for a few months to play some other flat mode games I wanted to play, so forgive me if this has been covered before. Is there a way for us to look and see a history of the time trials we've competed in and what we've gold/silver/bronzed? Like a site/script someone has created like that GT7 TT Statistics page

I imagine the answer is no but 🤷‍♂️

I had some optimal clearly under .750 but I'm still over for now - 35.751 - and even if I know how to improve my PB, I'm still unable to do it...
Controlling smoothly the car at that speed is something else... :scared:

What they said. I'd like to get the highest placing possible. Not always, but sometimes.

No, PD, I do not enjoy BDSM. That's what this TT is to me. Gold is easy enough, but I don't find running 90% of my car on the apron flat out fun. But as I try to finish as high as I can in these TT's, that's what I'm forced to do. Anyone got tips using a controller? I turned the sensitivity down to -2 since the slightest movement causes the car to instantly veer one way or the other. It didn't help. My best lap for 100 miles of work and grinding my teeth as I kept watching my time go red was a 35.715. I want to come back to this one less than than I did the Genesis VGT.

How in the world did you get that time, @djolliea?? The speed you pull from turn 4 to the line is insane. It looks like you hit nitrous as you enter the tri-oval. When you've got Jeddah questioning how you did what you did, that's saying something!

@half_sourly, I'm cool with you not including these results in with the regular TT's. I can already see it killing my average position. The spike I had at Broad Bean was bad enough.

I did the same as you and went -2 on the sensitivity but when I played Forza years ago I always beat my best times on a pad with a wheel on oval tracks, it must be just easier to keep the speed on an oval without dropping it with slight twitching with the pad.

You can carry more speed if you manage to keep the tires locked onto the bottom of the banking and the steering perfectly steady throughout the curve. Requires some precision and a firm grip on the steering wheel. Not sure how one would do that with a controller though.. 🤷‍♂️

Im not questioning 🤣 it is legit, if you make the car float perfectly on right yellow line with right tires without anyyy jerkness from beginning to the end of the corner, the car gets a speed boost somehow. The line is pretty much a hair. So mm to the left or right and it wont work. I only managed to do it couple times in more than 100 laps lol.

And I gotta say this TT toasted my forarms more than any other TT in history xD im so sore right now

Well I finally got a GOLD but I believe it will drop to silver before the night is done, as I was 0.98 in the % and 20,000+ in the global standing.
This should be a good source of info to see how many actually play this figuring I was 20,000+ in the leader board and I had got gold (briefly) I want to see at the end of two weeks what the total of players in leader board will be.

Congratz on being in the top spot, how does that make you feel!? I would love to be in the top 100 someday in any TT. I need to study hard and pay attention to the pros driving lines and braking points/gears. That's if I use the MT.

Weird TT the last one , trying to keep the shortest line with a controller and buttons for steering isn't easy at all.
Am at 90% at gold almost last in my leaderboard 😂 but ill never touch it again unless i have to.

The good part is that many players gold it ,even those that gold at TT's is a luxury mostly for them ( am one of them also ).

The bad part is that he'll stay there for an eternity since everyone gold it so quick .

Late night session, one more round staring at the evil yellow line, and with another improvement.

From 0:35:751 down to 0:35:740 (0,70%)

The game says an optimal lap of mine could possibly be 0:35:716.

I'd like to think my gold is safe.
Fantastic score, my friend, really fantastic (even if I would have prefer you stay with your previous record^^).
I'll try to keep that "thing" as stable as possible to find some new hundredths... 12th would be perfect... :mischievous:

I only gained 0.055 seconds over the course of a 5 hour period... How pathetic is that? I stayed up past midnight in an attempt to beat my brother's 1:04.722, but I just couldn't do it. I tried again last night but after some more failed attempts, I decided that enough was enough. I clearly wasn't going to improve any further.

At least this one was easy.
