Finally got in on the new TT on day 1 and thankfully grabbed an early gold.

Never felt fast here but I have been improving at this track by not avoiding it. I can see another second if I could only get it to come together and it just might since I started early.
Good luck to everyone and see no red 🤣

Hello everyone, I am back from a 7-day stay in the Emergency Room, I was taken there May 28th around 4pm. I had a blood vessel rupture on my left ankle, it stung, burned and itched a lot. The nurses and doctors took good care of me, they gave me antibiotics. I have had to be on a strict schedule this past 9 days, I will be back this weekend. Tomorrow is my last day, hooray.

I have truly missed gt7, so what's been going on lately? I had a rough time in the ER, I've lost quite a bit of sleep. I am so glad to be back home and on my cozy couch.

What is the new TT now, I haven't even looked yet.
That is serious buissines Chris, hope you are doing well now.

New TT is a handfull Chris, the Mclaren F1 is no joke here but it's fun to drive, little edgy tho  ( without TCS )

Did my first morning session on the bigscreen and i must say Virage is a lot easier with more pixels

:lol:, but it was "binning" morning, i lost some respectable laps on the last sectors... Porsche curves and last chicane-chain where killing me everytime.... plus the Tracklimits here are not communicating with my brains
I had so many invalidated laps and had no idea why..., seems inconsistent but it isn't ofcours..

Best run i had was a 40.0, descent at 1.59%..... but only barely top 400 🤔
I will try now and then but this ain't going to be the grind for me, just not my track so more sleep for me and fishing time :lol::lol:

But love the car! ( in Historic Orange ofcours  )

Thank you man, yeah I had a serious situation that came up unexpectedly last week. It was urgent.
Good to have news from you, get well and see you soon on here 😊

If you're interested, you can install the script really comfortably from here: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/497244-gtplanet-tt-assistant. Prerequisite is a browser plugin like tampermonkey or greasemonkey (I use tampermonkey) that can run these kinds of user scripts. The site will automatically link you to them if necessary, the installation is just a one-click affair. That is, if you're on a PC or Mac. Mobile devices work as well, but it is not as straight-forward.
Wasn't working for me until I activated developer mode in my chrome extensions management screen. (Tapermonkey told me to do so in order for userscripts to function).

That plugin is genius !

Glad it was of help! I've been on for Rank 1 twice tonight. Ended up on an invalid 36.7 after clipping the wall on porsche curves. Very next lap I was 2 tenths up before the porsche curves, gained another 2 tenths then my car decided to spear left on the chicane 😭 😭
Notes for you from The Upside Down world:
watch out for my video about "Don't Get a QUICK 2 MILLION Credits with this LEGENDARY Car... || Time Trial Guide - Week 23 2024", it will explain exactly what not to do to if you want to scratch off some precious time to get the overall lead!

Back seriously:
haven't see your video yet. My routine is try myself first to taste on my skin the issues I'm having and then watch it. I find this process way more effective than whatcing the video in first instance.
But I already know that it always delivers!!!
Thanks for being so constant and competent in sharing these to us

In other news, here's a little something I've been dabbling with recently. Mostly just to scratch my programming itch, but I like the result enough that I thought I'd share it with you: it's (another) browser script similar to the one I told you about in my very first post here.

That other one hooked into the gran-tourismo.com event pages to provide these at-a-glance participation infos I post from time to time, whereas this new one is for gtplanet.net itself. It works exclusively in this and the TT results thread and enhances the user info of each post with the stats of that user wrt the currently running TTs. It looks like this:

View attachment 1362668

The color obviously represents the gold / silver / bronze / none tier, other data is the time, percent deviation from the world record and current worldwide leaderboard rank.

The data is not real-time, but updated around every two hours. If you hover over one of the widgets, it will tell you when (and also the name of the event). The link leads to the event page on gran-tourismo.com.

Mobile devices work as well, but it is not as straight-forward.

Unlike the other plugin, this one relies on some small backend service I operate myself, and there's no guarantee that it's always available. But when it's not, the script will simply not work and gtplanet looks like it always has. The data the service collects is only what's publicly available via gran-tourismo.com anyway, just aggregated in a different form. Nevertheless, if you don't want to be "exposed" that way on the board, just reach out to me and I can of course remove you, no problem. Likewise, if you want to be added, reach out to me as well. I've done this for most regular posters and will continue to close the gaps, but adding someone is a manual process. Finally, if you have feedback or ideas how to enhance this, let me know as well.
Nice work, thank you. Installed.

Wellcome back Chris, perfect timing to hit the road at LeMans
See you there!

Well I failed at the 'Ring to get gold and I now predict I will fail to get Gold at Le Mans as well. I don't do well on long tracks and tend to forget the turns. Le Mans has a lot less than the Nordschleife though so perhaps I won't get so mad? Nope, that's not going to happen as I invalidate the lap on the last chicane... That last section in my kyptonite.
I feel you on this one, my weakness at Le Mans is Virage Porsche through to the last chicane (which I'm OK with). I can never quite figure out when to get on the throttle correctly.

It's great to return with a strong comeback. They gave me 5 more units of blood and ran all my levels and they are fine now. My leg looks better. I won't rush on the Le Mans TT as I'm not an expert there. I haven't even downloaded the recent update yet, I gotta do it tomorrow sometime.

I tell you that was the longest week ever being away from gt7 and not time trialing. So, I got 2 more bronzes, from the Brands Hatch and the Nords ones from this past 2 weeks.

It’s great to hear you are back Chris! People come and go on public forums but you are a valued member of the community so there were quite a few of us who were a bit worried when you stopped posting! Glad you are on the road to recovery, take it easy and hopefully you’ll be setting some scorching lap times soon! 😎

I'm definitely not good at that section. Had my first real session yesterday and I'm at 3.6% off leader so still silver. One lap I was about 3 seconds up which would have put me into gold and managed to nail the Virage Porsche to Corvette section and then what did I do? I power oversteered coming out of Dunlop Chicane and spun it just yards from the finish line. 🤦‍♂️

Hi everybody! I have a question regarding the Time Trial rankings: How is it possible to share my replay in the rankings for other users there?
From time to time I find it useful to have a user ghost in the range of my target time (no alien territory ) - But as these are sometimes hard to find I want to give others a no alien ghost to hunt...
Thanks in advance!
Aloha & cheerio from Germany

Your issue is about to find "slower" replays or sharing yours ?

To find replays, I hop in the car and go to the showcase, browse inside "Shared content" and select Replays, tick the checkbox that reads 'with current car' (or something like that, my UI is not in english) and it will show latest replays (you can filter more if needed) with time displayed nearly each time (some replays do not display time, not sure why). Then you add it to your collection and they become available in ghost options.

Hi and thanks for your reply. I want that others can find my replay in the rankings (indicated by the little "play" symbol...)
I.e. most of the Top10 guys share their replays there for easy use...

That's not how it works though.

From my understanding, the top 50 or so at the beginning of the time trial have their replays shared automatically, and any laps at the very top afterwards.

Ok, that would explain ...
A) why I found no way to share my replays there and
B) why it's not easy to find ghosts in my range (mostly about 2-4÷ behind the best time).
I would love if it would be possible for anybody though...
Thank you for your reply!

Did a 3:41.3 yesterday and I thought there was a bit of margin left, so I tried again today…

First lap was a 3:40.4, then did a slightly better one that got invalidated at Karting and then finally put a (mostly) clean lap together for a 3:39.3.

I probably left 1.5 tenths on the table or so in the final sector, but still pretty hsppy with that effort. I‘m normally not a huge fan of the GTR, but the RM tyres really make a world of difference. Being less than 2% off the outright fastest time is a pretty damn good result for me – let‘s see if it holds.
