Tsukuba is a tricky little track and doing a lot of laps around it is more tiring than it should be. I tried all sorts of lines and techniques because time is hard to find on such a short lap. The low grip and low torque at the bottom end of the rev range means that the car is quite picky when it comes to shifting gears and cornering. The ideal operating window so to speak is small and if you're out of it, you will lose time. I could go a little faster if I get everything right, but getting within 1.29% is still pretty good for me.

I give you... Nordschleife GOLD TIME! (provisional)

That moment called for some shots!
Done it my old fashioned butchery way, with automatic transmission, so it's entirely possible.
Optimal dropped to mid 40s, so I'll see if learning MT here (never driven Nordschleife with MT before) can get me more margin.

"Tap the breaks and turn in" - that allowed me to gain a lot of time in few places here, so thanks Mr Muffin!

I'm really happy about it, after golding Le Mans with Bugatti earlier this year I hoped to break the non-gold results at this iconic track and I did! (hopefully it will stay yellow)
Bravo mon ami !!!! 👏👏👏👏💪💪💪🍾🍾
I still can't do it and I'm stuck at 7'48'5xx ....😭😭😭😭😪😪

Thanks for the pressure 😆
I would have to figure out where I loose significantly time. At this part my lazy part won 😳

So I stopped this TT yesterday and went over to take cars I like to the Nord for one lap 🤭

But as I respect you as a friend I and there is still some 🔥 I will come back for another try when family gives me a chance to.

Would you be so kind to share your lap? Then I would check if and where I can improve.

Thanks
Martin

Will do. Im not home at the moment. Should be back later this evening.

You can gain significant time by braking a little earlier, turn in, let it roll through some of the corners and then get on the power.
This has helped me drop my time.
Also used CSA and TC1 through some corners.

Goodluck mate. Will let you know when lap is shared.

After a few days of hiatus from TT'ing the Nordschleife I resumed chipping away on my PB last night, resulting in another tenth dropped. Improving pace and consistency in the first half of the track leaves me pretty confident of dropping a 37 sooner or later :)

Almost had it on the second lap of the quickest stint, but messed at the end of lap 2, as I was getting nervous and started losing focus. It's a bit frustrating having only very few clean laps after warming up with several slow or invalidated ones, then suddenly noticinga delta of 6/10 on my new PB from lap 1 just to lose it all at Galgenkopf :ouch: Tried to carry the previous momentum from the first 1.5 laps intoa third, but my focus was gone by then and I decided to lay down the controller to try another time. Hope I reach the 37 before time runs out on Thursday.

And this probably needs an oil change and a car wash (in hindsight, I should also paint the license plates dirty).

So is there enough interest in this for us to run it? And is the method here (using average gtp scoreboard position for the best 8 of 10 TTs) the one to use? Is so we can start with TT80 as a new 'season' and I'll report on it along with the usual Thursday end-of-TT updates.

I definitely like it! Maybe one suggestion though: There are quite a few players with only one or two TTs in the selected time frame. I understand that not everyone has the time to participate in each event, so disqualifying them would be a bit harsh, but maybe assign a (sub?) average score for each missed TT as a penalty? Otherwise it's too easy to just pick TTs that you're good at.

Edit: oh yeah, and please start with TT 81 instead. Jk 😜

We could do a minimum say 4 TT to qualify for entry.
With my rubbish status at the 'Ring, I'd love to start at 81 too!

All after the Mclaren Suzuka TT is fine by me 🤣🤣, I am fine with all formats as long as it keeps the competition alive 😁🫡👍

Okay, here's the last improvement of 1 second again at 7'46'561. I think this will be the last on this hellish Nurburgring

... Repeating more or less lap times times between 46.5 and and 48 I totally agree, finally hand in my 7:46 being grateful to learn about dancing with Carreras and and further on respectful with this exciting track

Enjoy your Sunday TT community 😎

This morning I only did some Tsukuba and I must say it's growing on me a little, still no love....but growing a tiny bit 🤣🤣

I was on to something..... was steady in the .4xx and 5xx with a fastest of 379 but did binn a few very promising laps what should get me deep in the .2xx's ....

But one of my furry bastards had other plans... while hotlapping he came by walking with his front paws.... with spreaded back legs.... making a code brown stripe .....but, with a purple ribbon hanging out from the back ....🙈🙈, turned out he ate some during the night 🙈🤣 so had to perform some semi surgery 🤣🤣

My focus was kind of gone 🤣🤣

I know this is very specific track that's not to everyone's liking. I myself have troubled history with it (despite liking it a lot), never being able to gold it in GT7 (and a shameful bronze with the NSX where I just surrendered). But...

I know you're capable of reaching the gold time on it, Jerome. Your recent form and results are proofs of it.
The easiness of invalidating laptime might be a bit discouraging, but I believe that continuous series of laps is the way to go. When invalidated, just use the rest of the lap to test your lines of other corners and put it to use on the next lap.

I did stints of around 9-10 laps that last over an hour - it's long enough to find your rhythm and not too long to feel tired or drained. On those stints only like 2 laps were valid, but those were the laps where I improved. Here's how it looked like for me:

I know your work schedule is not on your side now, but it's so close. I know you can do it!
I've shared my replay with tags of #gtptt #tmtk #titans if you want to look at it, maybe you'll see something useful. That's a pointer for @MUC76, too.

cheers,

Leszek.

Thank you very much my friend Leszek for your encouragement and your kind words.
But I can't stand this circuit anymore. There are circuits where I don't see much progress. And this Nurburgring is one of them. It doesn't matter if I don't get the gold medal. That's not the most important thing. I'm not the type to give up but frankly I can't take it anymore.
Thanks again for everything my friend and I am really proud and happy for you that you managed to get the gold medal after so many tries. Well done.👏👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪. Take care my friend

Little improvement in Tsukuba at 1'11'683 with optimal time at 1'11'603

Whittling away. I need another week. 😂 I really suck at the ring. This car is a ton of fun though. SS tires would have made this one for the ages! I'm hoping I'll get that lucky one in but it isn't looking good. That was literally my second valid lap. I push far too hard. 🤯

This is my lap, the car was very good and fun to drive, some weird behavior (understeer-oversteer and vice versa).
Too bad I made some mistakes in 4-5 corners and in the Ring when you go a little wide in a corner you ruin the next 3 but here make a perfect lap is almost impossible, at least for me, but with a clean lap without big mistakes I can reach high 35 but I don't want to make any more attempts to go down 1 or 2 tenths.
