I Use this configuration on dualsense.
Just need to keep your right thumb over the square and X buttons.
Same here, but on controller my wife is faster than me 🤫
Had wait today until she did the weeklies, but then I could do another session with a small improvement 😉

Bro! So just so we are clear, we are competing against a guy who goes wheel to wheel with some of the fastest GT7 racers on the planet!? Insane 🤯 great clean racing too, I would have shunted Steve off the track if he had done that to me (no wait, I wouldn’t have been quick enough to be ahead of him in the first place hahah)
The only take-away I have from this whole thing is that you are competing with someone that makes their living off of playing this game! You should be super proud of swimming in that pool!

Thanks guys, everyone here's too nice and even the video comments didn't rinse me too hard.

The way I see it is that I didn't even used to feature in these lobbies before (B rated driver in GT Sport) then when I reached A and occasionally did, it was a novalty and I was basically an extra on a film set, perhaps being seen on the timing board at the start or around pitstops.

But recently since reaching A+ i've been regularly in these brutal lobbies and learned a lot, it's easy to be disheartened driving around in 12th feeling miles off the pace but here I was able to keep a ~2s gap to one of the fastest drivers for 4 laps until I made a little mistake at Indianapolis leading to that move.

Sorry for the off-topic story time but I'm generally pleased with the trajectory over the last 4 months, another 4 months of development and I'll give Steve one back. ;)

speaking about downshifting: I understand that shifting properly may make some difference, but what are the rules/focus points that actually generate this difference?

My (poor and not-acknoledge) are:
try to be rithmic trowing down gears
with specific cars (i.e. the Dino couple of weeks ago) leave some additional time between start of braking and start of shifting
try to do the final shift just after starting to rotate the wheel

Do they make sense of are complete crap?
Thanks

Let's make one thing clear here. GT7 is a fantastic game. But it is in no way close to an accurate sim. Not even close!

In order to achieve alien times you see on the leaderboard or to be fast in general, you need to bw able downshift into second or first gear using the engine braking to slow down and rotate the car. Downshifting into lower gears while going over 260kph!

In the real world there's absolutely ZERO chance of you doing this or you will find your self detonating your engine with bent valves and locked wheels straight into the wall.

Asseto corsa or I racing is far closer to the real world experience. Especially when it comes to gears and engine braking.

I mean, ok? Who reallly cares? I don't think anyone was saying anything about how realistic or not it is.

Impressive times everyone, I see a good portion of you folks have joined the silver and gold club at Barcelona. I only looked at the two recent pages from these past 2 days. I'll try to get there too but it will probably take me at least a week to pull it off. Are there any good famous drivers where I can learn the tricks of using the manual transmission? I'd like to learn every aspect of it if I can. Honestly the AT is not helping me save time.

@P-Courty My attempt at a sideways bronze. I am last on my friends leader board :D
Didn't spend too much time on this. It is fun though to drift against the clock.
The sports mediums have way too much grip for decent drifting.

Apologies for the potato quality upload.

Wow! Great driving and awesome Transitions through the chicanes! You did it!!! 💪

I really wasn't expecting to lop off enough time today to get into the 1:50's. It could have been better, but I lost probably a tenth by being overly timid for turn 5 and braking too early. I'm pretty happy with the lap, though.

Well done mate!, this going to be another hunt for a top 100 maby 😁🤪
No laps for me this morning, I was still drewling the pillow at 6 AM 🤣🤣
Maby tomorrow then 🤣🤣

That chicane was beautiful, great lap.

Watching that and the speed you were going, I am now thinking this may be pretty hard to do 😂

Brilliant to watch.

@Gorefast @LSFDRX guess it's our turn now

Thanks! Should attempt it as well. It's something different drifting against the clock. Whenever we have a drift capable machine, I will definitely be trying it this way first.

Thanks! It's not that difficult, should take you a few laps.
I know your replay will be epic!

Great job!
The way you sideways-guys control the car is very impressive 🤗

Thanks Muc! You should get into drifting. It's good fun and very satisfying 😌

OK champions, have a question to hear your feedback. I am ok with my time on Catalunya with AMG, it is 1:51.3** currently, so it's not bad time but I do have one two tenth in me which I have hard time to nail. And I am wondering is it because I am on gyro and have hard time for very smooth inputs, or you who are on wheel or sticks on controller 🎮 find it also tricky to balance between acceleration, input and losing it so it starts drifting and -0.1 deltas are changing into +0.2 easily?
Please if you are replying on my question, state if you are on wheel or controller and if you use any assists?

I'm about 2 full seconds off your pace so I have nothing to contribute that really means anything lol. But, in a purely theoretical sense I just find it hard to believe the gyro steering could be as precise and manageable as either the analog stick or (and especially) a wheel. I think it's pretty amazing you can get a time like that in the first place, and I could totally imagine that gyro might account for where those last few tenths are hiding...I suspect I'd be a second or 2 off even my own slower pace.

:)

Like and Subscribe was a joke mate, I mean you can subscribe if you want of course but I am not some "YouTuber" it was just to show some of my times on Gyro as an answer on your thoughts about Gyro

It is not just you nor it is the gyro input...it is very hard to balance the car when powering out the corner. There is barely any transission between grip and oversteer.

wheels and no assist btw

Hi,

This Mercedes is horrible to race IMHO! The only way I can make this infernal thing work for me is by using TC1. Got it into a low 1:52:3xx now which is, currently, 2.74%. Still a full second behind my arch enemy! (Only joking mate!!!)

Plenty of time left to try and scrape a 1:51:xxx and even try TC0 😳

Happy lapping folks!

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

EDIT:

@Gogga....

Wow! Nice one. I suppose these are going to make you even quicker now too!

@330_D....

Yep! You are indeed a bad influence. I doubt Gogga and I will be complaing though.

Had to run and look whether mine are still there. Also with the performance kit or whatever it is called... The clutch could be firmer but I still like those. Have fun!

I went to the track and tried a lot to get that Bronze sideways. Honestly there was no way I could get a whole lap done. Some single corners might give cool photos but I have to quit and my admirance for your drifting has doubled. 🤙 Now I will try to get faster, straight and more often on the track... 🙄

Hi Champ,

I must say that it's a tricky one, and very frustrating that even the most tiny throttle input on controller results in oversteer, and its a little to much imo....makes it very difficult to manage so I feel your pain 🤣
And is probably just as bad on motionsteering...
For me personally....I'm at a low 51.0 after the first stint but immediately noticed there are a few tenths in it but haven't had the chance to go back.

We will see where it ends 😁

This combo is really growing on me!!

Timeclock stopped at 51.2xxx after a lot of tries. Wheel with no assists. 50.xxx should be doable but smoooothh inputs and patience are indeed the difference makers.
