I just squeaked into gold on the le mans, mostly because I was off working on GTWS races. But I appear to have turned a corner with a mean streak of golds recently, (too lazy to look it up), including that damn genesis boat at monza. I don't chime in much here, but this thread is largely responsible for teaching me to keep at it until it's done!

Also, did someone at PD let their 8 yr old niece into the office to program this new TT? Spelling mistakes, etc, how embarrassing.

I wonder if PD is trying (on purpose) something different with this TT.

Maybe trying to spark a leaderboard position fight, instead of the regular percentage challenge?

But given how bad PD is at decision making when it comes to game design, I'd say it is not the case. 😂
I think PD have pulled a blinder. Lots more players will get high rewards, the top spots will be down to thousandths of a second.
It's very different to the usual trials, and that's what keeps it interesting.

The oval is my friend now, I think it's gonna earn me an extra 2M instantly!!

Are you sure about that ??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Well, here it is y'all! I still am not quick as much as I wanted to be. I let those walls and obstacles get the best of me. I really don't like the first turn after the pit. I get anxious and brake too early and take a long time to get back on the throttle which costs me some time.

I went from the 5th gear down to the first rather quickly and still ended up not gaining any time. T2-T5 are a pain because I always get the rhythm off somehow no matter how I approach it. It's near the yellow construction looking arrows. I tried to keep the car straight, smooth and not sliding to keep my speed up. I've been getting the hang of the MT.

My exit speed was not good at T7, so how did I do. Was it good, okay, bad, etc? What can I do to improve my time even more in the silver range?

@Evilmuffin what was your replay. You're usually a super-pro. If I had 2 TV's I could compare mine to yours and see what I'm doing wrong.

Idk if you guys are at work, home, or asleep but message me back asap.

Thank you,
Chris30

I love your style, Chris. :D

It's hard to know where to start with the lap, really. As others have said previously, focus on being smooth and the time will come, that's the main thing. Your best laps are your smoothest.

Some other small things I would suggest right away:

  • You never need first gear, don't go there
  • You're a bit too all over the place with gears in general. I know it's new to you, don't be ashamed of sticking to AT if you need. If you do want to stay with MT then practice a bit more to make sure you don't accidentally shift down instead of up
  • Make use of the track limits. You could have been on the power far earlier in both T1 and T7 but you're in the middle of the road, which makes it harder

I don't know if PD are actually doing anything deliberate, but there's something to the theory that doing something like this attracts single-player only players who haven't done a TT before since it's easy credits, and then some of those new players might stick around for future TTs.

You can see in the historical stats that entry numbers jump up and stay up after the really easy Sardegna C Gr.4 TT in January 2023, for instance.

#Daytona

I managed to obtain a decent 35.751 after many attempts and at the cost of a very large effort of concentration to try to keep the "car" at very high speed on the most optimal line possible. It's doable but very challenging with the controller.

My optimal is at 35.748... :ill:

#Sardegna

I need to find some peaceful time to restart with my ballerina Dino, as there's still some tenths on the table... :mischievous:

Well the good thing is I won't need to post a video for Daytona!! There's not many steps needed for gold.
We'll be all very happy for you, Chris.

The gold at Daytona is so easy and I would kindly suggest you to take this opportunity to improve your score and set a personal objective under 35.800. I'm sure you'll learn a lot if you acheive this.

That's an excellent point, and if PD really did it and meant this way, hats off to them.

I had not thought about attracting new TT players. It does make sense.

I'm very happy about my 3rd gold in a row, first time for me.

Gold ground is sloooooooooooooowly eating some silver and bronze one

Hopefully tomorrow engines will restart roaring for me. I need to work on the Dino TT, which is quite challenging to me.
I hope I will get gold quickly in the april fool TT (🤞) and forget about it. I'm not particullary bond in ovals, even less when the component slipstream and racing line selection in traffic is not part of the deal

Hello.......
I'd promised myself I'd go under 4'20" at Le Mans, I came close on Tuesday several times and messed up just as many times and last night, with the work we're doing outside the house, I was too tired and in no condition to attack the stopwatch.......
4310th...too bad.....I should have got round to it earlier because I know I could have done it.....

For the Dino, it's another story......I have a hard time with this kind of behavior, these wiggling cars......qui (pardon the expression: that have to twist their asses to **** straight.......).......pffffff 😃
it's like a "Mission" or a "Permit S"......an out-of-tune car with wooden tires and you have to set a fast time to get the gold.....
or a riddle: the car absolutely won't do it and you have to find a way to make it do it in less than 1' 06" ....🤔🤔😞😠

T1, it's okay, I don't get out as fast as the ghosts, but enough for the gold....

the "S", it took me a while, but I managed to pass them without lifting my foot.....

the long right where you pass in 3, it's one time out of two and then, the "S" right-left, there, it's catastrophic, it's one time out of five....
how many laps wasted there and how much time lost ......

well, I've got 35 seconds to lose, so I'm off to Daytona for a spin.....😂😂
