Actually when I played GT6 back in the day, I used the X for throttle and Square for braking... and that was the setup I used throughout my entire playthrough.I can't remember which aliens they are but there on some on this very forum that do use those setups, it amazes me how they can drive like that, especially with D-pad for steering
I'm reasonably sure this is no longer the case since the PS4. It was an extremely rarely used feature and there was no reason to keep it.The X button (and Square as well) are pressure-sensitive buttons, so that means you can actually use them pretty much in the same way as those trigger buttons like R2/L2, but the later are infinitely easier to control.
I've found variation in how well I pull away from slow corners based on apex speed. I know that is a " no s... Sherlock" statement but because I exit many in 3rd, copying Chafe, it is initially low in the revs and in the Nissan having just slightly more apex speed and therefore being slightly higher in revs can make a big difference in how well you exit. I focused on not over braking; started braking earlier and coast to and through the apex.I’ve tried 2nd at 50-75% then short shifting up to 3rd. I’ve tried double shifting straight into 3rd and pulling from low revs. None of which seems to be advantageous over the other.
I’m done over 500km trying to figure this out. What’s the trick?
Ha. In cockpit there is no speed gauge! But the rev counter is very good and you can time the shifts with precision (if your reflexes are good enough - mine not always). For the Nissan the sweet spot seems to be in mph 105, 150 and 194. For the last two be careful because one mph more and you run into the limiter.

With only 4 days in, I think it's save to say that the top split will definitely find extra time, I would go again if I were you 😁😁After narrowly getting gold on the snow rally stage by +2.99%, I've spent far longer than i care to admit to once again edge this out with a 3:29.202 (+2.94%). Praying the aliens cant find more than a tenth from here 🙏View attachment 1404172
Yeah ,im on manual for a good few months now🙂Hi mate. When I joined this TT thread I was reaching P 20 000 as best. Got very useful advices from skilled people here during TTs and trying to put those advices in practice made me reach much better times. My first (valid) lap on current Gr. 1 TT I reached P120something and I think I am P150-ish currently, with still almost a second to improve if I get time to put some effort and nail all sectors in one and same lap. What I want to say, this thread is THE best coach/advisor/community you can get to improve in TTs. If you want I will gladly look into your lap and give advices how to get faster times. We can start by improving Mulsanne straight first if you want, a lot of time to gain/lose there.
If you want, share your replay in game and I will take a look. You are on manual gearbox right?
I had to run my FFB down but yes it’s still quite the workout holding the wheel straight on the Mulsanne straight. 💪That driver must have a left arm the size of a tree 😯 😂
I agree it in one of the more infuriating parts. Many a lap invalidated there. I’m now taking that corner wide so I’m losing time there.entering ‘Indianapolis’, but I want to throw my controller through my TV every lap at the track limits there as you turn right blindly after the straight
The 962C is even slower than the Sauber in the HunaudièresTried sauber and it went only 327 km/h on the straight, but Nissan hits over 340.Why is there such a big difference ?
So its a massive loss of time on the straights thenThe 962C is even slower than the Sauber in the Hunaudières
Put together a lap but it’s still messy at the chicanes especially. I’m wildly inconsistent so that’s uh, fun. 🫠
Gold is .3 off 🥲
Correct, but it has a more downforce as a function of the ground effects from this era of car, so is very good through the Porsche curves to Maison Blanche. I was carrying nearly 140mph through Karting and was able to overtake the Nissan ghost (drivers time was circa 150th in the world) I was following. While it’s slower down the straight, more speed can be carried through Tetre Rouge so the ghost didn’t overtake me until halfway to the first chicane. So its a massive loss of time on the straights then

With Sauber you loose a lot in the straights and gain a lot elsewhere. So its a massive loss of time on the straights then
