I felt that I settled for silver with the Dino (with about 0,9 seconds to gold), but had some time to spare the other night so decided to see if I could improve some more. Rather quickly cut my time with 0.4 seconds but couldn’t really get past that.

So desperate measures had to be made.

Based on what I read in this forum, I changed the colour.

To the fastest color known to man (and woman): orange.

Now, with a faster colour, I already felt an improvement coming in the first lap, and after 15 laps I managed to creep into golden territory, with 1.05,782. With an optimum at 1.05,5. Maybe not safe at the moment, but still a small victory for me. And for the colour orange.

Guys, I have a surprise, I have made a huge amount of progress today thanks to using @djolliea's ghost. I'm now sitting at a 1'06.848 with the Dino, here is the video. Watch how smooth I drove in most of the lap. You'll be amazed by watching this one. I still think that last turn is a lap-killer.

You know also I don't have many subscribers as I thought I would. My videos the past 2 years haven't been really that popular. Oops, I probably should have cut that first 1 minute and a half of the video because I made a couple errors and had to restart the session twice.

I am sure there are still some things I could have done to make my lap more smooth and steady. For instance this sharp right turn is costing me a little time.

I think the rest of the lap was fine to me, but tell me what you think. Thanks everyone for the tips. I have to learn from the masters!

Great progression Chris.

A few things got my attention..

T1 try to use the 200 marker as a breakpoint, use this as a visual then you know exactly when to brake.
no lift of throttle before braking but everytime on that 200 board full on braking, that means you get more consistent on T1.

Uphill full send, better to learn your early steering input then always make it by lifting off but try to use as less input as possible, if you got the line right you'll notice that you don't have to steer that much and still grip uphill.

Your righthander was decent mate!.

You can make a lot of time after that right hander.
don't stay in 3th and apply that "Chris-pumping-throttle-action" ;) but just go to 4th.
it will be less nerveous, and you are kind of a nerveous driver so try to eliminate that.
( around the 1:00 minute marker in my lap beneath, you'll see what i mean )

So key here for you imo..

  • Always a fixed brakingpoint T1
  • gearing after the righthander
  • steeringinput smoothness

Great progression Chris!

Like @Ed_Night says, this one is fairly doable on controller :) you can't realy take him as an example because he has German super powers or something...
But my lap above is also on controller, just try be smooth :)
and I'm close to 1:04 on controller, on automatic mode, without super powers, and with a normal livery... :dopey:

What’s your success rate on that T2 “boost”?
Just a matter of luck, more or less. Main "issue" is turning in at the exact perfect moment, when I nail the entrance to the turn, I can keep it steady, but that doesn't happen often :D My optimal yesterday was .523, that would put me in P9 currently, but that lap was not going to happen. Maybe I'll try couple of more times, top 10 was never closer so why not :D

Some of the new ones are already too fast! Can we vote them out? :D

Hey, don't you all laugh at me! Hold your smileys! I even invited newlings onto my list like the turkish guy. If i cite right the first posting was something like "44 years old, married, kid, TTs are perfect for that lifestyle, blabla" (there i thought "hm, sounds just like me, only 10% older") and now he is up there, not even in sight for me in most of my lists! Thats not a Berserker, thats a butcher! Butchering all my times!

Sorry but what did you expect, we all want to see our friends at the bottom of our leaderboard...

Boh, got a 35.616 with the Chaparral 2X, placing me around 450th or something last night, good enough that it doesn’t kill my average but that’s it. Can’t take this one seriously, an absolute joke of a time trial. Now over to something that makes sense and where skill is a factor, the Dino.

Some advice from some former famous German soccer player.

Unlike real racing with a child you ride faster! You spend more time at home it makes sense 😅

When a new update arrives with new cars, it is kind of expected to have these cars being used in the new menus or TTs.
ah, it is just a prediction, since Kaz published it will come in next update, on Thursday, and Suzuka, next F1 race is in Suzuka and sometimes real races and TTs match in time.
Haaaaahaa Ok, i hadn't heard of Update 1.44, Hence the talk of Urus !
