I did 1:01.3 with TC 1. ;)
Yeah, forgot to mention, I did my 1:00.353 with TC1 and could have done a 1:00.161... It's certainly quicker to go with TC0 but I just don't have the patience and I get so annoyed when spinning that I just give up and turn the TC to 1, and still have the gold time (for now).

Edit: what I found out last night when I had the endless session is that it was better for me to NOT retry any laps. Just drive, even if you make a horrible mistake in turn 1 or 2, just finish the lap strong, even if you get the penalty, doesn't matter, it's the only way you will practice the whole lap and actually is very useful to have the time delta always present, to see where you can improve and what are you doing wrong compared to your best lap. Yes it's a bit more time consuming since you will have many many laps that are like 1:15 or something, but that was the way for me to get my best time last night.

Gallo just did a 58.602. Gold is now 1:00.360.
Gold proportion was at 3.6% on Saturday; now down to 2%.

This is now firmly the second most difficult TT to date for gold and silver, the worst for getting no reward (by a long way) and the biggest gap between the alien aliens at the front and the normal aliens at 100.

9 days to go though.

This is simply not for me... currently at 02:2X
I'm 10-20Kmh slower everywhere. Cannot even choose a turn to focus on to get started because I'm not consistent.

T1 can manage without errors only if a lift a bit, otherwise it's just a shot in the dark
T2 they probably change it once I go through it, because the next time I pass there it's different
T5,6 I'm ok but slow
T7 still cannot nail regulary the racing line
T10 probably the best turn for me, but even there too slow

Everything happens too fast for my old brain. Clean laps are probably in the 1:05, trying harder just lead to errors, miskues, penaly and frustration jumps in quite quicky

The shocker here is the bronze. This highlights one of my main complaints about this game and who makes it. “Driving is for everyone” yea, until you make a community event where half of “everyone” can’t do it lol. Happy holidays from PD

I think this is PD making sure we turn off our consoles and go spend time with friends and family. Very effective so far - I love the time trials but I'll be at the pub the next few nights instead. 😂

The thing that makes this more frustrating than anything else is how horrendous the track limits are. Like, these people are virtually not even on the track and it's ok, then the very next turn it's like, oh you're a pixel off? .5 second penalty.
If this time trail was about staying on the track and actually racing road atlanta, people would be far less frustrated with it. I'm not talking about cutting a corner or rolling up on the curve, that's just road atlanta, I'm talking about full on nearly going off the track. Daily races on this track must be an absolute joke. They need to put up a giant penalty wall on the last corner of the Esses.

Managed a 1:01.39, still on auto trans, TCS 2. I'm fairly firm into silver. I was silver yesterday and got knocked out.
I feel I have to respect the level of skill they have where they can lap so consistently that they can actually experiment with track limits AND keep control whilst driving on the grass.

Funnily enough, the Suzuka TT I found rather easy and enjoyable. I was able to comfortably set a gold time, and ended up almost 1.5s ahead of the gold cutoff, and 81st globally.

This TT though? I'm currently not even a tenth inside the gold time and probably somewhere around 900th globally...

I'd much rather double-shift and deal with predictable wheelspin in a torquey, peaky '80s turbo F1 car, than blindly aim the equivalent of a futuristic F1 car at a high speed corner that I can't actually see until it's way too late, and try to contain the unpredictable wheelspin of a car that readily loses the back end despite having less torque than a toddler on a tricycle...

Similar here. I wasn't as high up at Suzuka as you - I was 793rd and 0.3 sec inside gold - but found that easier; or maybe just more fun. This TT relies on very quick reflexes and my old eyes and hands take a good few laps to adjust to the mad speed.

The SuperFormula at Fuji left worst scars that this current TT though; trying to keep grip around 100R and failing 8 times out of 10.

What is your current time if I may ask?

And it's down again! BAH. And Gallo will surely go again. Maybe I'll just wait until these two are done with their little spat before even trying again?!

0:58.542 - Gold = 1:00.298

My fastest lap is still in... but lesser every day and too close for comfort.

This one is tough but I don't mind it. Usually at this point I'm well within gold enough I don't bother. Honestly, the only thing keeping me interested in GT7 at the moment.

Got both accounts back into gold, but just barely. Both are 1:00.2X 1:00.1X so not sure if they'll hold. If you asked me two days ago I'd have bet a six-pack on it... but now not so sure.

This is why you can't throw it in, you can't get the same yaw rate because there's a translation process between stick input and steering input in game. You've got to wait for the steering. I'm actually quick enough through that last sector (15.6-15.7) to make the laptime work.

I don't know if the motion sensing mode is any better in this respect.
I am on motion sensor steering (tilt to steer) and I think it's even more noticeable that motion steering struggle more the faster the car and sharper corners combo. I'm entering turn 3 in video under and recorded video, then zoomed in and slow down video in order to show how it behaves, twitchy, jerky, just watch the red ball on display that shows steering angle how it jumps like crazy. I wish i filmed my hands holding controller at same time, but they are pretty much at stable movement and steering angle.

I'm not getting even Bronze in this WTF, i know you should not brake in the first turn and that helped me massively, any other tip to gain 0.4 sec ?

If you could record a video of your lap it’s easier for us to help. Have you also looked at some of the ghost replays?

I think this is the hardest thing I ever had to do in any game, let alone Gran Turismo. One million attempts, finally get gold, time gets destroyed. Two million attempts, improve by two tenths, get gold, time gets destroyed. Three million attempts, improve by a tenth, get gold. Now we wait :D

I'll share this here in case it helps anybody on a pad, it looks like you have to focus on the exits a lot more than the top leaderboard times (who are able to get double the steering angle), driving on the grass doesn't seem to work either.

I'm hoping that's me done but I can see the time coming down further since none of the top players from Monaco are up at the top yet. If the physics change on Thursday I'll be here with popcorn 👌
