I hope mine's not gone because I'm at 0'35.810, and I have to go to bed sometime tonight, I can't stay up 20 more hours doing 500 laps there.
Some times you must " Let it go " .
When progress isn't show up ,is better to quit and try another time and even better another day .
Its totally useless to try again and again on the same thing .
Next day will be different and you will be more cool .

You must give your self a chance to " see " it with a fresh look , otherwise you repeat same thing - and same mistakes also - without progress even trying 10 laps or 1000 laps .

At least that's what i do and works just fine ,also you save yourself from a lot stress and anxiety.
Isn't something magic or secret, it's just how things work .

Yahoo! Sneaked just into gold again with 35.804! @Chris30 you are safe for now! 35.818 is the gold time (today!).

I find the wheel shakes a lot when going over rough ground on minimum FFB and sensitivity - I can't switch it off unfortunately.
Going over bumps knocks me out of line.
So what I did just now was increased FFB to 5 (out of 10) and kept sensitivity to minimum(1) and that steadies the wheel which seems to have helped.

But what's going on here?!?! We lapped the very same time not once, but twice! 😂😂😂

What are the odds.... 😂😂😂😂😂
I didn't expected to gain a full hundredth yesterday evening, and very obviously, to not score the exact same time as yours ! Now, we are expecting @KAlex122 to join us :D

But honestly, my laps are still not smooths and clear, my right wheels are still on the right of the yellow line and my lines are still far from consistent. My goal is to be able to lap while having the car stabilized on the smoothest line possible. Then, the improvement will come.
I've also tried the bonnet view: I understand the principe but... nope, nope, and nope :dunce: I must find a visual reference so that my car is correctly placed, while driving with the usual view.

Yesterday, I've also chased @djolliea ghost just on one lap, just as example.
What to say? His car is perfectly stable, he don't move AT ALL, the right wheels are perfectly placed, it's simply impressive and amazing to watch. Fantastic driving lesson!

Turn 4. Man, if you hit it just right, it propels you to the finish line. I had a very so-so turns 1-2 and a poor entrance into turn 3. But I managed to plant my car perfectly on the line when I dropped back down onto the apron midway through turns 3-4. I was stunned as a I watched myself gain over half a tenth alone by the time I got to the line. Just crazy how big of a difference it makes. Sadly, I'm sure I'll be back outside the top 1,000 by the time this is posted (I set the lap 3 hours ago).

Bravo mon ami !!!! 👏👏👏
Bravo for your time with the controller because this TT is not easy with this car and the controller. With the steering wheel, there are so many FF that my arms were like compote. But I love this challenge !!!!
Maybe I'll come back to it but I have to try to go below 1'05 with the Dino (time of 1'05'015) because my friend @Pesselles is too close !!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

My first go with the Dino will be later this evening. Looking forward to the challenge, but I do hope that it is a reasonably easy gold to achieve.
My aim is just to get a safe gold for now. Time dependent, I will return.

That Dino looks like its a handful. My cup of tea! Based on my read through here, I'm going to start with no assists, but I think I will move over to CSA set to strong very early on.

Happy lapping everyone

I can't agree more, with a controller it's doable to gold this TT but what a nightmare to keep the car stable :(

Everything is fine, everything is fine... :dopey:

I need your help with Dino
My lap is far from perfect everywhere, but I have the feeling that the last turn is killing my gold quest.

All other turns are ok, or at least I understood what to do and here and there I do it,
last one, no, no really idea what I should do different. I know the answer is before my eyes, but cannot see it.

Would you be so kind to take a look at my lap?
Thanks

Your first sector is clearly acceptable (28.5 is fine for gold).
Your T7 is also acceptable for gold, no doubt.
And indeed, the last turn kills your gold.

I would suggest you to stay on the left of the track as much as possible before the last turn, to get a wider angle for turning.
This should help you to keep more speed here, and for the final straight line.

Not that bad really :dopey:

Easiest to work on is probably the esses. You lifted there and that 's probably a 2/10s lost. From the bottom aim at the barrier to left, get as close as you dare. Once you are at the barrier, straighten the car and start turning right aiming at the curb. Don't just yank the steering, do it slowly, you should be able to feel the car weight shift from one side to the other. Idealy you will just touch the curb a bit and the car will sorta understeer to the left hand side. Keep the throttle pinned and ready to catch any oversteer at the top of the hill before the next braking point.

Turn 1 - great entry and trail braking. You can go to full gas more quickly; it is quite forgiving.

Esses - Evilmuffin has covered it, but to reiterate, on the left into it, dare to go as close to the wall as possible (accept that you may hit it 1 in 10 times) and stay left a split second longer to give better entry into the right hander - smooth inputs. Being quicker means you'll have to pull to the right very slightly more to avoid the exit wall, but completely doable. But look how much space you have left on that exit at the moment - tons.

Between earlier power in T1 and flat through the esses, you'll be at 28.25 before you know it, maybe better.

Last esses - Entry is good. Maybe aim to straddle the kerb on the left - per snapshot of the ghost below, taken from Kie's guide video. Having a wheel in the sand slows you a bit more and helps you get over to the left, per Pesselle's guidance. It is tricky, but helps with entry to the final right. On that final right, maybe scrub slightly less speed, coast into the right a little more, then when you get onto throttle you'll be slightly more straight and more likely to avoid the traction loss you suffered on your lap.

I'd love to get in the top 1000 at Sard. But I don't know about that yet. :(
I don't see this happening, try to set yourself realistic goals. We are close in the results in many TTs and my best place ever was 13k something, getting to top 1000 is a huge leap from there.

If you are consistent and train regularly on TTs you will progress with time. Maybe at the end of the year you'll be able to reach top 1000, but for now I think it is unrealistic.

Maybe at Daytona which is a very special TT, but not at Sardegna with th Dino which demands a lot of finesse to score a very good lap.

Well I'll do my very best, that's all I can do. Watching videos and ghosts is a step I can take for improving my times and understanding the full track and it's limits. Yeah you're right guys, I doubt that i'll ever be able to get in the top 1000, even 5000. I need to maybe get at least silver for a few times and get gold when I can and just go from there.

Well it's Tidgney to the rescue, gotta pay attention to his Dino walkthrough, he explains everything with detail. That's what I like, depth, cutting to the core.

Had an enjoyable Saturday morning session in the Dino, and improved my old PB by exactly one tenth.

May not be enough yet to secure a top 1000 placement, but it is enough to leave @D-Mind in the rearview mirror for now, so: your move, mate ;)

To my surprise, optimal also dropped significantly to 1:04.712. Which means ...
