Gave Suzuka a quick 126km last night to see what all the fuss was about with this car. This car is terrible to drive although I didn't struggle as much as I was expecting. I found the turn in to be really inconsistent which proved tricky on the more high speed corners as well as the entire first sector. The mid corner performance was quite understeery and it was a struggle to rotate the car towards the exit, particularly through the end of T1, middle of T5 and the exit of Spoon curve. Corner exit was quite well balanced as long as 3rd gear was used in the slower corners and 4th everywhere else. My strategy for the infamous 130R was to release the DRS between the 100m and 50m boards, dab the brakes before the 50m marker in a straight line, and then power through the corner, leaving it in 6th gear. This is definitely not the fastest way through the corner but it was consistent.

I think I could get into the 38s with some more effort but that will depend on what the next trial is and if the gold time improves (which I hope it doesn't).

Don't think I'll get to give the TS020 another go around Fuji before that ends unfortunately, so my time will have to remain as it is for that trial which is a shame.

I'm definitely worried about keeping my gold streak alive. :nervous: I haven't had a struggle like this since Lake Louise. I've dipped into the 39's, but just. Reckon another 3 tenths minimum are still needed. On the plus side, at least 130R isn't an issue for me anymore?
OH great, you're struggling here too?

I'm gonna be SWEATING for gold tomorrow night.
Man. I worked hard for that barely gold. It's going to take some time and some biofeeeze to get me there again. 😭
And you fell out of gold?!

This TT is MADNESS!

Well... after a bit of skiing in the alps on the weekend (quite weird at 20°C at 2000m), I managed to put like 8 laps in yesterday.
First things first... driving 3 laps and having to start again sucks, if we could at least still have a live delta and the sector delta to the previous try....
Got to a 1:41:3 or so, coming to the mid 40s is just a thing of not spinning out, but gaining the last second to gold is gonna be a tough one. Not sure if I'm gonna make it since I'm quite busy this week.

Hello first time posting. I struggle a lot with Suzuka one. Got gold for the moment, you guys think the cutoff wil be sharper?
Welcome to GTPlanet, golding Suzuka is a good thing cause it's not the easiest one we got until now  , great job!

It's def a struggle on the pad mate, just not the one for us, i can't see the times doing a major drop cause that lap was insane.
But you never know with these guys.
Keep hammering mate, you got this, if i can do it, you certainly can.
Like i posted above somwhere, i ran a 45.750 on S2 just before the hairpin and ran a 39.328 in the end, if your split is faster or the same you know where to find that time :):)

You got this!

Really happy with this lap. :D

It's insane how smooth you always are mate, you make us look sooo bad :lol:
Great job again and thanks again for helping us out like you always do.

Whenever I discover something outside the box I hide it. I get annoyed when I get copied in 1 minute when I spend hours discovering stuff. If you were in my shoes you would understand 😅. If the lap has nothing to hide i dont.
Well, I'm just glad the other people that share the same shoes don't hide their laptimes because, imo, it's a pillar of the community. Specially when there's almost nothing to gain.

You will get there, it is a difficult one on controller for sure and it takes longer time. I had same worries from start as you but now after few sessions I am confident I can reach 1:38 too, and If I can do it you can do it too. IDK if my settings can help you, but if you want to try : sensitivity 10 and then two under for force feedback, first 1, and last 10, that helped me to turn in fast enough. try to DRS ALL they way from spoon to 130R if possible, having slight steering input don't activate DRS so pay attention to that, it can give a one -two tenth only on that straight, and lastly, if you think sharing lap and we giving opinions might help you, go ahead :)
Really happy with this lap. :D

You certainly should be, that was well executed, smooth and fast!

I agree. Top level times are in a whole other dimension and those "secrets" doesn't change or mean anything for human beings:D
If i would clock a P1 due to something i found out something which made me faster, hell nahh i'm sharing that!
Maby is different for the select group of always hanging in the top 10 , but i would guard it with my life :lol:

Oh wow that was unexpected - sneaked into silver at Fuji by a couple of hundredths.... knocked over a second off my previous best! I must have got one of the corners about right! 🤣 But at 4.96% off I'm not sure it will hold.

Still not even bronze at Suzuka but haven't tried for a couple of days - need to be in the right frame of mind for that one!

The community aspect here is great and important but i get it when the top guys try to keep their secrets. It's something else entirely.

Knowing the path and walking the path are two whole different things at least with my skills 😄

I mean the whole point is to do your best at these but at the tippity top it's more than just doing your best... it's doing THE best and those are different things. I respect that one might not share a lap with a learned thing that puts you at the pinnacle. There are plenty of other ghosts out there that'll get you close, plus the skills to execute anything out of the box are usually the things that separate the aliens from us normies anyway. I don't think it's crappy not to share a lap. But I sure do appreciate those who do.

Chasing a ghost is also what i usually do. But in Fuji, it somehow distracted me and i drove faster times without a ghost.

After 2 days doing the Super Formula race in Fuji i thought i give the Toyota TT another try. Didn't started well, because i was too used to the SF with it's insane traction. I needed to refind all my breaking and turn in points.
My best time so far was a 1:33:90. That was without driver aids, only TC set to 1. I know this is a shame, but i activated stability and counter steer help.
After 15 laps i managed a 1:33:50 ( so close!) followed by more than 10 invalidated laps.
But then, out of nowhere that happend:

I immediatly left the TT and will never touch it again, even if this doesn't last for gold!

First laps at Suzuka. Barely into gold territory which won't hold for sure. Damn, McLaren says they designed this "vehicle" with the vision of racing by 2030s

I feel lucky I've watched real racing in Senna-Prost, Hakkinen-Shoemaker:D eras

I'm not sure its my first priority at the moment but I can't activate DRS in my CSL Elite P1 V2 wheel since there seems no support for this wheel and no drs button to be asigned in the game. Any help would much be appreciated.

High 38s seems to be reachable but next tt will certainly affect my grind time with this hate machine. I thought Fuji was unbearable:)

Happy lapping folks🤙

While I understand the need to hide some specific find for top players, I do think that it is PD fault that there is an option to hide the replay anyway.

If you do a lap that is top 10 worthy, your lap should be open to view by everyone or your time is not counted in the standings.
If you're that fast - live with it or do it privately in closed TT session.

I think @Tidgney is a very good example here. I like his smile as you know, but also his attitude.
He always uploads his replays (and once said in a video that every top driver should do this - I hope I remember correctly).
He hasn't become any slower or worse in ranking as a result.
Presumably because the other top drivers benefit much less from these replays than us mere mortals.
But with his uploads he ensures that we can improve and continue to have fun at the TTs. That's the only way to keep them interesting and keep the drivers involved in TT's.

What's the point of Jeddah being first if there's no second anymore?

Cheers
Martin

I don't have problems with people taking their decision about if/what/how share stuff. The game is not designed to force something, nor this forum request it as mandatory.

And I really don't see a difference between someone in the 2, 101, 10001 spot of the leaderboard arguing that without a replay spot 1, 100 or 10000 shoud be under discussion.

This community if full of different personas, everyone is free to do whatever with the bottom line of respecting others.

I am grateful of being here and value a lot every single time (and there are many) I have been helped, encouraged, supported.
Will I stay here if all of these would not be there? I don't really know, but for sure I don't take them for granted.
