Chris, I personally think you should work on individual skills before you worry about top whatever place in the world. You might get really lucky and set a banger lap and find yourself high in placement but until you consistently lap near a time you are looking to get, the basics are what you should concentrate on. Learn trail braking, before you learn MT. Learn how to smoothly induce steering. Find your line using AS MUCH OF THE TRACK AS POSSIBLE. It's hard. It's frustrating. It's worth it. Work on your input control. Go slow smoothly and slowly increase the pace while remaining smooth until there is no more to find.Well I'll do my very best, that's all I can do. Watching videos and ghosts is a step I can take for improving my times and understanding the full track and it's limits. Yeah you're right guys, I doubt that i'll ever be able to get in the top 1000, even 5000. I need to maybe get at least silver for a few times and get gold when I can and just go from there.
Well it's Tidgney to the rescue, gotta pay attention to his Dino walkthrough, he explains everything with detail. That's what I like, depth, cutting to the core.
I'm no alien but I'm pretty quick in many cases. Sometimes just grinding on a time trial puts me farther away. Some of my best times come from really short sessions where I put everything i have into it for a small amount of time while I'm fresh. Try that. Shorter stints. It's much much less frustrating especially when having difficulties.
Being consistent is key. All these cars drive so differently but the basic idea for all of them is very much the same. Smoothness buys you time.
