It's a very small detail but don't how PD let it get released this way - the current Subaru car used in the TT doesn't have luminous brake lights. The blinkers & reverse light are bright enough but the brake lights hardly light up. This plays a major role when following a ghost.

And it doesn't have control panel lighted, so it's very hard to see in which gear are you without HUD.
This is even more unusual because lights are on.

I guess the weather plays a role here as well? It works ok for me though ... the Testarossa was really bad in that respect.

Last week I wondered despite the lack of space if I would take the risk of changing chassis. But I didn't want folding frames or a ready-made frame. But rather a homemade chassis. So I decided to take the plunge and place an order with aluxprofile.com for 40*80 black aluminum profile plus brackets and screws... Well, I was right because everything arrived this morning (thanks UPS) in just 4 days from Poland. And there is nothing to complain about: perfect cuts, undamaged profile, and everything else was there. So as I don't have much space I had to adapt the length so no seat but the advantage with the profile is that it can be added later There is just one mistake on my part: I forgot the caches...pffff

🤣 Oh come on, we've all seen that play before: you say something like "there's no way for me to improve here", and then the next morning you pull another half second out of the bag. I know have to stay vigilant 🤣
Well sometimes that is indeed true...🤣
I did indeed had a better banker lap this time by changing my exits to third gear 🤣🤣
Tomorrow morning no lapping for me cause I'm off fishing early 🤣, worst of all....this was on remote 🙈 and next session on the TV will probably get me nowhere is that's always the case..... but ill take this one! 🤣

Still lots of sliding so there should be another tenth or 2 I guess, we will see!

Funny little challenge this one!

I'd love to experience the feeling of hopping into a TT, tossing off half a dozen laps and setting a safe gold time. But for now it's 40 laps, get stuck at 3.25% or so and then another 30 laps of ever-increasing frustration until I decide it's time to shut it down for a mental health break.

Check @Tidgney Lap guide for this TT & also follow his ghost. Start afresh when using his suggestions & ghost. You're close to getting a Gold Mate. Remember, patience is the key.

I initially struggled in my stint tonight for a good 5 laps, a good second off the pace. That's when I realized I hadn't fitted the wets. :dunce: Times started to come down and eventually I popped into the 48's. Yay!

Mate You're about 1.3 seconds off the fastest time & yet, You're 195th ranked!!!! That just shows only the best drivers as of now are able to nail this TT. Nonetheless, this TT is fun & a welcome change.

A couple hours ago I got this time thinking 1:48.x should be close. Instead I drove around aimlessly for another 150 miles.
In other news, last night the TrueForce vibrating steering wheel feature stopped working mid-lap, and it was so much easier to drive consistently that I immediately turned it off in the settings.

Really enjoying this one. I did well in the last wet one we had at RBR as well. It seems so much easier to find the limit with these tires in these conditions for me.
Optimals look like I can go deeper...

And I'm not hating my leaderboard of death at the moment. I'm in some pretty stellar company here... Hi @crome !

I spent most of my time bumbling around like a fool as I tried to find the fastest way round the track. I was barely paying attention for the most part but I was a happy kitty because I didn't suffer a great deal of pain. I was left feeling demoralised after my trials at Alsace, fearing that my body had given up on me but no, the track is just a disaster. Fuji is not a disaster because you aren't constantly moving the left analogue stick.

Y'know, I kinda wish the rental cars in the TTs were just one color. Just black for instance. In other words, you only get to drive a nice livery or a color variant if you actually own it. If you use a rental, it's just black. That would be a fun way to kind of "show off" the cool variants you've collected. I always just use a rental myself even if I own the car in question (as of this week I actually own them all now), but if they were just black cars I'd definitely be inclined to go into my garage and use one of my own if I had a nice color variant. In fact, maybe the rentals should actually have "rental" stamped in red letters on the side! lol. Not that I think there's anything wrong with the rental option - I think its great actually - but it would just be a fun way to add value to the car collecting aspect of the game.

I actually agree - I think it would encourage people to check their oil and wash their car more often to save those vital few tenths of a second (That's a hill I'm prepared to die on). Or have a watermark that says "rental" that looks rubbish and makes people feel ashamed lol.

On my friends list I do actually go up and down the list to see what liveries people have chosen, to get some inspiration or just to admire a little bit.

Also fizzy drink liveries <3

Rentals are faster. 😂🍻

So are we saying rental people are cheats compared to us livery purists?

@half_sourly Can we please improve my TT ranking by lets say 25% please as I have never used a rental aside from this one Strassenversion trial.

It's only fair :)

(Whole reply was sarcastic/me being silly for those who might have taken that seriously)

Tbh I would prefer it if rental cars didn't exist in the game at all. It would make earning credits and collecting cars more meaningful. You know, like videogames used to be. Actually earning stuff. If occasionally you have to skip a TT because you can't afford the car then so be it. But modern videogame audiences probably couldn't handle this.

I'd agree with that if the game wasn't set up to be such a grind. As it is, not having rentals available and then having a TT that used one of the big $ LCD cars would mean you suddenly only have 30K people in a time trial instead of 130K. If there was a way to accumulate 10 million credits in the game in some more reasonable time frame (like a couple hours rather than 7 or 8 hours of grinding) then you could go without the rentals without submarining the numbers of participants.

There are definitely multiple ways to look at this. Playing GT7 and buying/ unlocking cars along the way doesn't feel like a grind to me. Also we can sell/ trade in cars, so if you really wanted to compete in a TT you could probably make it happen. It would be more interesting imo.

But the way PD set it up with rental cars nobody is really in a position to complain so I guess it is the right decision.

Well, it may not feel like a grind when there's no particular urgency, but if a TT comes along with a car like say the Mac F1 and suddenly you need to find 20 million credits to take part it's pretty grindy. Sure, you can sell a bunch of your other cars (at a considerable loss which then adds to the overall grind), but then you need to buy them back when they appear in the TT. lol.

Exactly, but that kind of adds another dimension to the game no? You need 20 million credits for this car, you have two weeks time. Do you sell a car? Which car do you sell? Do you 'grind' certain races (actually play the game)? Do you skip this TT? Thats videogames to me. Now you just select a rental car and thats all there is to it.

But like I said, rental cars are convenient for 99% of the players so PD made the right decision.

Yeah, not to belabour the point but like I said I agree with the premise...I just think if all you did was remove the rentals and leave everything else the same it would absolutely crater the participation numbers in many of the events. You'd need to adjust the economy a bit as well.

(I think a lot of people would argue that grinding certain races repeatedly isn't "actually playing the game." For me, actually playing the game is doing laps in the TTs. Running Sardegna 25 times in a row to try and buy the car I need to take part in the TT is grinding. It's not such a huge issue when there isn't really anything specific in the game other than just collecting the cars that forces you to grind. Once there IS something in the game that forces it, then it becomes more of an issue.)
